  1. I was so glad I did not go with the covers...the white chairs are very nice and with the chair tie they look fantasitc...here's a pic from my photographer of chairs/sashes. I got mine from Jan's florist at $2 piece...Ive heard some negotiated as low as $1 piece but either way --really was no big deal _I liked that they came set it all up and then moved the chair ties and chairs to my reception for me --it was worth the $2 chair tie LOL --it was less hassle before for me and during the day. of the wedding. My 2 cents worth anyway
  2. Hi there Misslaura, Initial contact took a few days but actually I chose Marcia based on how quick they were in responding. Check your Junk Mail - her assistant usually responds first. I am also happy to provide you with her basic price list, although you can negotiate with marcia for sure --which is another reason I chose her. I did use their entire package including video. It was good, and I am very glad that I have it...I just got the video and all the pics last week actually! they were very fast!!! I don't have anything to compare the video too, compared to others I mean , but there were a lot of great shots from the photographs and both the videographer and photographers captured every single important detail of the wedding ceremony, before/getting ready, the reception, dances, all speeches etc....so I was really pleased with all of it Marcia has a team so she didn't do many of the picture taking herself, she did some though, and mostly she directed the photographers. There was her assistant who is great and he's a lot of fun and took some great shots!! and there was a junior photographer --those pics weren't always the best but he's just starting out, and he was just the secondary photographer catching everything from a different angle. We got over 2000 pics in total and both photographers got all of the ceremony and reception too!!! Most photogrqaphers you hire only come themselves, they don't have a team , so I felt like we got every angle covered LOL. I didn't even know the videographer was there or the photographers truthfully, which is pretty cool considering there were 4 of them taking pics/video LOL. I might suggest that beforehand you discuss the must have pics or have them in your head and then let the rest be freelance, because I missed a few important pics I wanted ...but Marcia wouldn't have known that as I never discussed them with her ahead of time or that day...and everything was sooooo rushed with mine, I was running SO late for our wedding...45 mins late! so everything was behind schedule and we had very limited time for pictures...which was my fault , not theirs unfortunately. Marcia is a gem to work with and her entire team was fantastic, super friendly and fun. She really cares about her work. I can send you a few more pics so you can see abit more of her work -but as I mentioned I got over 2000 pics so still sorting through them. lol .
  3. Hey Yassy, So sorry I'm late getting back to you, I had a ridiculously busy week and weekend last week!! Soooo wishing I was back in Jamaica right now. lol I can't remember what time the beach party started or ended - I had it the night of our welcome dinner and we got there after it had started -- it was probably around 8:30pm though when it started and it went for quite some time --I want to say til around 11-11:30ish.... the disco is open after 11pm though ...although I'm not a huge fan of the disco there. We didn't end up hiring the DJ but I rented the system for the 4 hrs...I got it for $150/hr from Keisha and Patricia honored it. I did it for the 4 hrs because our first dance, speeches, toast, and father/daughter dance were all throughout dinner & dessert...I wanted the last 2 hrs to dance/party! Also I negotiated staying til 11pm with Keisha --- at no extra cost. You could totally use an ipod dock for background music if you want for dinner ...but if you want the Mic then I would just rent it for the extra 2hrs. If your at semi private dinner in a restaurant thought then you won't be allowed to play ipod dock or have a Mic. Let me know if you have any extra questions, Im happy to help. Kerry
  4. Hey Ladies, Just wanted to let you know you don't need to stress, I was married there a few weeks ago, I had 38 guests and it was perfect. You can do all the planning when you get there--as long as you have booked your ceremony time and date and selected your location for dinner/reception then everything else can be planned once you meet with Patricia when your there They have this down to an art. Alyce, try putting in the subject line of your email ***response needed *** If anyone has questions that I can help with then I'm happy to answer. Cheers Kerry
  5. Danielle03 is correct. The $67 is for the poolside, and plantation there is no cost per person - just the cost of $1000 (other then the extra cost of 10.50 per person for the amount of people you have over your package amount selected which covers the extra cake/champagne) I just was married there a few weeks ago.
