  1. Don't worry about the weather. We are atill down here for our honeymoon and its nothing but sunshine can't wait to post pics. Good luck to everyone!
  2. Thank you! Yeah, that's what we read too, but we have so much stuff that if they need to break them, that's fine. But at least thise who would go in just to steal something, they won't bother
  3. Oh! And luggage locks. You all probably thought about this, but we hadn't until my cousins wife mentioned it.
  4. Alright party people. We're heading out this morning. I just wanted to give one final "Safe travels, good luck, early congrats" to all of you ladies, as I'll be in Mexico the next 18 days. You guys are awesome and I can't wait to come back and hear how beautiful all of your weddings were. I'll try to get on here while i'm down there to give updates to a few of you Playa Del Carmen ladies on what's available on 5th and at Wal-mart. Two things we did last minute, that I wanted to suggest: 1. Call your bank and let them know you'll be out of the country 2. Updated my phone plan to International Coverage for a temporary period. It's $.99/minute, $.50 text messages out and $.05 text messages in. I also paid $25 for 100GB of data while I'm down there b/c that costs more as well when you go out of the US. Since we'll be there for an extended period of time, I wanted to be sure I could post pics, reach out to the fam, etc. That's it! Have an amazing time, ladies! And remember, if something is stressing you out at this point in the game, cut it out of the agenda. It's not worth your stress, you should be nothing but elated...you're getting married and you're the bride to be!!! xoxoxoxo Best Wishes Jessica
  5. No!!! Do not get this upset over wine. It's wine...maybe the smallest thing you need to worry about. My girlfriend gave me good advice when i was panicking over little details and she goes, "Jessica, no one cares about the stupid programs, the center pieces, the decorations. They are flying down there because they want to see you and Rory get married. That's it. People are there to see your love, not the other stupid ass shit you are worrying over." And it's so true!!!! All the stuff i was worrying about, I can't recall at any of the weddings I've ever been too. And You are having a destination wedding, people can't expect top wine from Napa. don't put so much pressure on yourself. It's going to be beautiful, amazing and perfect. Whether it's boxed wine or fine wine People will understand.
  6. We leave this weekend!!! HOLY CRAP. We fly out this Saturday and then people start rolling in Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for the June 15th wedding. I can't wait Talk to you ladies soon
  7. CONGRATS, Madison!!!!! Lots of happiness and well wishes being sent your way
  8. I LOVE Angus and Julia!!! I always wanted to dance to their "Just a Boy" song, but we found a John Butler Trio song that is perfect for the two of us. But man...love that duo I feel like I haven't been on here as much b/c I've been so freaking busy. I hope you ladies are doing fabulous. I leave in 2.5 weeks so between getting all the final stuff done for the wedding and making sure I have everything covered for work while I'm out for 18 days...I'm a BIT overwhelmed. Oh, and we're having poeple booking the last couple days. Crazy. I keep telling myself to not get overwhelemd and just feel the positive emotions. When I do that...I'm in a very very happy place I just need to enjoy the ride as it only happens once
  9. Hahaha. That's awesome! I've heard that happen to some of my friends. I love it when its the guy that becomes the diva in those moments. Hahahah
  10. My pleasure!!! Here's my person email if you need anything else: [email protected] For the language, you can request for an English speaking judge/officiant for $25 or $50. It's worth it though in my opinion. I have a question for Trace and Sandy. When you had your ewdding on the beach, do you have to sign the papers before you kiss/say I do? I saw one wedding on youtube where they exchanged their vows, kissed, said I do and then signed the papers and THEN walked back down the aisle. Obviously I'd like to do the paperwork before our personal vows, kiss and "I now pronounce you..." 5 more weeks!!!!!! holy crap yay.
  11. Hi Deanne! Sorry for the late response, work and wedding prep have been crazy. One month to go! Anyways, they don't have a chapel on the resort. If you're thinking of having a catholic ceremony, that's something you should know. My fiance and I were hoping to have a Catholic ceremony, but they will only have one in a church, so we're doing a legal ceremony in Mexico and then having the Catholic church recognize us when we get back. Mexico will be our official wedding date though. I've heard pretty good reviews about the food, especially considering that it's an all-inclusive. We'll see though! The Jungle holds 80 people and I can send you everything I have over pm. Here is my personal email too: [email protected] Hope all is well!
