    Yeah I got a really good rate from the TA so I didnt want to turn it down. I considered waiting but who can turn down $1100/pp for a double room. Online, I haven't been able to find anything as low as that for a couple of months.. so I took the deal. My family doesn't really know these things about resorts and such, so it's not that they think they can find a better rate. They just have committment issues.

    I was wondering, has anyone ever asked the WC if you can purchase/rent out different sizes clear glass vase from the resort or the florist? I dont want flowers as centerpieces and want to make my own, but if I could avoid bringing glass vases down, it would be best. Another bride suggested this as she was able to get them thru her resort. Wasn't sure if anyone has tried with GBP?

    I wish my TA told me that. She told me to get quotes soon in case the resort fills up. Now my wedding is for next November and I have my hotel block only till the end of January, which is still pretty far out from the wedding date.

    LOL I'm sure you'll be fine. It looks like you have everything down already. It's more time to get ready and party now. You have 2 months still and you've already completed everything. I think you've got it in the bag.

    Oh that sucks. With such a large party with you, the layover seems so frsutrating. Are you guys pretty much filling that whole plane up?

    No worries. I'm very Type A when it comes to these things so I just need everything done a certain way. I think that's why I got the quote so soon. I know the resort I'm going to is pretty popular for vacations too so I just wanted to make sure the resort doesnt fill up and guests cant get a room. I think it really depends on your guests and your style of planning. I know my friend getting married in Punta Cana in May just got her quote, but all her guests have put down their deposit so it really depends.

    Sometimes its so frustrating when people dont understand how much research and work you've put into picking out the resorts and finding a good deal for them. You're doing all you could to make it easier for everyone but they always have a reason to think they can do better on their own. Sigh I guess that's something we as DW brides have to deal with. I just calm myself by telling myself that everything will be worth it in the end.

    Yeah thats what I'm trying to do right now and convince them that I hve a group rate and it will be the best rate since I've done some research on my own. I'm hoping to have some people who are certain make their deposits to convince others that it's ok to book now.

    My problem is people are afraid of committing so early. My wedding is in november and they think its a year ahead, so its too early. I have my hotel lock until January 30th so I want the close family and friends to book as soon as possible. Theyre like 90% sure they'll be coming, they're more afraid of last minute things that might pop up.

    That list looks a little intimidating right now. Im just stressing about guests making their reservations right now. Dont really how to get the point across that its really important they book as soo as possible because some of my planning will depend on the number of guests coming. Sigh

    YES! That's exactly what I'm thinking.. I might be thinking about the wedding a little too much LOL. My wedding is next November and I've been having nightmares that I ran out of time to prepare OOT bags and I didn't have anything! Or I forgot everything at home.. yeah..

    No problem. I feel like we really need to find a date and have any GTA brides get together and just chitchat. My friends and the FI are getting a little annoyed with all my wedding talk HAHA!
