  2. that's great. i just received my quote back from her. prices were cheaper than others but still high. i'll go thru and see what i can cut down on.
  3. ok i didn't see it so here goes my couple questions: (lol) 1. did you make the pommanders yourself or you just used the florist? 2. where did you get those long hanging crystals for your chuppa at the ceremony?
  4. Loved it all!!! i need to look at your planning journal for the pomanders! simple idea and really nice!!!
  5. how was your experience working with Jan? do you have any advice?
  6. thanks a bunch. I contacted Jans today and she's going to email me pricing and other services she provides! did you have your wedding in Jamaica? i really like seawind (our ceremony/reception location) but i just have to find people to do everything. i'll contact the others you recommended tomorrow! thanks again!!!
  7. congrats on your wedding. i saw you wrote that you had jans flowers for your vendor. Did you personally pic your bouquet and others flowers that they provided? how was your experience working with them? I'm waiting on a quote from them now. We're staying at secrets and having our wedding at seawind beach club (which is in between secrets and sunset).
  8. i'm looking for a wedding coordinator in jamaica. was yours based out of jamaica or from the US?
  9. Hi ladies, does anyone know of a good wedding coordinator in Montego Bay Jamaica or surrounding areas? we're getting married at the beach club next to Secrets Wild Orchid and have to find our own wedding coordinator! any info would be helpful!!!
  10. Hi ladies, do any of you know of a wedding coordinator in Montego Bay? we're getting married at a beach club and have to provide our own. any info would help!
  11. Yea unfortunately customer service is not the greatest in Jamaica. We've had communication issues with several vendors, make me so mad but sad part is I still need them! Lol
  12. i would love a similar look! i'm natural and my hair is about mid back/waist length but it frizzes really bad in jamaica! lol i have no idea what i'm going to do.
  13. glad you said that about the chivari chairs, i'm upgrading to that as well. i was wondering if they were pretty enough to skip the chair sashes! i'll prob just decorate our chairs but leave the guests simple! did you get your pictures in yet?
  14. wow that's alot of stuff american allowed! that's great! i'm looking for tickets now, hopefully i'll fly american as well! and $50 that's not bad at all. i don't know why i thought the setup fee was $300, maybe i was thinking about the vendor fee. glad it's cheaper!!!!
  15. i can email you the quote and info i received, msg me your email address. as for choosing there, i did for a few reasons 1. children are allowed 2. the food selection, they offer real jamaican food which i have alot of guests coming from the states and wanted them to get that experience (even though we plan on taking everyone into the city as well the next day). i'm also a big FOOD LOVER lol so that was a plus for me. below is couple who had their ceremony/reception at seawind. he's also the photographer i'm using for the wedding. http://dwaynewatkins.com/blog/?p=1664
  16. who did you end up using to make your cupcakes? did you just go thru the hotel? I have a few things left to find, florist, cake and lighting (i think thats all) lol
  17. they should have given you a price breakdown with everything for your wedding, i remember it's in there for decoration fee, i think it's $300 but i can't remember for sure.
  18. no problem, i'm staying at secrets and getting married at seawind next door only since they allow kids for the ceremony and reception. it's a bunch of secrets brides on here so youll find all the help you need. :-)
  19. yes you can bring your own decorations and they do charge you a fee, i think it was $300 i can't remember. they do offer everything as far as decorations as well but it's pricey. there are a couple threads on secrets that has all the info you will need for secrets wedding and reception, secrets also has a beach club next door called seawind that is on the same property but they allow you to have kids at the wedding (just an option). they are managed by different people. hope that helps. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/79828/secrets-st-james-wild-orchid-weddings-2012-2013/210#post_1905646 http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/85907/alexisinjamaicas-secrets-st-james-4-27-13-planning-journal/40#post_1907406
  20. yes would love to see how it turned out! GLad you had a great time!!!
  21. oh that would be great. i found one and got a quote, they want $2000/minute (minimum 3 minutes) for a lighting show in the sky. I knew it was expensive but danggggg didn't know it was like that! lol so i'm someone else would def be great so i can get some more pricing options. i really do want a firework show though. and congrats on your wedding! would love to hear your details. mines not until december but seems like its' coming quick! and in montego bay at seawind beach club (next to secrets, we're staying at secrets though)
  22. Actually we're staying at Secrets WIld Orchid and getting married at Seawind Beach Club which is on the same property, just next door. they have more flexibility with options (especially the food, i wanted real jamaican food, oxtails, jerk chicken rice and peas plantain lol etc.)
