  1. We are considering hiring a videographer to have a keepsake of the wedding. He's gonna cost us a pretty price! His package will be around $1400 plus $300 resort fee and I'll most likely have to buy him fiber at the reception too bc I want him to capture the speeches. I've asked a few people attending if they'd film the wedding but no one is comfortable enough to handle that task. Plus it wouldn't be fair I'd like my guests to relax and enjoy the wedding. If you have hired a photographer or videographer, who did you seat them with? Did they have their own smaller table off to the side? Suggestions?
  2. My MOH is actually my best guy friend. He has the same outfit add the gm but I think the GMs will wear white colored boutinieres and my moh will wear a colored one
  3. I've been asked if there'll be some scripture reading and I think this week be a perfect way to incorporate an aunt or my future mother in law (she loves readings at weddings) with it being so special and not too biblical. Thank you for sharing!
  4. I don't think you should feel bad. I did the same for my girls. I'll be paying for their hair and makeup as well. As much as is an honor to stand in for someone at their wedding, I feel it's much more of an honor that your friends love you so much to be part of your wedding and accompany you on a day that only means something to u and your FI. I def agree with showing them all the appreciation you can if you're able to. Plus they plan the stag and bridal shower for you that they dish out money for as well. It works both ways
  5. I have myself a budget for around $250ish per girl. Especially cause they're paying and taking time off to come to our wedding. However I found Syper cute dresses from f21 that they'd all wear again for $30. So I put the rest towards their deposits for the trip and bought them cute presents too. I kinda spoiled them. I made them each a pair of beaded Barefoot sandals, a beautiful statement necklace, a John Hardy bracelet, getting ready robes and a mini makeup bag. I'm thinking of making a personalised hanger for them too. Haha
  6. Oh that's awesome! Thanks for the links I'll Def check it out! Your picks are so fun! Love 'em !
  7. Hey JustNoelle. We're thinking of getting these for our 2 little ringbearers (3 and 4 yrs old). They're a bit pricier but so cute. http://www.etsy.com/listing/118432186/kids-boy-natural-linen-suit-baby-boy?ref=sr_gallery_14&ga_search_query=ring+bearer+suit&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=CA&ga_page=2&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=ring+bearer+suit
  8. I thought about this very long and hard. We were about to do something like this: (Sorry for the pixelated images - I just took snapshots from my monitor) And on the back have our processional/bridal party/music program. But I hate to say that I never ever keep programs when I attend a wedding, and they just get tossed after the short half hour. Instead, I've found a beautiful baroque frame that I'm gonna use to frame a chalkboard and then write it in with some fancy lettering. That way it will be on display at the ceremony space and guests can have a look at it before the ceremony begins, and we can have our program in a frame as wall art for afterwards. I just spray painted a blackboard and I will post pictures of the framed chalkboards in my planning thread once I get a chance!
  9. I agree!! I decided on "Rocking" my own dress because I love it so much - and no inexpensive dress I can purchase with my budget will make me feel that beautiful. I'm just gonna cross my fingers and hope that it comes back looking clean enough to wear for our reception back in our town a week later.
  10. I could not turn these beauties down. I cannot WAIT to wear them!!!
  11. Hi Beautiful Brides We are finally getting our song list together. Music is super duper important to me, but I sorta always knew that I would insert some of my favorite romantic songs into my wedding somehow. Here's my ceremony music program: Prelude: "Kiss the Rain" by Yiruma - performed on the piano by my brother "Leaves on the Seine" by David Lanz - performed on the piano by my brother Bridesmaids & Ringbearer's Procession: "Come Away With Me" by Norah Jones Bride's Entrance: "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" cover by Leona Lewis (I prefer Roberta Flack, but the instrumental in Leona's version flows really nicely right after Come Away With Me.) Sand Ceremony: "Mariage d'Amour" by Richard Clayderman performed on the piano by my brother Couple's Exit: "Ho Hey!" by Lumineers First Dance: "Make You Feel My Love" by Adele Dance with the Parents: ????? Any suggestions????? What are your picks for your wedding?? Please share!! xoxo, J
  12. Hi Sgreen99! I love everything about your wedding!! Thank you for posting such amazing photos and all the great intel on the resort, etc. Did you have to choose a set menu for everyone at the wedding? I think the presidential package only comes with dinner for 10 people, and everything is extra. My coordinator is telling me that I have to pick the exact same meal for everyone. Was that the same thing you ran into as well? We're thinking of going for the surf and turf (steak & lobster) option.
  13. Hi Ladies - I've been considering whether I should buy an inexpensive dress to trash for the photoshoot (found one for $450 including tax and alterations) or to wear my actual wedding dress. I think I might stick with my own dress because it's special and way more beautiful than the inexpensive one. However - after returning home, we're having a local wedding reception and I'm a little worried that my dress might be too dirty for the reception back in town. Has anyone done this before? Do you guys have any suggestions? I don't think if we'll be able to travel to any cenotes. But I was really excited about getting into the ocean or swimming pool at least. Any feedback appreciated!
  14. Hi Beautiful Brides!! I was really excited about sharing posts on this website and starting my own planning journal. But then life happened and things got crazy! Anyways - our wedding is coming up in about 3 months! Fernanda had sent us a long list of documents to fill out - such as the processional songs and order of the bridal party walking out, top restaurant choices for the rehearsal dinner, etc. We're really excited! I actually been considering a wedding videographer for the wedding - because I think I will regret it if I didn't get one. Did anyone hire one? Do you have any recommendations? I've researched a few and they're quite expensive! I'd really appreciate any feedback at all
  15. Hi Yasmin! I will be getting married on Sat Aug 3!!! And we are staying an extra week after our guests leaves. When do you arrive to the resort?
  16. I chose the Presidential Package - and that includes the Palapa for 4 hours, and the ceremony will take place on the beach that's by the palapa. I think the beach by the spa is much more beautiful and less rocky - but had no idea that it would be $5000 mexican pesos. That's still pretty steep for just half an hour. Everything adds up!!! I'm gonna have to eat crackers for the holidays! lol
  17. Hello Grand Sirenis Brides!! I am getting married in early August 2013. Yeniza has been mostly great with answering a lot of my questions. But I just want to be able to check my info against other brides who are getting married there or have already been married there. We decided on this resort because it's a beautiful resort, and because my fiance proposed to me on the beach there. I would love to get married by the patch of beach that's by the spa and is a bit more remote from the resort, but Yeniza has told me that this costs $5000 more for location change. Did anybody also experience this super high cost to choose the beach that's by the spa??
