  1. Any Canadian brides out there that have purchased the wedding insurance? I'm not sure if the companies above are within Canada, and I'm considering getting the wedding insurance. Just not sure what company to go with.
  2. I would love to be a part of this tradtion as well, if there are no other brides with the same date.
  3. Hi ladies, I REALLY want to do a TTD session with my photographer, and love the ones by the beach and in/under the water. I showed pictures to my FI and he loves them, but he insists that he doesn't want to be wearing clothes and getting wet in them. Any ideas on how to convince him? Or would you guys suggest just doing a TTD myself without him? It kinda sucks he won't be in the pictures though.
  4. Hey, I'm from Toronto too, and I've been looking at David's Bridal online. They have really good prices, and they have 2 stores in Toronto (Mississauga and Scarborough) so maybe you could check them out.
  5. Hi EmmA1025, I'm having my wedding in November 2013 in Mayan Riviera at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum. The quote that I received from my TA is around $1103/pp (incl. tax) all inclusive from Toronto, Canada. She also quoted Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya for me at around $100 more than the Gran Bahia. However, I believe she mentioned that February-April is still high season for travelling down south, hence why some of the quotes you're getting are slightly higher. I would try end of April or beginning of May 2014. However, come May, it's etching near hurricane season. But those resorts I listed are pretty nice, and I had friends who have stayed at both. So maybe you can start there. Congratulations on the engagement and happy planning! I got engaged 2 months ago, and finding this website is probably the best thing that's happened to me for planning. Cheers!
  6. Thanks for asking this question. I had been wondering the same thing but keep forgetting to post this. I thought everyone was buying these stamps or customizing them at Michaels or something. Guess I was wrong.
  7. Oh that is REALLY exciting! I like the idea of tapatalk, but it doesnt allow me to browse galleries and such since it's just forum talk. so the mobile version will be my favourite app once it's out. Next to my Michaels app for all my coupons and discounts.
  8. Those are beautiful! I might have to consider them, even if I get a free bouquet with the resort. I want all the flowers to match for the girls, so might as well. Does anyone know how long it generally takes for them to make and deliver these?
  9. I was thinking of using them mostly for the decorations at the ceremony. Like you said, for the aisle chairs and at the front where the couple will be standing... to have a couple different colored bunched together like a bouquet (kind of). Other than that, I haven't really thought of it yet. I'm still debating which fabric to use right now. I like that these are easy to flatten out to pack.
  10. I downloaded that app too when I started researching all the ideas for the wedding. Probably the most helpful app on my iPhone at the moment.
  11. For sure will try to remember to PM you. Yeah ikea and more Michaels and dollarama for sure the next while for me. I'm looking for white flowers probably for my centerpieces.
  12. Oooh! I don't know how I stumbled onto this, but I'm glad I did. I was searching best destination wedding the entire time on my AppStore to hopefully find something. No wonder I couldnt find it. LOL
  13. I wanted a videographer too, but it just seem to be WAY outside of the budget for just 20-30minutes of video. I think it would be nice to have something to show people who couldn't make it, but photos I feel would be enough for me. At times, things are just not the same, even in video, when you weren't actually present. So I decided it was just not worth it for me (well, at least that's how I comfort myself that I can't afford one)
  14. Oh it's always nice to see threads with brides to be that have the same worries as you. I have sent out my STDs exactly a year out from our wedding date next November 2013. The TA told me that the deadline for putting down the deposits with the hotel block of 30 rooms is Jan30th, but my family are not very willing to commit this early. THAT worried me a lot as I feel like they would lose out on a good deal, and I won't have the numbers to do the rest of my planning.
  15. Love this thread right now. Sometimes the prices for items are really good, but when the shipping gets added on, it makes me not want to shop anymore. So its good to know there are some Canadian site out there.
  16. Great suggestions ladies! I was thinking of using "Marry Me" by Bruno Mars or the version from Glee as an option as well, cause I wanted some more upbeat songs. Probably for after the ceremony more though..
  17. i LOVE your dress. It's really pretty! And I really like the ties for the guys. I like that it's matching colors, but not the entire tie which can be a little too much at times. Great planning thread!! Congrats!
  18. Thanks ladies. I tried really hard on them. It's nice to get some compliments on them since the FI is not as interested in these little details of the wedding.
  19. Next time I head over there, I should really PM you and see if you would be free LOL. I live downtown by the Eatons Centre, and there are absolutely NO Michaels around me so it makes me pretty sad. It's either the one by Yorkdale or the Yonge/Shepp one for me. I went to the Dollarama on Sherbourne, so I guess I didnt give Dollarama a good chance. The location was probably not the greatest to be looking for good-looking flowers.
  20. Well I'm not getting married till next November, so I still have some time. I just wanted to start looking around, and try on different styles to see what would look good on me. Although kinda hoping that the dress I saw online would look good.
  21. I'm glad I found this thread. I'm signing the papers with the FI in Toronto before we fly down to Mexico for the ceremony. We wanted to avoid having to arrange all the documents and getting the blood work done there. I was just hoping to find a way to pose the program so people can't really tell that its not the legal wedding there with the signing of certificate and such. Thanks for the advice everyone!
