We are going to do both..although instead of sand, we are having water ceremony. The Water Ceremony will go right after the readings and then afer we say our vows and before the rings are put on our fingers, we are going to have the Hand Ceremony. This is the Script we are using: WATER CEREMONY The boys hold the containers of yellow water. Yellow is the color of sunshine. The color yellow represents joy and happiness. It also stands for wisdom. The girls hold the container of blue water. First prize gets the blue ribbon. Blue represents confidence and trust. A "true blue" friend is faithful and trustworthy. Etienne and Lydia, this vessel between you represents your marriage. It is a new beginning in your relationship with each other. As the yellow water is poured into the container, you bring sunshine and wisdom to your family. And as the blue water is poured into the container, you bring confidence, trust and loyalty to your family. The blending of the yellow and blue water creates green, representing the blending of your lives together. The color green represents stability, endurance, growth and harmony. May your marriage reflect these qualities. May your energies in this marriage blend just as equally as you give freely of yourself while honoring the greatness of each other. Hello ladies Went to Ardene's yesterday and picked up some flip flops. They are on sale for 5 for $10 with a big assorment of colours, black, white, yellow, blue, green, orange, pink and purple. They also have some with patterns. Excellent Deal!!! Bought these...thought they were so cute and very tropical! They also had some white wedges on sale for the same price that can easily be DIY into a bridal wedge. Have fun shopping!

We are getting married 2 weeks before our trip to Cuba and as many of the ladies above, it is just a legal ceremony/paperwork, no vows, no kissing the bride etc. "The ceremony will be at the resort is the "WEDDING" and that is where our spirits and emotions will be!" We will be signing the documents here at our home and the only people that will be attending at our "legal ceremony/paperwork' will be my Maid of Honour and her Husband who will be signing as our witnesses. NO ONE ELSE WILL KNOW!!!! I suggest that you do what you want....explain to only your family members (not the other guests, they don't need to know) that you don't perceive the date that you are signing the documents as your wedding date. You want people to be there when the emotions are there, not the paperwork and having people present at the legal/signing, will change your perception of your actual wedding day in Mexico....Simply, you want it to remain private just between you and your FI...I am sure they will understand.

BTW, I too bought my sashes on ebay for $58.79 for 100...I hope we don't have to set them all up! That would be a pain cuz I want them at the beach for the ceremony then transferred to the reception hall.

I too was confused and wanting to give out something in Cuba. So we decided on handing the OOT bags before we leave (will save us on shipping costs) and we will give a small gift bag with a scented candle and shells as well as a tin pail with candies.

My understanding is that most resorts don't supply the table runners or the chair sashes. I too am bringing them as my resort definitely does not provide it.
