Hello All! Well I guess I will start my journal with our story. We met through mutual friends about 6 years ago when working at a movie theater. Although the chemistry wasn't there from the beginning, it gradually started sparking as we got to know each other. Our first date (def the BEST DATE i have ever been on lol) he took me to walk on the beach and just get to know each other. On the second we took the ferry to NY and went sight seeing. Needless to say I was head over heels lol! A year and a half later we had a baby girl! Although it was unexpected- she was a blessing and became our world. I wont say it was a walk in the park because we were still very young, but we definitely remained strong for each other. He stood by me and gave me 100% of his support while i was trying to get my BA and eventually landed a good job and i did the same for him. On New Years 2012 i was unexpectedly surprised when in front of our entire family Cesar got down on one knee and proposed to me and i of course said YES! Shortly after I began calling venues and vendors... and our budget kept increasing and our guest list was even worse. After about a year of being engaged we decided a destination wedding would be the way to go. It cut our budget in half and we saw it as a unique way for us to be married- especially since we've been unique from the very beginning. So we after ALOT of research we decided on the NOW Jade Riviera Cancun Resort. We booked our date for May 31, 2014 and are expecting about 25 ppl so far! I recently ordered a proof of my save the dates so as soon as i order them I will make sure to upload the on here, as well as any other cool DIY or wedding related items!!!! Happy planning ladies!!! Hi! I emailed a Travel Agency i found on a forum Wright Travel and Wendy Hicks contacted me soon after! She has been awesome so far and I recently asked her for 2014 group rates! I'm not sure if they can provide you with October rates since its still pretty early but i would def recommend contacting them! Hope this helps!

I only asked for 4 nights and 5 days as a starting point but if the longer they stay the more discounted then i will definitely ask about additional days lol! I kept going back and forth with room blocks or individual booking but I think room block is the better choice! Thank you so much for the info, its greatly appreciated!

Hi! I know you posted this a couple months back but did you do a room block or was this individual booking? I'm working with someone with Wright Travel now and im waiting on the group rate. We're flying out of NJ.

Thank you! & Yes i agree! I will be bringing some cash but hope the majority of my vendor payments I can just make using my debit card. I believe the international fee is about $10. But thats a good idea- maybe I will do the same. Thanks again!

oh ok thanks! And I have several bad reviews about the on-site photographers, so I decided to just hire an outside vendor and pay either the fee or a room for them. Photography is really important to me so I would much rather do that, I went with TakeitFoto, their prices are very reasonable. And now I am currently emailing back and forth with MVP Hair and Make-up (outside vendor). My bridesmaids really wanted to have someone do their hair and make-up, so I did a little research and read wonderful reviews on here about them, so decided to go with them.

Hi Ladies, So I am very excited. I‘m still a year away but I put my deposit with the photographers yesterday and am now in the middle of placing my deposit for Hair and Make-Up for myself and my bridal party. I know with the Divine Package I get hair and make-up included but im thinking I’ll use it the day of my TTD… and just bring extra makeup and hair supplies to touch myself up. (I hope that works!) I have a question thought… is anyone aware of how much cash we are allowed to bring to Mexico. I know a lot of vendors and even Pilar accept cash or prefer cash. So I just want to make sure there isn’t a limit or me and fiancée will dividing cash with some our bridal party. I don’t want to get stopped for any reasons in the airport. -Annette

Hey Ladies, Is anyone thinking about doing a room block with NOW Jade? Ive been working with a TA but I keep going back and forth if I should do it or not?? I just get a little nervous when i read about guests getting to the resort and not having their rooms... Annette

Ladies... I just saw the deposit for NOW Jade hit my account because I had an issue with my bank approving the amount since it was from Mexico (they thought it could possibly be fraud) so I approved it last week. But the amount coming out is $510 when I only appoved $500. I know $10 is not a big deal but I'm still concerned with why they changed the amount... Did this happen to anyone else? Could it possibly be international taxes? I will be emailing Carmen (who is the person who contacted me from NOW Jade to tell me to speak with the Bank to make sure the debit processed) but I know she may take long to respond, so i would appreciate any feed back from you ladies.
