    We are getting married at the Blau Marina Varadero, the sister resort.....check out my other posts for more information. We are getting married on the beach and they do decorate it. The WC originally sent me a pic where the chairs were not decorated but when I asked, he sent me some more.....the wedding packages are very reasonable as well....here are some pics that the WC sent me [/img][/img]

    I am doing the message in a bottle seating as in this picture and then having a bottle of wine at each table numbered...I'm not going to designate the seats though

    We also did it where we picked the resort, chose a TA and she looked into 4 different companies to see where we got the best price. Transat Vacations gave us the best deal at $1032 pp and every 21st person was free. We then put a $300 deposit which gave us 30 seats for 90 days. I sent out the STD and we immediately booked those 30 seats so we requested an additional 30 seats and put another $300 down and only have 2 more remaining (so myself and my FI fly and stay for free and only pay for the taxes). We still have 3 weeks before the deadline and about 25-30 more people who have RSVP that they were going but not yet put down their deposit. I sent out our invites last week so I anticipate that the remaining people will put down their deposits soon. I did send a note attached to the invites thanking the pepole who had already put their deposits and reminding everyone of the deadline. We also get a one time price reduction.

    We're having a Jack and Jill for us and I felt the same way. So we've decided is to go ahead with it but all the money we make will go into an "Excursion Fund" for the group. I've inquired about renting the Catamaran exclusively for our group and going swimming with the Dolphins as well as the jeep safari. I've got the tour company down to $130 pp for 40 people. However, we have 79 people going so far so it may come out even cheaper. With the money we make from the Jack and Jill, we hope to bring it down to about $50 pp.

    For the invitations, given that we have such a large party going, I made 30 "Messages in a Bottle" for those people who had already put down a deposit to travel and sent cards to the others. The postage for the Bottles are $10 each so I had them all prepared before Christmas and handed them out personally during the Holidays. The bottles I purchased from Michael's for $.74 Sand - from our own lakefront (lol) Shells - ordered from Florida Shells and Gifts https://store02.prostores.com/servlet/floridashellsandgift00/InvoiceAccount?smode=checkout The mixed Nassa was $.99 and I bought 2 (I also bought other shells for decorating the table and had the parcel delivered to friends in Michigan to save on shipping) Umbrellas - purchased from Micheal's for $5.00 for 100 Labels - ordered return address labels from Vistaprint and paid $8.00 for 50 Ribbon - purchased from the Dollar Store for $2.00 Boxes - ordred from invitationinabottle.com If I had to do it all over again, I would have just ordered the DYI kit from www.invitationinabottle.com for $1.99 per bottle including the boxes...it works out to be cheaper. The actual invitations, I ordered from www.magnetstreet.com for $2.25 each.

    Here are the pics for those of you who aren't able to open attachments yet. guy's attire personalized flip flops girl's dresses I have also completed my invitations , Message in a Bottle. These are costly to ship (about $10 each within Canada) so I personally handed them out to my family and friends during the holidays.
