Hi Ladies, Congrats!! My wedding day is getting closer and to be honest my plans changes a couple of times due to ignorant people! I find that the info I received from the resort can be conflicting at times. Lupita is very nice though I think the language barrier doesn't help. We are just having a simple wedding and are trying to choose the restaurant at this time. Lupita advised that El Gauncho is the most private. The packages are A LOT better priced than they were when I was planning last year! For the turquoise package now would have cost me almost $15,000 last year so the package at $3000 is AMAZING!! Still trying to iron out the plans and am writing to Lupita today. Fingers crossed that I will get all the info I need.

I'm not sure about a lot! I am actually getting really nervous! Not sure where to turn. They have no catalogs to choose anything from other than flowers and even then, they aren't the nicest. Any advice anyone??

I also don't know what to do... Dinner on the beach or in the restaurant? I have read that their prices are CRAZY!!!! Anyone have any recent information? We are very nervous as we may change hotels from Sandos Playacar to Azul Sensatori. Not sure what to do. HELP!!!!!!

michelleosokin... BEWARE!! I too worked with Ashley for my wedding and it was a nightmare! She was soo friendly HOWEVER, after I booked, she continued to be nice but was slow at everything! You will soon see that things will not make sense and things were not explained. My guests complained that she did not get back even when they wanted to book! I told Ashley my concerns when were quite a few and her response was that she had no idea what I was concerned about. After asking questions about how long usually it takes to get back to people and so on she replied with "well now that I know your expectations we can move on" UMMM WTF! Me being a Customer Service Lead, I was appalled that she didn't even know that keeping peopled posted and communicating with people was a new expectation! Don't let her lie to you because she did many times with me. When she said she would get something done, she wouldn't and then would lie. Even their head office says she is slow because they gave her a lot of work. OMG I can go on and on. I am still in the middle of this battle but all they want to offer me is another agent but if they said at head office that she was the best then who in the world are they going to give me? So far I have lost a lot of money because of her lack of service! Be VERY careful! MY advise would be... RUN while you can!!!

Has anyone had to change Travel Agents/Agency but already sent your wedding invitations to your guests? I have. I am thinking about sending out a "postcard" or letter with the new info. It is very unfortunate that I had to do this but the service I was getting from Destination Weddings.com was HORRIBLE! I was able to get out of the contract thankfully have found an amazing company to take over! Anyone have any advise on what I should do and write? It's embarrassing that I have to now send out new info when I sent the invites just a few weeks ago! We spent A LOT of money on the passport invites which is depressing but it was either let any more of my guests get horrible service from the TA or this option of getting out the contract and sending new info. HELP!!!!

Hi all, My fiance and I have booked Sandos Playacar. I have seen a few threads however they are pretty old. I am looking for new info and reviews on the Resort. We are having out wedding on May 28, 2014 at 4:00PM. Is that a good time? Also looking for info regarding dinner on the beach vs. in a restaurant. Also cocktail hour and more. At this point any info is greatly appreciated.

My fiancé and I (female same sex wedding) are having a symbolic ceremony May 2014 at Sandos Playacar. We want to have the dinner and reception on the beach and have a DJ on the beach as well. I hear we can be on the beach until 10:30PM. Are there any pros and cons to having it on the beach vs. the restaurants other than having A/C and not having A/C? We are also thinking of using Samuel Luna and Carlos Gallardo for video. Has anyone used them? Our budget is tight and their prices are great and their pictures are also very nice! Is there anyone else that someone recommends? Just looking for advise and recommendations. I am thinking about using the parasol's for the bridesmaids and maid of honors instead of flowers.
