  1. Vane23 - Did you end up going with Jochy for your wedding? If so, do you mind showing me some pics? We are very interested in booking him for our wedding in November. Thanks!
  2. Thank you ladies! I hope you don't mind me taking some of your ideas for the website?!
  3. safety75 - I think I might do that also. I'll just wait and see what my group size is going to be when I send out the invitations and then go from there. I didn't realizse there was so much to consider when doing invitations! Krystal084 - I have actually seen that on a few invitation websites! I think it's a neat idea, and it gives a sense of humor.I think if I didn't have a bilingual family I might do something like that, otherwise, I would have to have two translations!
  4. Does anyone know if there is a vendor fee at Majestic Elegance? I am looking for it on their website and cannot find it.
  5. Hey ladies, Is it okay not to include menu options on the RSVP card? We are not sure just how many people are actually going, and if we don't have too many then we were thinking we could just have them choose from the menu. Plus, I still haven't worked out the food menu.
  6. Does anyone have a website that I can take a look at? I'm having some difficulties putting mine together.
  7. What sort of wording should be used on the accommodations page? I'm having a hard time putting it all together.
  8. Has anyone done an evening reception at Jellyfish? If so, how did the pictures come out? My ceremony is booked for 4:30pm at the church, and I don't have much control over that. I just want to make sure that the lighting will be okay when the reception takes place after that.
  9. Can anyone tell me what the facebook page for Jellyfish brides is? Thanks!
  10. EVKnowsitall - I have been getting the same thing from my guests. People have complained to me that it's not convenient for them, and that we should have taken everyone into consideration. It really gets me frustrated! In the end it's my wedding, and people forget that I am not trying to accomodate my schedule to everyone else's needs, otherwise we would never get married! I just wanted to make sure I was not the only one going through this.
  11. Hello ladies, I have made reservations at Majestic Elegance, but I wanted to know if any bride has given their guests the option of staying at Majestic Colonial. Thanks!
  12. laraandshane- I have the document with the church requirements if you still need it.
  13. The first time I ordered samples from them, I didn't realize that I could upgrade the paper quality. And so, after going to an actual store where I live and finding out that regular invites with nothing special will cost me $600, I decided to give Wedding Paper Divas another try. I ordered new samples in the Pearl Shimmer.
  14. JennCarlson That's also a concern for me, but I have read that other brides have tipped 10% of the total bill to each vendor.
  15. lmanzi219- As far as hair/makeup goes, I heard some really good reviews on Krystie Ann. Check her out and see what you think.
  16. mimiq - Thank you so much for the review! I have been looking forward to reading it. -Just a quick question about ME, I have seen in a few reviews that people have complained about "musty" smells in the rooms. Did you experience that at all? -What was the price difference when you accommodated Menu I to your own liking? - Lastly, what order did you do the first dance, cutting of the cake, etc.? I have been trying to do my research on what is a good order to follow but its a little confusing. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  17. EVKnowsitall - There are a lot of inclusions in the price for your reception back home. I am still trying to figure out where we would do it here where I live. I know that it's hard because we are going from having a big wedding to a very small one, because not everyone can make it to Punta Cana. In the end, you are still doing a reception back home for everyone that couldn't attend, and I'm sure that will be fun! Also, have you thought of doing an After Party? I know that you said you would have liked a big party, maybe it can be continued after the AHR.
  18. breluke18- If you are planning on doing the "legal" part of the wedding in Dominican Republic just remember to check what the requirements are. I thought I read somewhere that you need to be in the country for at least three days before the wedding. Not sure if that's correct.
  19. breluke18- I contacted a couple of TA's this past weekend and they told me that it was too early for quotes. I was told that I needed to wait till January when the quotes would be open for November 2013. What one of them did was that they provided a quote for Oct 2013, so that way we could have an idea as to how much it would be. Let me know if they provide you with info!
  20. Hi ladies, I was actually thinking about sending out less formal invitations for the reception back home about 1.5 months before the event. I want to keep my Save-the-Dates for the wedding separate from the AHR. I'm having enough problems trying to figure out the correct wording for the formal invitations since its for a destination wedding. Thanks!
  21. Annie1988- I really love the look of this church, and so I think it would be worth the drive over there. We want to stay at Majestic Elegance. I think the church is around 30 minutes away from both locations; Majestic Elegance and Jellyfish.
  22. Hello ladies, Does anyone know what the process is for booking a chunk of rooms at Majestic Elegance? We are planning on getting married in a year, and I am still looking for a good travel agent in my area. Thanks!
  23. Annie1988- Here are some photos for Nuestra Señora del Pilar. I think it is located about 30 minutes from Jellyfish.
  24. Annie1988- Below are some photos for Nuestra Senora del Pilar. I think it is about 30 minutes from Jellyfish. What sort of information would you like to know?
