The girl I found that was cheaper didn't do a terrible job, but it definitely didn't turn out good. A friend of my husband's who is a hairdresser ended up gifting me my updo, and the makeup that I applied myself is mostly from MAC. The lip colour is "Plumful" and I used their "Soar" lip pencil. I coloured my lips in with the pencil fully first, and then put the lipstick on top. Doing that helped it stay on a bit more. The photos make it look a little more pink than it is in person, it's actually a bit more plum coloured. (Hence the name Plumful haha) Here's a photo for reference: I forgot to mention, I know it doesn't apply to you csho or tricia-m since you're both getting married elsewhere, but if anyone else that is getting married in the Mayan Rivera happens to read this thread... I've started a little decor rental business with the items from our wedding, plus some other rustic vintage decor I've managed to pick up along the way. I have lots of mason jars, lanterns, a couple of birdcages, lots of bottles and vases, all at a very fair price. No jacked up wedding prices!! If you want a Style Me Pretty or Ruffled type of wedding without a huge price tag, I'm your gal. Please PM me for more info! Thanks MRSHK! I am definitely going to check out those colours and see if they look good on me. And congrats on your business! I'd definitely be contacting you if I were getting married in Mexico! Your wedding was just gorgeous!

Ladies I finally ordered my wedding band and it should be here just before we leave LOL man could I have left that any longer! but that was the last big thing on my list so I am almost there! 40 days! Soooooo exciting! Do you have a picture of your wedding band? I'd love to see it!

Can't wait!

And I was going to bring full blown centre pieces but decided flower petals and finger starfish would do. Good luck, Im sure you will figure out a way to get it all down there Thanks! Yes I am definitely not doing OOT bags.. I like the idea of them, but I just know the people coming I don't think would really use any of it. I love my centrepieces so much so I am really happy to be bringing them. I don't really need a sign... at the end of the day its not going to make or break my wedding and I really doubt I'll think back to my wedding and think "I wish I had that sign" lol! But if I were having it here I definitely would!! Its really hard to keep things at bay, I see all these awesome ideas on pinterest and on this website and I always have to think :OK do I really need this?
  9. These are great... omg I keep wanting to bring more décor but I really need to stop... I made a list of everything I am bringing already and I don't even know how I'll get it all there lol! I'd like to a sign like this but I think I'll really have to see if I can fit any more!

  13. Soooo exciting!!! And yeah it will probably be nice to have a little "alone" time on the plane because the rest of the week will be spent with everyone anyway! I can't believe how quickly it is coming! But I am sooo excited to hear how it went and see all your photos!!!
  14. Thanks Jolene! That's awesome! I wouldn't have even known where to start with this!
  15. I have started making a planning thread in word - so that when it comes down to the time to actually post it I won't have too much to do... but its so long already like 5 pages lol! And I have only gotten to my bridesmaids dresses lol! I know Lydia did a planning thread, but are any of you also doing one?
  16. Thanks! I am just trying to decide which will be easier and cheaper! I might have to see if I can figure out how to do it on my computer!
  17. For those of you that have made a Pre-Travel Brochure - did you use Vistaprint? Or just create your own and print it on your own paper?
  18. Ohhh Lydia! That's sooooo awesome to hear! And looks like you guys had a blast! That's so awesome that they organized a flashmob! Soooo much fun! I can't wait to see some more photos!!!!

I really don't remember how I found my vendors lol I'm sure it was just a google search. Happy planning of your wedding! Thank you! You are right! I will definitely look into it!
  20. Wow I love these! They are awesome! Great job! I am sure your wedding was beautiful!
  21. Wow!!! This all looks amazing! I love the piñatas! I really want one, but we're getting married in Cuba and I am not sure if they have anything like that available there. And I would be too worried of it breaking on the trip there to bring it with me. Your wedding will definitely be amazing!
  22. When I first started looking I knew I wanted the ILA. I did look into other resorts and almost went to another one but the spa terrace just did it for me. I could not see myself getting married anywhere else but on that terrace! Also I know every year it changes and it depends where you are flying from, but when we got our group quote end of April 2013 we got an amazing deal $1177 taxes included from Halifax and now she continues to send us the quotes and its up to $1514 so I'd recommend checking for pricing in April 2014! Oh and congratulations on your engagement!!!
