  1. i love the luggage tag. I made my RSVP as lugage tags too, but I didnt think of doing them double sided. Did you print them yourself?
  2. I'm thinking of using those space bags to pack my dress. According to the commercials, they say that it shouldn't wrinkle too much but still hoping to just carry it on and use the closets. I saw a soon-to-be bride on my last vacation to Mexico, and she made a big scene with the airline attendants about using the first class closet when she was flying economy. I think they were initially going to let her, but she had such a bad attitude that they just told her to store it above at the end. Diva is NOT the way to go when you want a favor from the airline..
  3. That's very true. I guess it was a risk we had to take deciding on a destination wedding anyways. I'm still trying to decide which location to have the ceremony, and seeing your pictures, Trisha, is pushing me back towards the hammock now. The extra flower arrangements REALLY added to it and makes it look so much nicer. Oh, for the set up of decorations that you bring yourself, does the resort charge you extra to set these up for you?
  4. Thanks soonCB! @ JA2012: Those are amazing!! Exactly what I had in mind too, and you did a great job with them. Were the silk flowers from Michaels? The one at Yonge/Sheppard only had Christmas flowers right now so I couldnt find anything nice. The ones at Dollarama are out of the question...
  5. For the FI and myself, we chose the month based on the season for the destination (avoid hurricane and stay within low season). It just made sense for November as well because it is slower for the guests that are still in school to allow the parents to take them out of school for the week. The wedding date just so happened to fall on the 12th which was the same date we started dating. I guess sometimes... things just seem to work out on its own.
  6. Thanks for the link. The designs are really cute, and will definitely have to consider them.
  7. Thanks agm04. I'm going to take a look at that. Maybe instead of using real flowers arrangements, I can do this to save some money. The resorts charge WAYY too much for the extra flower arrangements you want to have for decorations.
  8. I've been wondering this question too. It would definitely save a lot more money doing bag/room or bag/couple.
  9. jreist is a junior member so she can download attachments, but i think you can post pictures even if you're not a junior member, cause I was able to post one for a thread I started for my save the dates. no worries, take your time
  10. JA2012, any luck with posting the picture on here? I would really want to see as well..
  11. Congratulations! Best wishes with the planning
  12. Thanks for that idea! I wanted to paint my own maracas as well for the wedding, and wasnt sure which paints would show up well on the wood. AWESOME!
  13. That's a really great idea. Never thought of that. I do have a lot of friends coming that get a little ADD when they're sitting there not doing anything..
  14. I know that Michaels is having a sale this week between the 12th-16th and 25% off all items, including sales items. The coupons can be found online on their website. I saw some really nice glass vases and decorative pieces for centerpieces there this week, so if you're thinking of making your own centerpieces, you should go check it out. They also have a sale for frames as well. So for those who are thinking of using frames in their deocrations, for anyone who is thinking of using frames for photo booths, that might be place to check out this week.
  15. The envelop for your welcome letter is really cute. Great job on the OOT bags!
  16. Congrats! I'm still working on it right now, and it's getting there... very slowly though. Happy planning!
  17. Do you just show her pictures of the way the centerpieces should be set up and leave all the things with her when you have your meeting? Seeing your pictures remind me of something else I wanted to ask before... 1) Would you recommend getting married at the hammock structure? It looks really pretty with all the extra flowers and the drapings, which i LOVE. But people tell me that it's really windy there, and not the greatest for pictures if you have long hair or veil flying around... 2) For those who had dinner in the specialty restaurant, did it not feel as private? Would it be recommended to do the private poolside dinner instead? I'm kind of torn right now, because I like having the privacy of the poolside dinner, but I'm a bit afraid of the rain and being outside at night. 3) Does the resort have other options for private dinners other than the poolside one? Sorry for all the questions. I hope I'm not being annoying. Thanks!
  18. i think instead of using the "insert picture" button, you might have to open the picture on the computer and right click to copy and paste in the reply. I could be wrong though. Is that the picture of your centerpiece?
  19. Oh it seems like you and I have the same idea for centerpieces and were shopping at the exact same locations for these things. I made a trip to a Dollarama today as well, and noticed the glass vases for $2. Greatest deal! Just have to figure out how to bring all of it down to Mexico. The FI keeps telling me its going to break in the suitcase since it's glass.. so encouraging, right?
  20. Congratulations on the engagement! It's such an exciting time in life.. Happy planning!
  21. Yeah, I saw a couple that I liked online, and they were all pretty cheap... under $500 I think. Which I love because it would make me feel less guilty doing the TTD session. It might also allow to buy a shorter dress for the reception so I can dance in it. That was a pretty ballsy move, but hey! It helped you in the end so who cares?! I'm not very good at bargaining, so that might not help me. I'm hoping to find the bridesmaid dresses there too, since their prices are so cheap, so maybe they will give me a good deal to have everything purchased with them.
  22. Which Michaels did you go to? I was at the one on Yonge/Sheppard, but I couldn't find anything nice at that store. Might have to make a trek to another one another day. I was trying to find some floating candles for my centerpieces.