  12. Woohoo! That's so much fun! My San Diego girls through me a staycation bachelorette on Saturday and it was awesome. I agree, it's so touching the amount of love you get and makes you so happy and appreciative of the thoughtful people in your life. I fly to Virginia in two weeks to do my bridal shower and bachelorette with my hometown girls. I'm probably most excited for that one b/c it's the friends and family I've known my whole life. So happy you had a wonderful weekend. You deserve it with all the DIY projects and thoughtfulness you've put into your wedding to make sure that your guests have a great trip.
  13. PS: I really need to stop responding to this thread on my phone. I look drunk with all my misspellings. Haha.
  14. The grrom and grromsmen are wearing whote panta and a teal linen, long sleeve top with the sleeves rolled up. We are having the dads wear the same white pants, like the groomsmen and a tommy bahama shprt sleeve shirt in the same color. The ring bearers will be the same outfit as the guys, but mini version
  15. Hey Megan! I got it at www.the-flag-makers.com. Best price I could find for one.
  16. I just ordered our beach flag!!! Since we'll have 90 people, I wanted to have a "beacon" for people to know where to find the wedding group on the beach. So if they want to join, they can...and if they want to be alone, they know where not to go. lol. When my fiance proposed, it was a random Wednesday after work so I had no idea and just thought we were catching a sunset. We live in San Diego, so it wasn't abnormal. But there was a random guy walking buy on the beach who took a photo of the proposal from his iPhone! Afterwards he came up and was like..."I think I have a picture you may want". And holy crap, thank God he was there! Anyways, I'm getting it blown up on a flag as our "Wedding Crew Beach Beacon". I also plan on dancing around the lobby with it while people arrive...I will likely scare some guests, but my wedding people will know what's going on. haha.
  17. TJ Maxx...that's my go-to for everything. Love that place. Here's the seller i got the necklaces from: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Emilyjewelry4u?ref=seller_info. She's got an awesome selection for a really good price
  18. Hi Goose! haha How big is your wedding going to be? That will determine your options as far as ceremony and reception locations. There's no charge for adding your own decorations. There's no difference between the two hotels, they're mirror images of each other and it's just what they call the left and right side. Have you looked at their packages? I can email you the one I received last August. Prices have gone up since then, but they go up each year. But it will answer almost all of your questions.
  19. They should! Where are you having your reception? We're doing the Tropical Restaurant. I would love to bounce ideas off of you and exchange info. You are getting married two weeks before us!!! How freaking excited are you? It's 44 days until we depart and I have been floating. haha.
  20. Look at you!!!! These turned out beautiful! I LOVE how the fans turned out. It's making me want to redo mine. haha. Good job, chica!
  21. Holy bridesmaid gifts!!! Soooo.... I'm just going to throw this out there, but if one of your bridesmaids should (God forbid) miss their flight or fall ill, I'll gladly step in as "sub-bridesmaid" if it means receiving that colossal gift bag. Just sayin'.... My bridesmaids are getting: silk floral robes, chunky seafoam green necklaces for the wedding day (etsy), gold bangles (Forever21) for the wedding day, sunglasses and a tote. I have 8 of them, so I tried to get a lot of stuff that they could use again, without spending over a grand. Did you get your Armani sunglasses on Groupon? I saw them on there and thought of that too...i freaking LOVE that site. 44 days until departure...WOOO-FREAKING--HOO!!!!!!
  22. Been there! lol. We are conflicted souls, us women. I didn't want him to really assist with the DIY stuff, just b/c i thought I could do it better. But one Sunday, I was sitting on the floor cutting and tying over 100 ribbons and he came back from a 4 hour relaxing bike ride along the beach and bay...I flipped b/c while he enjoying the sun on his shoulders and the wind at his back, i was crouched over like the hunch-back of notre dame tying stupid ribbons to freaking fans and survival kits. All I wanted was for him to "ask". But he was like, "i thought you said you like this stuff and when i did ask, you didn't want help". Which he was oh so right. haha. They actually have a book about it, "Survival guide for Grooms". Hilarious and so true. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Everything-Groom-Book-Survival-Guide-Men-Shelly-Hagen-Paperba-/160972002882#vi-content He has been a gem though, anything I throw his way, he catches with enthusiasm. He just needs to be asked...it's a man thing
