Well... the private dinner and reception of at the Pisces costs if definitely extra! And we're planning on getting the steel drum band for the ceremony. Other than that, i dont think we're going to get additional decorations or anything. My FI really wants to canape service but i'm dont really think it's worth the money so it's on our "maybe list". Anyone else get the canape service at your ceremony??

Just wondering if you brought your own decorations down to decorate the Pisces or if it was decorated for you? It's difficult to get an idea of the type of decorations (if any) it will need. Do you have any pictures of your reception you can share?

Because i'm getting 7 women's hair and make-up done Rashel actually is ending up being cheaper than the resort - even with the travel fee and the day pass

We also booked through Marlin Travel. For every 12th adult booked we get one free trip so we're hoping to get 4 free trips! I don't remember the name of the package right now... It was the one that covered 24 people I think. It ended up being cheaper that way. We're expecting a pretty big number. We'll be having are reception at the Pisces restaurant since that's also cheaper and includes a DJ. Plus it looks absolutely beautiful! I'm pretty sure I have everything figured out. I have Rashel Edwards for hair and make-up and I'm getting a local photographer to do a trash the dress shoot the day after the wedding off the resort. I just need to book a photographer and decide if I need to bring decorations down.

We're getting married the week before you! We're getting our guest to book ASAP since there is an early booking discount and prices tend to go up as things fill up. I booked through transat and they have a lowest price guarantee so if the rates drop after you book, you get the lowest price. From Toronto we're paying 1500 for the regular section and 1600 for the club golden section. Prices from Calgary were closer to 2000. It really depends where you're flying from. I also know that your week the prices went up, that's one of the reasons we decided on the week before.

Rashel said there's no vendor fee for her to come to the resort. She said at most she would have to pay for a day pass. I emailed the wedding planners to get confirmation and they said they don't know what there vendor fees for 2014 would be so they couldn't tell me (grrrr). I just booked her anyway and hopefully there will be no fee!

Hi all, wondering how many people got the "free room upgrade for the bride and groom" that's included in the wedding packages?

The meal is included as well as DJ for 4 hours. Drinks are served during dinner but not served after that. If you want to get the open bar that's an additional charge. As with any of the wedding packages you'll have to pay the additional cost per person for each person you have over the max for whatever package you choose. That still applies with private dining options.

I want to book her by this weekend but I'm waiting for confirmation in writing from the wedding planners that there will be no vendor fee The $1700 includes dinner. However, I am sure that if you go over a certain number of people they will start charging for each additional person. Not sure what that number is though. The number is 150 people. Not sure of that's the capacity as well. But I know that 1700 covers 150 people max.

There's another GBP Runaway Bay thread on this site that's a lot more active that this one. I'm getting married there next Jan 2014 and am also choosing the Pisces. According to the wedding planner the 1700 dinner reception which includes bar service (during dinner) and DJ service for 4 hours. I asked about bar service after dinner and she said the waiters usually stop serving since dinner is done but she can ask the restuarant owner to have them servce a little longer... Other than that, bar service is about 23 bucks per person. Maybe people have bought their own drinks down from their room, or bought a bunch to serve during the reception. You can get juices and pops for free to use as mix. One bride mentioned she asked nicely for a couple bottles of booze and the wedding planner gave her a couple at no extra charge. It seem like there's a lot of negotiating that can be done.

Not yet! A lot of photographers I contacted were appalled at the rate. I was thinking of posting in here and asking brides that have used them to send me detailed reviews with their names that I can show Chandalyn when i make my case for a reduced fee. I'm also going to contact other resorts to find out their vendors fee. There's power in numbers right and my wedding is not for a year, planning is done, so i have time to fuss over annoying things like this. So... any brides out there willing to share their not so good reviews of the resort photographer, including their name and wedding date so Chandalyn knows that we have the inside scoop Your help would be awesome! I'm looking into a few different outside vendors. The $800 vendor fee kills me!! Stacy Clarke covers up to 500 of the vendors fee so that helps. A couple others I've emailed about doing both the wedding and a TTD the following day have mentioned staying over at the resort and based on previous posts in this forum it seems that if the photographer is a guest at the resort there is no vendors fee... This is my list of local photographers that at least someone on one of these forums have said good things about. I've heard a lot of great things about both Stacy Clarke and Merrick Cousley. Zuluspro has great rates and unlimited coverage but i'm not sure how impressed I am with the photography. I still have a lot of emailing back and forth to get more info but thats what I have so far.
