  1. Hello Brides!! I created my pre-travel brochure. I am planning on sending this out about 6 weeks before we depart... so about 6 weeks from now! Just wanted to get some feedback on it! Do you think I have the right type of information on it... is there anything I am missing that could be helpful? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks! bdw.docx
  2. Will there be a table nearby or an alter that you could set it on either in a vase or just laying down? I am trying to figure out what to do with mine... I asked my sister to be my MOH but I also asked her to officiate our ceremony, as the person we originally wanted to do it can't make it, so now I am wondering where we will put our bouquets... It might be much for SIL (bridmesmaid) to hold them all!
  3. I am purchasing small bottles of rum when I get to cuba and tying them with Thank you tags. I think its a nice souvenir that most people who purchase anyhow. I have a few non-drinkers and for them I will purchase coffee. I think for Mexico the tequila or wedding cookies are a great idea!
  4. I don't follow a paleo diet... I've heard lots of people talk about it though. I am on a mission to lose another 20lbs before May... I just reached 10lbs since Jan 6! But I have just been tracking my calories and working out most days of the week. What does following paleo include? It pretty much is just eating things that come from the earth or that are natural and not processed? Could you tell me a bit more?
  5. @@DANIELLE03 how was your wedding?! I hope it was everything you imagined!
  6. If not... there was another bride who had the same or very similar dress. Her name was Lindsay. Her photos are from march 27, 2013. She is still pretty active on the group too! So if Melissa doesn't answer I'd try her!
  7. @@amandab36 did you post on the fb site with the brides name? I know there was another bride on there I think Lindsay who had the same dress... maybe just post with their names on the wall and they can answer you!
  8. Omg I love this! I wish I had of thought of something like this! If I hadn't already purchased my guestbook I would have used this idea!
  9. @@misbosox there is a way to do it... I thought that I wasn't going to be able to either but I did put in pictures. I can't remember exactly how I did it. I think thought you have to kind of click on the side of it and insert the photo and then click bring forward and then you can move the phots/clip art around. It can be a little annoying but it can be done!
  10. I ended up paying closer to $300 when it was all said and one making them on my own, but we also sent out 67 invitations and we don't have a printer so we had them printed at Staples and we ended up changing one of the boarding passes as we're also having a wedding ceremony here in the church so we had to re-print another 20 pages that we shouldn't have had to. I am probably one of the least creative people, but really had fun making these, however, it did take a lot of time and effort, but they were so worth it! With that said, I could not have done it without the basic template, and it does take some time to figure out what you're doing. Also I wouldn't waste money on the corner puncher... we just cut out ourselves... it took a long time (I think in the end my fiancé cut them all out and it did take about 8 hours total) so if time is a concern you may want to just purchase them.
  11. @@Kay6356 HAPPY WEDDING DAY!!!! Hope you have an amazing day! Cannot wait to hear all about it!
  12. Honestly I would give it until Aug 15th or a week before that, because people who tell you they are coming may not come at the end of the day and people who say no, might last minute decide to come.
  13. I used online RSVP... a few people used it... we only sent paper rsvps to people we know don't use computers and they didn't even bother sending them back... Only 2 out of like 6... I'd say skip the paper responses.. they are expensive and people probably won't use them anyway. Realistically the people who book will let you know (or your TA will let you know if you're using one as a group).
  14. @@liz24 I was looking for plastic vases as well but couldn't find any in Canada or any companies that deliver to Canada. I remember finding one company who carried them but I can't remember who it was. I ended up just buying glass vases from the dollarstore and am going to wrap them really well in clothes and hope they don't break!
  15. Hello Brides, I purchased a beautiful hair flower; however, I found a different one that matches my dress better. This one is beautiful and classic. I just find it a bit too classic for the dress I purchased. I paid about $30 CDN for it and am looking to re-coup most of the costs, I am asking $25 plus the buyer pays shipping. Please PM me if you are interested! Thanks!
  16. Amazing review Lydia!!! I loved reading it again lol and I love that you got the pictures into their proper places! Those photos of you and Etienne the first morning as husband and wife... WOW!
  17. I think WeddingDJ is one of them that I've heard about, but I've never used it myself.
  18. I have also registered... albeit I only have about 12 items on my registry because my fiancé and I purchased a house in 2012 together and honestly have everything we really need. I mean there are a few things here and there that would be nice but are certainly not necessary (we've clearly survived the last two years without it!). But I know some people will ask and have no idea what to give, so we just registered at Sears and I will only give out the information to people who ask. I've let my family and my in-laws to be know so if anyone asks them they can let them know as well. Also I pretty much did it all online and will most likely go in to pick out a few more things.
  19. Yes I have heard that! Our ceremony is at 3pm so from what I have heard we should be ok at that time!
  20. Oh that's you on facebook!!! I just saw your comment on the fb page lol! That's exactly what we are doing! We are having our ceremony on the spa terrace at 3pm, then dinner at the palapas and private party at the disco. We are doing a salsa dance for our first dance (we've been dancing for over 2 years now) and so we liked the idea of the hard surface for the dance which is why we choose the disco. Also I like that there is seating. We also hired Alex for our wedding! So excited for the photos! His work is wonderful!
