Woohoo!! Me too! I've got my OOT bags all ready and packed, all my wedding decorations are packed! BTW - here's what I've chosen for my OOT bags: - Welcome book (includes a thank you letter, info about the resort, some spanish phrases, and information regarding the wedding day like where to go for the ceremony etc) - Mini Purell from the dollar store - Chapstick from the dollar store - Custom souvenir magnet from Vista Print - Custom made mix CD with all our wedding songs All I have to do now is sync my ipods with our wedding music, and pack my clothes and I am ready to go!! Actually I still need to shop for my wedding night lingerie but that's easy

Best Way To Reach 150 Posts?!?!? To Access The Good Stuff!
MrsSheppardToBe replied to cneedham's topic in Newbies!!
I don't think I'll make it to 150 before my wedding, lol. -
I've never really understood the importance of engagement photos. I personally would rather use photos from vacations that FI and I have taken together instead. To me it just seems like an unnecessary added expense... there's way too many ways to waste money when planning a wedding!! You just gotta filter through everything and decide where you want your money to be spent.

Here are a few things I learned when I was in the process of choosing my resort: 1) Take your time - I spent around 6 months looking at resorts online before I finally chose the perfect one for me. There's no rush. You need to look at a lot of different factors; Wedding packages, Wedding venues for the ceremony and reception, Vacation package pricing for your guests, etc. 2) Don't let your TA make the decision for you or push you towards certain resorts. This is YOUR wedding and you need to decide which resort is best for you. This is one of the biggest decisions you will make throughout this whole process! Don't book a resort unless you are 110% happy with your decision. 3) You need to know what price range your guests are comfortable paying to come to your wedding. Otherwise, you'll end up booking a really nice resort and may be disappointed to find out that some people won't be able to come due to costs. I really wanted to get married at Dreams or NOW, but my budget was $1600 per person so I couldn't book those hotels. I ended up finding one within budget that I loved just as much. This is a really fun, but confusing time in your wedding planning adventure! Enjoy it!! This forum is AMAZING and has lots of advice and information

The night before.....???
MrsSheppardToBe replied to selassie11's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I think doing that will add to the anticipation of the wedding day, getting to see your fiance for the first time just as you're walking down the aisle. -
Thanks @@Tanya81 I hope they wouldn't do anything with it since it is just craft sand (not from the beach or anything) and the colors are hot pink and orange and there's glitter in the sand so they should know it's not real sand. Anyways I'm thinking I will just pack the sand in my checked luggage going to Mexico, but then coming home it will have to be in my carry on because my sand ceremony frame is pretty big.

The night before.....???
MrsSheppardToBe replied to selassie11's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I've asked my FI to sleep somewhere else the night before. I think it'll be nice to wake up on my wedding day, just me. I'm looking forward to having an entire morning of relaxing and seeing my FI for the first time that day as I'm walking down the aisle. -
Song for the sand ceremony?
MrsSheppardToBe replied to SDbeachgirl's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I won't bother with a song for my sand ceremony. -
Has anyone used the WeddingDJ app? I haven't downloaded it yet, but I'm curious to see what other brides think of this app. I'm not using a DJ, so I need something to organize my music.

Exactly one month from this moment I will be getting ready to walk down the aisle!! SO EXCITED! This weekend was so productive! I've finished my OOT bags, almost done with my music selections, and I've made my seating chart and table numbers. I also started packing my wedding decorations in my carry on bags. It's getting so close!!

Registry
MrsSheppardToBe replied to pddcmc's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I've made a Honeymoon Registry for my Disneyland honeymoon. I'm going to have a bridal shower, and since I'm also doing a reception when we get back (it'll be a brunch for all my family members) I feel it's perfectly acceptable to register for gifts. I think most wedding guests want the bride and groom to have a registry... it really helps with choosing a gift. I didn't include the registry info in my actual wedding invite, but I did include the registry info with my at-home reception invitations. -
Yeah, that sounds about right. You can always put down more than 10 deposits to secure that rate. Never hurts also to check with family members/friends to see if they want to put down their own deposit. The rates are ALWAYS subject to change, unless you have already paid enough deposits for all your guests. If you put down 10 deposits now, then only 10 guests will be able to get that rate. When the 11th person books, then they have to pay whatever the rate is at that time. I know it sucks, but that's how it goes....
