  1. You find the post you want to quote, and on the bottom right corner, you click the quote buttom and it will automatically do it for you.
  2. Thanks for the info. I guess you were right before.. it will really depend on how fast the photographer works to get in the group pictures and such to finish everything on time for the dinner. Did you get to request the dinner times? Was the cocktail hour extra charge?
  3. Oh, SJay! You're a star! I will definitely try to check it out... although without a car right now and living in downtown Toronto, it might a little difficult to get there.
  4. Yeah, I'm going next November, and the time slots they offered were 1 or 4pm. Do they allocate time slots for dinner as well? I want to make sure there is enough time between the end of the ceremony for photos and such before the dinner starts.
  5. Oh, I will really have to confirm with my TA which location I am at then. Sometimes, she's telling me Akumal, and other times, she's telling me Tulum. So if I was at the Akumal, I wouldn't be allowed to use the Tulum gazebo?
  6. I believe the ceremony locations are the same for all 3 resorts and just the reception is different. I could be wrong so if any other bride knows otherwise, pleasr correct me. I would say that you can relax a little for now and work on other things for the wedding so you can focus your energy on something else instead of stressing out too much. Like the invites or wedding gowns and such. Thats what I'm doing to refocus mu energy so i dont freak out. Im sure the WC will contact you soon enough
  7. Dont worry too much about it. I have my wedding booked with them 2 weeks ago and I havent heard much back from the resort either. But according to other brides here, the responses from thr resort will come more frequent and flow much better closer to the date. My wedding is booked for the 12th and I'm staying on the resort for honeymoon as well. So maybe I will see you there.
  8. These look amazing! DelSol.. if only I could afford them.. Congratulations! Your wedding looked beautiful!
  9. These are really good ideas! I was at a wedding here at home in Toronto where the couple did that, and I can tell a lot of people had fun with it. This might be a good idea to get everyone involved during the week.
  10. StylishmeNC, did you go with the resort's DJ? Or did you hire an outside one? I'm still trying to figure out what to do for the poolside reception right now.
  11. I saw that there are sand ceremony kits at Michaels in the bridal section, so maybe you can check it out.
  12. I really like the idea of passing around the ring for blessing. It will not take away too much time for all the guests to come up and pour the sand or place the rose at the front, so it is a nice way to have the guests involved. Thanks for the suggestion. I might have to borrow that idea from you. At the reception, I was just going to buy a polaroid camera and have guests take pictures of themselves and place it into the guestbook before they write their messages and sign. Photobooths are great, but I'm not sure if I can afford it. It seems pricy!
  13. I agree with the other ladies here. The A-line will definitely look better with your birdcage veil. Super cute You have to post your dress and show us which one you end up choosing in the end.
  14. Oh boy! That sounds like a large task. Good luck with that! Just wondering, any ideas on wedding insurance? I was reading on another thread that people are purchasing the wedding insurance which covers for anything regarding the wedding itself (ie. DJ florist etc) on top of their travel insurance. Any Canadian brides out there who have purchased a wedding insurance, and with whom?
  15. I'm not getting married in Jamaica, but with me, I started to do some research online with tripadvisor to see which resorts had good reviews first, and narrowed it down to 2-3 of them. Then I contacted someone from destinationweddings.com. They actually have travel specialists who can help you with your booking and getting quotes with the airlines and resorts for all-inclusive prices. I spoke with them, and told them which resorts I was thinking of, and asked them for their recommendations, as well, asked them to get a quote for roughly the time I wanted to have my wedding...
  16. That one sounds a little tougher. It's not like you're going to lug poles down from Toronto to JA. Is that the only location for the reception?
  17. Great job with the planning thread... and the programs! Congratulations!
  18. I want to know too, what is the right amount of time for the group photos and photos of the bride and groom? I have my ceremony at 4pm so by the time that is done, it will be starting to get dark already. Do I have to consider moving my ceremony to an earlier time?
  19. Wow! That's a good idea. I didn't think of that. I might have to ask around on the forum for brides who have had their weddings at the resort already to see if they can do that for me. If not, bubble-wrapping everything multiple times might be the way to go.
  20. If not, then for sure... I'll probably just do them with my bridesmaids, cause they're all down for some nice pictures underwater and splashing around in the water. Thanks for that suggestion.
  21. Thanks for the advice. I realized there really isnt any convincing I could do that would change his mind. You're right. Maybe I can talk with him and see where we can compromise to get the pictures done with both of us in it. I'll try that out first.
  22. Hey JA2012, real touch is a type of fake flowers that are being used for bouquets and other flower arrangements now. I'm not sure what the price range is, but I was doing some research and found one that's in Ontario (perfect for the 2 of us). Someone on the forums mentioned that these are very easy to travel... she put them in her carry-on and they just kinda poofed back up when she got to the destination. I'll let you know if I hear anything else.
