  1. Either one is good for me. I'm going to check with another BDW bride in GTA and see if she wants to join us too... cause she works during the day sometimes on the weekend.
  2. Congrats on the confirmation for your wedding! I can totally hear that sigh of relief (cause that's exactly what happened with me). I believe he is the only outside DJ allowed. I booked him for my wedding, and Jazmin confirmed that he is allowed. For make-up, I booked with Adrian Guerra from Styling Trio
  3. Yeah, I've responded to Jazmin's email with the list of outside vendors. She just mentioned that they are not reliable for any outside suppliers that are hired, and not allowed into the resort on the day of the wedding. So it's just a safer bet to provide her with the list prior to booking any of these outside suppliers. She approved all of mine...
  4. Oh Vanessa, trust me, I believe every bride on this forum is going through the same thing. I just talk to the FI now, and even HE is getting tired of hearing about wedding stuff. I pretty much do all the planning myself, and keep him in the loop on big decisions.
  5. Vanessa, That's a great idea. I wouldn't mind that either. I live in downtown Toronto, and would love to just get together with fellow brides to chitchat. I'm getting married 11/12/13 in Riviera Maya. Sarah
  6. For more recent brides out there, did the WC ask you guys to list out your external suppliers to them prior to the wedding to confirm that they are ok with them? I just received an email back from Jazmin, telling me that we have to confirm all external suppliers to make sure the hotel is ok with them. Has anyone had issues with bringing in make-up artist for the day?
  7. Hello ladies! I didn't hear back from Jazmin, but I did hear back from DJ Bob. He was at the resort today, and Jazmin confirmed for him that he is the only outside DJ who is still allowed on the resort. So if there are any brides who had booked him, you dont have to worry too much about it.
  8. It doesn't hurt to email her anyways, since they do take some time to respond back. I was lucky the last 2 times I emailed her, which I received a response the next day. This 3rd time I emailed her, I've been waiting for a week or so now.
  9. I was told by someone that they wouldnt allow for speakers and mics in the restaurant if you are having your dinner there, because it would disrupt the experience of other resort guests. We were thinking of just doing a more grand entrance at the poolside reception instead since the DJ can play music for us and introduce us, if needed.
  10. Yeah, that's the same with me as well. My wedding is in November and after the date and location were confirmed with my TA, Jazmin had already sent me an email to introduce herself and asked for some information. In addition to that, she was already providing options for various things like dinner options, poolside reception options, menu and cake options to me to make the decisions. I feel like the WCs wouldn't want to wait that last minute to complete everything either.
  11. I had placed the deposit with DJ Bob for the wedding, and I just contacted him regarding this information about GBP not allowing outside DJs for the poolside reception. He said he hasn't heard of this, but he has a wedding there this week, and will also check with the WCs at the resort to confirm back for me. So fingers crossed*
  12. OMG! You're kidding me right? I've already placed a deposit with the DJ before I confirmed exactly which option I wanted for the poolside reception. I'm really hoping that they honour that, and I won't have to find something else. I just emailed Jazmin as well, so hopefully, will hear back soon.
  13. I like the idea of being able to walk down the aisle to a non-traditional song. I debated for a long time, and I think I'm going to use Jason Mraz's I Won't Give Up. The lyrics are beautiful, and it made me tear listening to it.
  14. Yeah, my wedding is not on the Thursday (unfortunately) so I will have to pay for the private reception. I already booked the DJ for the private reception and his prices were not too bad, so I guess it will be alright. Compared to some of the other resorts I looked at, this private reception cost is already decent. I've seen some prices that were totally out of whack.
  15. These are the options my WC gave me for after dinner plans. For after dinner (in Don Pablo Restaurant ) we have 4 options, just please let me know to can confirm: a private pool party with a cost of 1´680usd per 40people maximun and 3 hrs (8:00pm -11pm) of special drinks (piñas coladas, margaritas, sparkling wine & beers) + 2 lounge rooms + special ilumination + sound equipment + speakers + microphone + lights and DJ- very nicely decorated with chairs and high tables, a private pool party with a cost of 1´470usd per 40people maximun and 3 hrs (8:00pm -11pm) of special drinks (piñas coladas, margaritas, sparkling wine & beers) + 2 lounge rooms + special ilumination + 1 microphone + speaker to connect your Ipod and decorated too with chairs & hight tables, a private pool party with a cost of 1´020usd per 40people maximun and 3 hrs(8:00pm -11pm) of special drinks (piñas coladas, margaritas, sparkling wine & beers) + special ilumination + 1 microphone + speaker to connect your Ipod and decorated too with chairs & hight tables, free time after dinner to do a get together in the lobby bar but we cannot book areas or tables there because this is part of the all inclusive services for all the guests in the complex Hope this helps.
  16. This may be a silly question: when Adrian does your wedding day make-up, he just does it once in the morning, and you're expected to do all the touch-ups yourself (if needed), right?
  17. I was having a crappy day at work. When I read that, I actually laughed out loud. Thanks for that and the heads up with the potential mess up with the music
  18. If we had extra songs on the CD, will the resort accept it and play it according to your instructions?
  19. I'm having my ceremony in Tulum, and Jazmin told me to have 4 songs prepared for the ceremony. 1. Bridesmaid to walk down 2. Brides to walk down 3. While papers are being signed 4. After the ceremony (unless you have the mariachi band)
  20. I have 20 guest at the moment who have booked, and a number of guests who will not confirm for me until a couple months before the wedding date. I would say max number of guests would be approx. 30-40guests
  21. Thanks Trisha. I've been wondering too, because the difference between this option and the option WITHOUT the lounge rooms is almost $400USD, and I really want to know if it's worth it to pay the extra for those lounge rooms. Any recent brides have ideas of what that may be?
