  1. Alley!!!!!! The dress is gorgeous!!!! I love it! And am soooo excited you finally found one you loved! I was the same - tried on tons of dresses, didn't think I'd get that feeling but all it takes is that one and you just know! Yay! And your bridesmaid dresses are beautiful too! I am sooo excited for you! lol!
  2. I cut the burlap 5.5" by 6" in size and then I picked a font on word that I liked and made the size big enough to fit on the square (I used 300 size for the font) but that really depends on which font you use. I just put the square up to my computer to make sure it would fit. Then I printed out the letters for Guestbook on white paper. I also bolded the font so it would be a bit thicker. I cut the paper around the letters so they were about the same size as the burlap pieces and just put the white paper with letter behind it. I was able to see most of the black print through the burlap and just painted over top of it. I hope that makes sense. I was going to cut the letters out and make a stencil but this was way easier! For paint- I couldn't find a coral colour I liked so I bought a small tester can of house paint in the colour I wanted. For the starfish I used acrylic craft paint. Both of them worked great! Also some of the burlap was crinkled and bent so I just ironed the pieces before painting them on medium heat!
  3. Nothing. They wouldn't want anything like that I don't think. I know my FI could really care less about that sort of thing so I really doubt that he will do anything. What were you planning on doing?
  4. Ok sooooo its been a really good weekend/ MOnday and I apparently have a bunch of updates! Sorry to inundate you guys with so much! But I also received my coral organza sashes in the mail today which was super exciting! I bought them off ebay for like 35$ for 50 of them and they shipped in less then 3 weeks! We also received all of our engagement photos today! I cannot wait to get home and look at them! And lastly I purchased my wedding band today!!!! I cannot wait to get it! I had to send it out to get sized but should receive it back in about a week or so! It took me forever to decide on a band, but ultimately I went with my first instinct; I just ended up going with a bigger diamond weight of the ring (its 0.25 ctw). I love it sooooooo much, its perfect with my e-ring!! And I love it on its own as well! These pictures don't even really do it justice! And not to mention it was on sale for 50$ plus I had a $100 credit for doing a survey online so I got it a great deal on it! I am soo happy with my choice!
  5. Have you made your decision yet Ceecee?
  6. I also made a Burlap Banner this weekend. I had planned on buying one off Etsy and then realized I could probably make it for much cheaper. I bought burlap for about 1.45$ and I already had the paint, so this cost me pretty much nothing lol! I just cut the burlap into squares, printed off lettering that I liked (same font that I used on my invitations) and then cut the letters into squares and placed them behind the burlap. I was able to see the outline of the letter through the burlap and painted over top of it! It was sooooo easy to do. All I have left to do is glue the twine to the back (which means finally buying a glue gun lol!). I am going to hang this on my Guest Book table (as I am sure you could have guessed). I also painted wooden letters which spell out L O V E for the table in the same colour. And will have a vase with some flowers and of course starfish. Also I am going to use a frame (probably with burlap as the background) and write out "Please Sign Our Guestbook". I am so excited to see how it all comes together but think it will look great! I found these awesome flowers at Winners which I am going to use for my centerpieces. I have decided to go with the glass vases instead of the coral one. What do you guys think? Set up for the head table plus the starfish and candles you can see below. The LOVE letters and the coral vase will be used on the guest book table. The unfinished burlap banner. Anyhow I am super excited with how everything is turning out and I am super impressed with how crafty I can be when I put my mind to it!
  7. I found my shoes this weekend! I will be wearing an old pair of small heels I have worn as a bridesmaid (they were just perfect for my wedding dress) for the ceremony and then I have purchased these sandals to switch into after the ceremony. I love them so much! They are super tropical and will serve as my something blue! Oh yeah and they were on sale at Winners for $15!! And please don't mind the sizing stickers... ugh WInners if only you didn't put those stickers on! They have been removed as of now lol!
  8. I found my reception shoes this weekend!! I am going to wear a pair of small heels that I have worn as bridesmaid shoes for the ceremony part. They match my dress and are the perfect height for the length of my dress. And then I am switching into sandals after the ceremony. I am in love with them and the best part they were only $15 a Winners! I had seen them before but were 40$ and this time they were on sale, so I really couldn't pass them up! Plus they'll serve as my something blue (or you know turquoise!). And seriously could they be any more tropical with a pineapple on them? Hahaha
  9. Ebay! Just search ebay and I got them fairly cheap and free shipping... then I bought tanks in coral for my girls at Giant Tiger!
  10. I am so glad you decided! I think I would have ended up more confused lol! But I think you made the right decision and will look stunning no matter what!
  11. hahaha! I have faith! Did you find anything last night?
  12. Kay can you tell me which Etsy vendor you purchased your embroidered handkerchiefs from? I know you posted it on here somewhere! I am looking to get one for my dad! Also were you pleased with the price and quality of the hanky and stitching?
  13. I agree I don't like the belt nearly as much. The flower applique is ok but personally I prefer the other applique or plain. Hopefully we'll actually help you make a decision! But just know whatever you chose you will look amazing!
  14. Hahaha I definitely would if I lived near you lol!
  15. I have to be honest when I was reading your comment I was thinking "without" cause this dress is gorgeous on its own, but when I saw the photo with the applique I was even more WOW'd!!! This dress is absolutely gorgeous! And I think the applique makes it look more complete and have more of an "umpf" factor as you put it! I say without hesitation "Applique, all the way!"
  16. Where did you get those flowers? I am looking for coral flowers and am having the hardest time to find them. I am in Canada! Any chance you'd be willing to sell them now that your wedding is over? They are gorgeous!
  17. Yeah definitely ask them what the bottom line is! I am so excited for yoU! I love bargaining!
  18. Are you having a legal ceremony there? Then they probably need that information for the legal aspect. I am only doing a symbolic ceremony as we are having a catholic service here and thought it would be easier to just do it legally in Canada as well. So I don't think I had to fill that information out - just what we wanted to reserve for our wedding!
