  1. Ok... so my friend has been married for 6 years this June and decided to do a Boudoir photoshoot for her husband as an anniversary gift. She asked me if I wanted to do one as well since she knows we are getting married and its cheaper if you have another person. So I agreed to do it... I had thought about doing it, but wasn't planning on it until she came to me with the idea. So now we are booked to do our shoot on June 1st! I am sooo excited to get them done, but nervous to see how they turn out! I am pretty confident in my body so I am not too worried about that, but it definitely will be interesting to see how they turn out! This is going to be sooo hard to keep from him! I think I'll make a photobook afterwards and give it to him the morning of our wedding as a gift! I hope that he will like it!
  2. I had bought the laminating luggage tags too but I don't have a laminator and didn't want to pre-write everything for everyone so I took them back (I had ordered them from Staples) and ended up buying some online from the states but they were so cheap that even with shipping it was cheaper then the ones i bought from Staples! We are going to put together our invitations tonight so I'll be sure to take a photo and post it tomorrow! I also have completely finished my hangers! I had to get more wire for my bridesmaid one and I added flowers to them that I bought at Ardene (they are closing at a mall near me so I got 3 flowers for like $2!!). I think in total my hangers cost me under 10$ for all three of them! I got the hangers free at Superstore with my PC points! I am super excited about them! And my bridesmaid dresses should here within the next two weeks! And then I think I am going to "stop" planning during the summer since I have all the big stuff done and still have an entire year lol! But my guess is that probably won't happen lol! Ohhh and my friend is throwing us an engagement party this Saturday at her bar! I am so excited! Well thats about all thats new and exciting for me right now!
  3. I should have them finished tomorrow! FI just has 3 pages left to cut! And I just have to print off the pocket folds tomorrow at work! I had also purchased some RSVP envelopes but they were a different colour then the big envelopes but I decided that I need to get the same coloured ones...so I am waiting for those to come in... but we're only sending rsvps to people who we think won't know how to RSVP online... The others are getting an rsvp card that asks to rsvp online at our website. I cannot wait to see your dress Jolene... that is if you're going to put a photo up! You must be dying for Friday to come! I love having mine at home cause anytime I question or "forget" what it looks like I take a peak lol! And fall in love with it all over again!
  4. Sooo exciting Jolene!!! I am getting sooo excited now that all the big stuff is done and I can't believe I have just under a year... I don't know how I will be able to wait that long! Did your dress ever come in yet?????? And Kay that is awesome! I was thinking of getting my dad one too mostly cause I know he is going to be sweating with the heat lol and think it would be handy and sentimental! We got our invitations printed this weekend... FI is cutting them out... I bought the corner puncher but it didn't work and he did a better job cutting them out... he's spent about 4 hours already on them and still has about half left to do... Oh well that's his contribution to the wedding lol! I will post a picture of them once we have them fully finished!! So excited to get them completed and sent out! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!!
  5. Love this thread! I feel like every bride looks 10 times better then the models! I definitely wouldn't have picked the dress I did had I seen it on a model. When I look at it on the model I don't really like the style of it, but on me, I love it so much! Model Me
  6. Thanks! Yeah I feel like everything is done a little earlier with this type of wedding loL!
  7. If I had of thought about it before I would have just made them with card stock and a printer as well... I bought 250 of them and really only need maybe like 40 lol! But oh well I got them on sale and free shipping so it wasn't very expensive anyway!
  8. Ohhhh I absolutely love them! But my dress is relaly white and will probably look weird with the ivory flower! But they are so beautiful!
  9. I randomly found mine on kijiji... someone from a province over was selling the type of dresses I was looking for in the colour I wanted and they worked out to just be one size too big for the girls, but we can easily get them altered! I am so excited! I paid $150 for the two of them! They are Alfred Angelo in Coral style 7138! So excited to receive them!
  10. Yeah I asked on the FB group and some said they were useful and others not... I guess it just depends on the day up there lol! I like the idea of them but I think in the end I'll be like that was a waste of money and space in my suitcase so I don't know!
  11. Are ladies planning on doing programs or taking fans for the ceremony? I am wondering if the'll be needed on the terrace?
  12. How far in advance do you have a Bridal Shower when you are having a destination wedding? Is it typically a few weeks to a month before the actual wedding?
  13. Thanks Kay! Honestly the hangers were much easier then I thought they would be! You just need 12 gauge wire! I also bought some flowers to put on the top of the hanger... Ardene is closing and they had 80% off so I got three for like 2$ it was awesome!
  14. Thanks! My friend actually just got back from a wedding in Cuba and I was looking at photos and the bridesmaids had those same dresses! They looked great! The hangers weren't hard at all... There is a DIY tutorial on here somewhere (just search it) and she shows you exactly how to do it! I just kept the photos of the ones she made on my computer and used that as guidance... my wire isn't as straight as I'd like it because the end part was all twisted so I need to buy some more for my bridesmaid one so I might re-do the Bride one, but I'll have to see if I feel like it lol! My fingers hurt at the end but that was about the hardest part. And I'd mention make sure to leave enough room on both sides to make sure it will fit properly and not be off centre....like honestly I am not crafty AT ALL so if I can do this I know anyone can!
  15. Hello! I just found this thread and read through most of it lol! I would love to join in on the Operation Wedding dress! I actually purchased my dress last week. I bought a sample gown because it fit pretty well. Its just a touch too tight through the hips and a little through the back. My goal is to make sure the dress fits perfectly... I guess I don't really want to lose too much so it won't be too big and need a ton of alterations, but I'd also like to look good in my bathing suit since we're getting married in Cuba! I have 364 days left til I get married so I have some time, but I am looking to lose about 20-30 lbs! This past weekend I started working out more often... I am going to try and do at least 30 minutes of exercise every day. I especially want to work on my upper back and arms so they look sexy with my strapless dress!
  16. Thanks for the link to the luggage tag holders... I live in Canada and have surprisingly had a really hard time finding these types of tags! It was cheaper to pay the international shipping then to buy them here! So excited I finally found some! Because I had already ordered the "business" cards from Vista Print.
  17. Thanks so much for the tutorial! I completed two of mine yesterday, They were not nearly as hard as I thought they might be! I have no craft skills but was able to get them done! They aren't quite as good as yours but I am pretty happy with the way they turned out! Just need some more wire to finish my bridesmaid one!
  18. I was also in a crafty mood last night and started making dress hangers. I completed the Bride and Maid of Honour ones. I ran out of wire for the one for my Bridesmaid... luckily my fingers started hurting soo much! I don't think they are too bad considering my craft skills are pretty non-exsistent!
