Bridesmaid Dresses
csho replied to kdnolan's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I purchased mine Bridesmaids their dresses. I paid about 75$ each for their dresses but I got them second hand but are in perfect condition. The great thing about destination weddings is you don't necessarily need to go with bridal store dresses... you could go to any store and purchase dresses for a lot of cheaper then "bridesmaid dresses". -
What did other put in their bags/kits? I am planning on making these up for my girlfriends, but am not 100% sure what all I should put in? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I know I know same here! I am just frustrated because I can't figure out how to add new photos! I can only post photos that I had previously uploaded! Wow Feb 1st is coming soon too!

I don't know if you'll have time but if you remember and have time can you take photos of the palapas for me? I've seen some photos but would like shot from one side to the other showing all palapas! Anyway if you don't remember I won't blame you since I am sure you'll be super busy all week! What day do you leave?

Bridesmaid Dresses
csho replied to kdnolan's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thanks! Yeah I just randomly googled it and a kijiji link came up and I was like these are perfect! I got them both for $150! They are regular $200 dresses, so I saved a great deal on these as I wanted to pay for them for the girls. -

This is a long shot, but I found mine on kijiji. Its similar to Craigslist for those non-Canadians. They just happened to be the colour and style I wanted and they turned out to be the right sizes as well. I couldn't believe it! -

Faux Flowers For Ceremony/reception/centerpieces
csho replied to lydiasusi's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I think it used to be tacky because they didn't have great options, but now a days you can get faux flowers that are real looking. Plus this is your day not theirs! If you don't want to spend the money on flowers and won't care if you have real or fake flowers then what is it to them? The flowers I got are great! In Cuba its very hard to get the flowers you really want and I had a certain look in mind and was able to achieve this using the faux flowers whereas had I gone with what is available in Cuba I wouldn't have been able to achieve this look. I'd rather go with I want on my day then care about what others would think. At the end of the day its your wedding day and you need to be happy with how it was... others aren't invested in your wedding like you are! -
I don't think I am posting this correctly... although it initially shows up when I post every time I come back on the photos or attachments are gone!

@@Linz1131 YAY! I am excited for you! Not sure if you live in Canada or the US, that might make a difference. I live in Canada and all in all it took about a month for processing and shipping (which took the longest). But I am guessing if you live in the US it will take less time. When I saw it, I just knew I had to have it too its sooo pretty! I am actually excited for you! I hope you love it!

Hey ladies I need some help! I can't decide which colour to write with on my escort cards. I originally thought I'd love the taupe (brown) colour but now I am not sure. The reddish coral matches but not sure if it will be too much of one colour, or if I should go with the turquoise... my colours are coral, taupe, and white. BUt I could add in a pop of turquoise but I am not 100% sure I really want to. I know this isn't really that big of a deal but I still want it to look the best it can! So I'd love your feedback. Also the other photo is of a sign I made for our escort cards and then I am going to place them in a tray with sand.

Hmmm I totally thought it was there. But now I can't find it at all Hope it works this time It only comes up as a word document. But hopefully you'll be able to see it. @@BeachBrideToBe I sent some of this information on my invitations and then directed guests to my website that had a bunch of information. I am going to send these Pre-Travel Brochures only to guests who have confirmed they are coming to the wedding. I am sending them about 6 weeks ahead of time along with luggage tags I made for everyone.

@@Linz1131 here is the link... it looks like its gone up in price since I purchased it. but if you're willing to spend the money it really is so gorgeous! I cannot wait to wear it and I feel like its something you can wear again if you travel down south with a dress or a beach party or something! https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/113708345/rhinestone-starfish-bracelet-rhinestone?ref=shop_home_active_3

I am bringing my own vases but depending on where you are going your resort might be able to help you out! -
I love the starfish bracelet.... its absolutely gorgeous in person! It was a bit pricey but I think it was worth it. I can send you the etsy link if you're interested.

I think I figured it out! I had to go and start a new topic to be able to add the attachment like you said, but I didn't start the new topic just added the file. Now I think its in my file. Anyhow here my DIY pre-travel brochure! Let me know what you think!

Ok no problem! I am used to the old version of this website and am finding it a bit difficult to get used to the new version! Anyway yours is awesome!
-
Awesome! I am going to check it out! I might have to add it in to my pre travel brochure as well! I also made a pre-travel brochure. I'd like to add a clip of it, but I am not sure how! @@deedeelala can you tell me how you got yours on here?

Looks great! You might as well get this stuff out of the way! I did the same, that way you don't have to worry about it when the time comes and you can go back and change things if need be! I don't know if you have already printed these out, but I was reading through and on the first page in the first sentence talking about soaking up the sun and sand on the beach, the beach part is written as one word "thebeach" you may be aware of it, but just in case I thought I would point out so you can fix it before you send it out! Hopefully I didn't offend you! Also love that packing list where do you find that?

Yeah we wanted to save money as well. And that was about half the cost of the rest of the wedding and that just seemed too much for me. In the end I am happy with the choice we made because we will have great photos at a price that was reasonable for us and we are supporting the a Cuban photographer. And he has really great reviews.
