  2. Hey Jess, we atoo are getting legally married here tomorrrow...we share the same anniversary :-)
  3. I found some Destination Wedding Tips that I thought I would share with you ladies: Your beautiful Destination Wedding is just around the corner! Remember these essentials: SPF You will still get a tan when wearing sunscreen. Stay protected from harmful rays by wearing an SPF. Try to limit the amount of sun you see before your wedding day. Burns from the sun are painful, and don’t make for nice looking pictures. Also – nobody wants to go experience heatstroke/sunstroke. Not a fun experience. Stay hydrated Drink plenty of water during your stay! The sun is VERY hot, and alcohol dehydrates you and your skin. Make sure you look and feel fresh by staying hydrated! Protect your lips The sun can be harsh on the skin. Especially, your lips. Make sure to keep your lips protected during your stay with an SPF lip balm. Prep your hair Anyone having their hair done – make sure to wash it the evening before – unless instructed otherwise. Make sure hair is brushed and dried and ready to go the morning of the big day! Back-up plan Try not to get your heart set on one specific hair style. Depending on your hair style and texture it may or may not be able to exactly replicated, also keep in mind the climate of your destination. If it is extremely windy – you may not want your hair blowing around, and may opt for a more soft romantic updo or a classic chignon. Bring pictures Bring any pictures of your makeup and hair ideas for a thorough consultation the day of. For hair styles, bring a number of options, things you like and things you don’t. And styles for hair both up and down. Clean and moisturize For those having makeup done – clean, moisturized faces. Don’t forget your SPF! Eat Make sure you eat a good sized breakfast/and or lunch and have some snacks throughout the day. Fresh fruit, crackers – bring some protein or granola bars from home! Your wedding day will be a long one, you need to stay nourished and hydrated all day. Don’t roll the dice Don’t try any new skin or hair products too close to your wedding day in case of a reaction. Stick with your usual routine. Facials should be done at least 3-4 weeks prior to your wedding date, Waxing 4-7 days before. Remember your touch up kits Bring a bridal touch up kit with you. Keep items like extra firm hairspray, lip gloss or lipstick, pressed powder, blotting papers, bobby pins, sunscreen, breath mints, water and snacks with you. Get your beauty sleep Make sure you get plenty of rest the night before! Remember: Have Fun!!!!! Try not to think about what could go wrong, and focus on what is going RIGHT! Enjoy your time away with loved ones and savor every minute
  4. OMG that is so exciting! Hope your day is everything that you dream of.....ps I bought some zzzzzquil to help me sleep. I only had to take one and then I was able to sleep, lol

We didn't have nearly as many guests, so we didn't get anything additional unfortunately. Option plus sounds good though. I don't think they'll care that much at the airport that we're on our way to our wedding because I imagine there will be 7 other couples on our same flight that are as well. I do however think they will help me out with my dress. I've heard they have a special bride closet on the planes, but even if they don't I've shoved it in a pretty small overhead bin already with not much of a problem. I'm getting a spray tan and then using tanning lotion to extend that until the wedding. I promised my Mom a long time ago to stop going to tanning beds. Depending on how soon your wedding is after you leave, a spray tan could look really phenomenal! I'm doing my trial tan in two days to make sure it's not orange. Do you know how long the spray tan lasts? We arrive Saturday and I get married on the Wednesday. Also, won't swimming in the pool and ocean take it off?
  6. I also went to Michael's to buy a "Card" Box and holy shit, they cost $69.99 plus tax ...so I made my own ...I had the ribbon and bling so the box itself only cost me $2.99....I figure it's light and I'll fill it with a bunch of things so it won't take up too much space in my suit case.
  7. Any of you ladies going to a tanning bed now before we leave? I'm reading all about that and thinking that maybe I should go...hmmmm thoughts?

It's funny you say the "bride charm" until I read your post, I thought that I would just pull it out at the airport and they would probably let me by...good thing I read it..lol. I got the Option Plus as well....we also got free seat selection for all our guests after we booked 70 people on the same flight...albeit I had to make a fuss to get it.
  9. Good thing you mentioned that $15 /kg....I will make sure to ak more carefully now and ask family to take stuff for me. Did Transat offer you extra weight? We have an extra 10 lbs each

Thank you xo Kay, I bought mine online and it's the 3rd one of your pictures...super cute....did you check Michaels as I thought they had the same one there. I'm doing a "Water" Ceremony instead of a sand....but I did see several different colours at our local Dollarama and Walmart.

I am good I am really, really excited about going just to be on vacation in the sun with all my friends and family it is going to be the trip of a lifetime, and then we are getting married as well also awesome! I hope that people are talking about this for years to come, and that maybe with some of the people we could do this way more often I love group travel it is so much fun!!!! They will for sure! I keep thinking the same thing...people are going to talk about it for a long time and hopefully we will encourage more people to have destination weddings, lol I just received some excellent news. A friend of ours who has been battling cancer for 3 years and is scheduled to start chemo again, has been told by her Dr. to go ahead to our wedding in Cuba and they will start the chemo upon her return. This is the first and probably the only vacation she will ever experience. I am super thrilled that she is coming that I cried and now I can't stop smiling! NO ONE deserves a vacation more than she and her husband do!

I also paid for their dresses and will be paying for their hair - again I don't think this stuff really counts towards a gift but am wondering if you guys think thats enough or if I should get something else? I agree with Jolene and Kay...definitely enough! I think it's already very generous of you.
  17. Kay, LOVE 3, 4 and 6.....gonna put those in my "MUST HAVE" photos
