What I would and wouldn't do again...
Lydia1120 replied to gkashmira's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Hello there...Not married yet but thought I would mentioned that I travelled down for a last minute 3 night trip to our resort and this was by far the best thing I've done. We received an excellent deal of $485 for 3 nights and it was well worth it. We met with the co-ordinator for 4 hours, chose our wedding and reception site, seached the surroundings for photograph spots, yada yada yada....I figure this saved me from doing all this upon our arrival during the wedding week and now I can spend that time with my family and friends. Hey if you were getting married at home, wouldn't you go do a site inspection for both the ceremony and reception? Why not for a destination wedding. As I said, definitely worth the money...if you can do, go for it!!!! BEST thing I've done so far! -

The other thing I wanted to share we my experience last weekend. I was having anxiety as I had not done a site inspection before booking. So on Wednesday I booked a 3 night vacation for me and my MOG to Varadero to go check out the resort and meet with the Wedding co-ordinator. This was by far the best thing that I have done so far! It answered so many questions and we got to check out the resort and the surroundings for pictures. Well worth the $485 I paid for the 3 nights. Heck, I can't stay in downtown Toronto for $500 with my meals, drink and accomodations so it was a no brainer. I would recommond this to ALL brides.

Hey ladies...my most recent activity: Given the size of my group, and as I may have previously mentioned, I will be handing out my OOT bags before we leave. However, I created a little Welcome package to hand out to the Group on the bus. the package contains our Welcome Brochure; Map of the resort with information about the resort on the back ie time for Buffet etc. door hang "Wedding Group"; room key, Request for Coffee card and the Wedding Day Program. I assembled everything like this:

Thank you ladies...my MOH and I just came back from a weekend at our wedding location. I was literally moved by seeing the areas where I was going to marry my best friend..i had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes! I love him more and more each day, if that is even possible! He is truly such an amazing man and more importantly an amazing father, oh and he's HOT!!! LOL Our motto is "Blessed Be, How Lucky Are We". If you get a chance to go visit your location, GO!!!!! Worth the money..I got so many things accomplished, met with the WC, answers to all my questions, viewed the location of the wedding, coctail area and reception. Went to the locations where we want our pictures to be taken, made arrangements for transportion, etc. Really worth the trip!

Alright ladies...I received most of my charms and rings so I've started assembling the wine charms....alas the beads I ordered are way too big for the rings so I went digging into my 11 year old girls beads and found millions of black, white and blue (our wedding colours) and it worked...here is the final product (I'm still waiting for the Flip Flop charm and the Palm Tree tree). I'll put six per bag and label...going to look like this

You're BRILLIANT Jolene!! I am going to do a Boudoir Session so I'll get both photographers to do a session each (they're only charging $100 each) and see whose work I like better and who I am most comfortable with.

ALRIGHT November sista brides...I need some help!!!! I've been tossing and turning about the photographer for our wedding. I booked Angela Brooks Photography but did not sign a Contract or anything of the sort, just verbal...here is her website http://www.angelabrooksphotography.com/?page_id=1015 and her Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/stacey.hauserman#!/pages/Angela-Brooks-Photography/276142922418634?fref=ts Angela does good work and she is a GREAT person. I chose her primarily because I know she will get along with everyone (we have 78 going) and she will blend right into the group, no one would even know she is the photographer. People would assume that she was a relative or close friend that is also a photographer. My dilemma is that I am very drawn to the work of Sunset Photography...her website is http://sunsetphotography.zenfolio.com/ and her Facebook Page is https://www.facebook.com/stacey.hauserman#!/pages/Sunset-Photography/252105654831850?fref=ts I feel that her photographs are much more artistic and really love her style. However, albiet really nice, I don't think she will 'BLEND" in as well with the group. She is also $600 cheaper but with less experience. I'm losing sleep over this...I know I know I know...I'm such a loser!! What do you ladies think I should do?
