Hi everyone! We have decided to stay at the Grand Palladium Kentenah in the Mayan Riviera. I am considering having the ceremony/recpetion at a location not at the resort. We will probably have about 30 guests. I am worried that this will be very expensive. But i like the idea of a ceremony that is a bit more private and avoid getting married with 6 other brides on the same day. Any brides out there that have had their wedding not on the resort? How did it work out and what was your budget? Are you happy with your choice! Thanks for any advice/help!

Hi everyone! I really enjoy reading everyones post! We have just put our deposit for the resort to hold group rates for our guests. We are going March 12, 2014! Does anyone know if the resort is booking wedding dates yet for 2014? I read a few posts back that they were putting people on waiting list. Still deciding if I want to stay at the resort for wedding or go off site with an outside wedding planner.

Barcelo looks so nice but was out of our budget for guests. We got the best quote for grand palladium so thinking of going with that resort

I know I shouldn't read too much on reviews but I have read a lot of bad reviews about the food here and having wait hours for the a la carts restaurants. We got the cheapest rates for this resort but now I'm worried.

@heather82, can i ask what the quote was for ocean turquesa? Also other brides on this forum could u tell me what u got for prices? Was hoping no more than 1300 AI but all the 4* resorts seem like it ll be a least that and more. This website is dangerous, i literally read for hours especially since we havent chosen a resort but then i just get more confused. LOL

Hi everyone! I still haven't decided on a resort...we r getting married 2014. Prices for the Colonial seemed great though for jan 2014. I read earlier posts that said there is no vendor fee for photographers and such. Is this still true? Do u have to get a day pass? Also sounds like if you have under 40 guests you can book in a la carte for no extra fee but if you have over 40 you have to have a private reception which is like $40 per person? If you have reception in a la carte so not private can you still have speeches/first dance? Too bad that this resort doesn't offer free wedding packages like a lot do but this resort does sound great. Does anyone think the size is too big or overwelming? Any help would be great! Hi, im not a teacher but my best friend is and she will be in my wedding party. we r getting married 2014. We dont want to do march break or summer. Apparently for ontario teacher she would have to write a letter to the board asking for time off. Has anyone done this for a wedding or heard of anyone doing it? How likely would it be for them to say yes.

Hi everyone! I am going to get married in 2014. When we went to see a travel agent she said we have to wait till march to get the prices for 2014! How did you all get the pricing? We still haven't chosen a place to go yet.

So visited a TA and prices for 2014 dont come out till march! so now have to wait till then...kinda annoying.

Yeah. Seems like you dont actually get much of a discount for group rates.....only like $100 off or like a free flight after every 10-20 people. You think it would be better than that! Im still worried about pricing too. Seeing travel agent on Saturday and hopefully I can figure some stuff out...like where to go!! lol

Hi heather 82....hmmm, yes that isn't very helpful is it. We haven't decided on a wedding date yet but for sure 2014. I am going to talk to in agent in a week or so. I will let you know if she says we have to wait for better prices. I know what you mean about pricing. I want to go to a really nice place but want people to be able to still afford it!

Who is your travel agent? I live like 15min from welland. Also how far in advance did everyone book? For our wedding we are thinking early 2014

We went to the Riu Ocho Rios a couple years ago. Its a great resort, amazing food, fun staff, we really liked it. Im sure your wedding will be amazing!