  6. Ladies, I found when I used their link on their website I never got a response (I think there is something wrong with the form on their website. When I sent them an email direct from my hotmail I got a response very quickly --I dealt with them a ton and literally they are very easy to speak to on the phone as well- if you give them a call. They have a toll free number I believe too. I had no issues communicating through hotmail or by phone though.
  7. You can give them your ipod and just write down the songs you want played and when (ie/ song for Mother walking down aisle - name of artist and song name) Patricia will let you know this when you meet with her 2 days before wedding...but your FI will bring the ipod and play list written out to the ceremony with him... there is a guy that has the sound system setup and he handles it all (I put all songs for ceremony into one playlist so it was easy for them) Cheers
  8. Hi Misslaura, thank you so much! We had Jan's florist do all our deco for the beach gazebo and private dinner/reception. The fairy lights and the lanterns were electric and done through the resorts florist Jan's Florist (no vendor fee), they were the cheapest quote and were $300 I believe for just the lights & lanterns. The resort wanted some crazy ridiculous price that was double that.
  9. I didn't see any roaches in the room, i actually never seen a single bug in the room however I seen one on my wedding night as it was outside, and one on he ground close to the stairs near the beach one night. They have flying roaches, just like a lot of places that have hot climates....but good news is I only saw them twice ever....did not see many at all. My best advice to you....stop reading trip advisor or review forums. It will drive you crazy. I had 38 guests, we all stayed on the junior suite/delue building side and we had two complaints only...one of our guests room had no AC for half the week, and our suite my FI and I, had no AC. So we had to move and the second suite we moved to had only Luke warm water. (Wasn't a deal breaker as it was 42 degrees so didn't need hot hot water but this issue was only because we had been moved to a suite tha was on the 5th floor in the non deluxe building I believe. All of our 18 other suites all had great AC and perfect ht water. The service and staff are exceptional....that is one thing without a doubt that you will not have issue with. Food is great, plentiful, fresh, tons of hoice. Staff is warm, friendly, and absolutely the best! The pool (we only used the deluxe side pool) was no issue, remember ppl are in here all day with oil and suntan lotion and spilling drinks from swim up bar potentially...at the end of the day ya it's maybe needing a good clean but that would be any pool....and it is perfectly clean in the morning, every morn. My guests raved about what a great place ROR was, were happy with service, cleanliness, food, etc... The only thing w saw that needed some work was entertainment at night some nights was a little dry. But we weren't really watching the nights it wasnt good, we were socializing a the bars surrounding the entertainment shows. The nights you don't want to miss is Steel Drum band night it is amazing and the beach party night (Mondays).
  10. Hi Alyce, I was told she was gone to Riu Negril...maybe it's only temporary though if they said she's coming back on the 10th? Staff all there that spoke to me told m she was gone gone...although Patricia never came out and admitted it. Don't worry either way , Patricia knows what she's doing The runner I got through Jan's florist and they did multiple rose petal colours on the runner. They also did the flowers on the gazebo and the tulle, along with the chair sashes ..and my reception lighting and decor the aisle runner was $30 but. Had to negotiate hard fr that an I think they did it because I was doing a lot of business with them lol...original quote from Jan's for he runner was $60...Tia florist also rents them out.
  11. Thank you my dear!!!!! You were absolutely STUNNING in your dress!!! Love it!! I haven't showed the hubby yet ....my photog only sent me a teaser BUT she said they are already in the mail so I am super excited to get the package this week and see the rest of the pics and video!!!!! Ahhh., I can't wait to relive it all ...I feel like I missed so much with rushing from one thing to the next and the party! It goes by way too fast!!! LOL
  12. Ladies, I am finally back on here...took me a week after the honeymoon to get my bearings again LOL. I am in vacation/wedding hangover mode. hahahaha I miss it believe it or not I was so ready for the planning to be over but now, I miss my wedding LOL I only have 3 pics from the photog as a sneak peak and a few from guests...so here goes. And my photographer called me 2 days before I left for JA and told me to bring some lingerie and she did a mini boudoir shoot after hair and makeup were done right before I put my dress on -so i had to kick everyone out of the suite...here's a sneak peek of that Photo credits to Marcia E Roberts-- she is such an awesome lady to work with --love her and highly reccomend for anyone in Jamaica!
