MrsHK, The place we are getting married at in Jamaica is charging $200 hour for just ipod hook up to the equipment or we can choose the DJ at $300 hour. It seemed ridiculous cost when I inquired as well but seems its the norm....I am now looking into how much it will cost to just hire a DJ outside the resort.

Hi Brooksy, it does take Keisha quite a few weeks to get back to you at times. Believe it or not my photographer helped me to get her to respond. She`s great to deal with once you get a hold of her ) If there`s any info we can help with in the meantime we would be happy to help

HI Jessica, The semi private dinner includes drinks but it is only beer and wine and soda and water --it doesnt include mixed drinks in the restaurants --although I do believe you have an option to pay per person to get a full bar. The dinners all start at 6:30 and have ended at 8:30 from what I understand. (If you have a private reception after then they all shut down at 10:30pm - Disco opens at 11pm -except on Tuesdays-it`s not open). It is 10.50 extra for each person above your package allowance and that is to cover the extra champagne and cake. If you have over 40-45 persons you are forced to have a private dinner & reception. So as long as you are under 40 (give or take a few) then the 10.50 covers your extra food, cake & champagne...so no need to upgrade your cake unless you really want something extra special. OMG you sound just like me hahahaha. I have no desire to use the chairs from the resort either -so I plan on renting them as well. Thanks for the referral on Jans Flowers I sent them an inquiry but so far haven't had a response and its been weeks. They are actually a preferred Vendor now at the Riu (before it was just TaiFlora) so I won't have to pay a fee. I think I will try to email her at the email address the resort gave me --I had emailed originally from their website -maybe it never went through. I am sure all will go well with your flowers -sounds like you did your research Thanks again!

Hi Heather1214, I am just wondering who you went with your flowers, is it a Montego Bay florist? I am going to be way over my flower budget also ...and was also planning on using my girls bouqets as centrepieces --to avoid the extra expense. I have 6 Bridesmaids so that will cover all 6 tables and mine for the head table .

Can any past brides let me know their thoughts?? Was the video worth it, did you feel the videographer was in your face or was in the way of guests or your photographer? I would really appreciate your feedback! Many thanks!

Hi Ladies, I am having a hard time deciding -- I need to know from past brides that had a videographer if anyone felt that they were too intrusive? I have been stressing a little over this and really need your help. I want to have the video for the fact that so many can't make the wedding (especially his family) but at the same time I dont' want them to be noticed or feel that they take away from the romance/ ambiance of the ceremony etc... I know! Exactly! And living in Canada alot of the stuff I need to order from the US so really dont want to be ordering to late in case of shipping, or not being able to rush order I have some family that told me they wonèt know til about 2 weeks before...there is 10 of them!!! uuugghhh lol

Definitely going to try focusing on one thing at a time instead of 500 things at once --hopefully that will be more productive. lol . Believe it or not I use to do project management and event planning for a living --but its soooooo different when its your own life and wedding!!!! I put out a RSVP of March 1st, but nobody is really saying much and not many rsvps are coming in ....maybe 1-2 day.... altho I did get word today that 4 more were booking ... I guess I will just concentrate on the stuff I do have control over and worry about OOT and other stuff once I know my numbers.lol, Good luck with your RSVPs , I hope yours come in faster then mine! lol

You ladies are so organized!! I am soooo behind ...I have done nothing for OOT Bags, decor, shoes, hairstyles, or ceremony script/menus ....I think I just went into panic mode reading everything LOL ....I haven't even booked my photographer yet!!! How did you know how many OOT bags to buy if not all guests have rsvp'd yet?? I have 29 booked ...so was thinking if I ordered 40 I would be safe? Same woth decor --I have no clue how many tables I will have so not sure of centre pieces etc..

LOL, yes we did!! That's awesome that you did them so early ...I only got engaged late Nov and once we made the decision on resort we sent the electronic invite and the link to our wedding website out to everyone...so they had the info until I could get the formal invites out. People already started receiving them today and I had people call to say they loved them So happy they turned out! Now it's onto Bridesmaid dress shopping -we are late -but the girls and I are going Saturday to get'er done! LOL
