  1. I just finished my "hybrid" bouquet: sheashell-pearl-crystal-feather-tulips! My first floral DIY project, and I am so happy with it! I'm glad I could use artificial tulips as these were the flowers my FI got me on the day we first kissed... Will be posting step-by-step instructions in DIY section of the forum.
  2. I was just wondering: which location did you choose for your ceremony? Are you going to have it on the beach, in the gazebo, on the terrace somewhere around main building? We are thinking to have ours on the private beach, but I saw one of the recent reviews on Tripadvisor, and it looks like you won't get as much privacy on the beach as on the terrace for example...
  3. That's exactly my plan! The only difference is that I'm going to have birdcage veil with the flower clip. My hair length is barely shoulder length, so I'm crossing my fingers the wind won't be a problem.
  4. For my dress I contacted the sellers who already offer the model I want. Then I inquired both Denia's bridal and Babyonline if they can make a custom dress based on pictures I sent. Both replied quickly and in fairly good English. Both were asking pretty much the same price. Why Denia's bridal over Babyonline? Firstly there was another dress I was considering from Denia's with actual images, so I could see and more or less judge their quality of work. Then they are offering a better shipping method for free and they were a bit cheaper and more flexible on price. I'd suggest contacting all 4 sellers to inquire about the custom replica. When you get the replies it's much easier to make a decision. Good luck!
  5. I ordered my reception dress on DHgate and so far it turned out to be quite a positive experience. I went with seller charm_baby. I was a little bit nervous because they don't have a fully positive feedback. I sent my questions to the seller before placing my order to make sure all my expectations from the dress are met. It was not even as much of telling them what to do, as to keep a written confirmation on what we agreed upon in case I needed to dispute. My dress isn't perfect, but you shouldn't expect an exact replica of an original model. It's a knock off after all, and you don't pay a high price. Still I'm 95% satisfied. The seller was quick to communicate (considering 12 hour difference between the time zones), they made the dress within 3 weeks, and used DHL shipping instead of originally expected China Post, so it took only 3 days for shipping! Some other DHgate sellers that have a positive feedback and are popular among BDW brides: babyonline - http://www.dhgate.com/wholesale/store/ff8080811f457b8c011f56709bc04543.html allanhu - http://www.dhgate.com/wholesale/store/ff8080811f5fddde011f6418cfbd0f97.html weddingdress88 - http://www.dhgate.com/wholesale/store/ff8080812c71c153012c76a16a0b5cac.html I'm going to order my ceremony dress on DHgate too. I inquired Denia's Bridal (hua_yi_zhang) if they can make a custom dress that they don't list among their items. They seem to be an experienced seller with a good feedback. They will also send me the pictures of the dress before shipping it to me. Originally I was going to order my dresses on OuterInner.com, but their shipping is expensive and the choice isn't as wide as on DHgate. And right now I don't regret using DHgate.
  6. It was 125$ with shipping +25$ of customs fees. I was worrying about the strapless dress, because firstly it just must fit (otherwise you end up pulling it up constantly), and secondly it should be comfortable as this is my reception dress and I definitely plan to dance in it. But it all turned out so well!
  7. The base is satin and the layers seem to be done from some sort of chiffon-like fabric.
  8. My planning is a breeze. Well, with only 14 persons invited and up to 4 expected there is not a lot to worry about. The date is booked, the invitations are sent out. Got the reception dress this week. Not alternations needed! Will order the ceremony dress next week. Still have to: - Order FI linen shirt, pants and shorts - Choose rings - Choose/write vows - Make my birdcage veil - DIY bouquet and bout - Buy new camera and book rental lenses 14 weeks to go and I'm not stressed even a bit. The last month is going to be crazy though with all the final touch ups!
  9. Attempt #2. The pic of my dress. The skirt is a bit more ruffled than the original and it is a bit longer than I asked the seller. But the dress fits me perfectly, it's so comfortable and nicely lined inside.
  10. Every time I add a picture to my post, it's stuck in moderation... I'll try to re-post my photo shortly.
  11. I've got a Pronovias Finlandia replica. It's a knock off, so of course it doesn't look like the original 100%. But I love it anyway.
  12. It's been 3 days my post is in moderation... Wanted to share my Pronovias Finlandia replica picture. Got it on DHgate from the seller charm_baby. My dress isn't super perfect, but I'm really satisfied with it.
  13. Just got my reception dress. It's a replica of Pronovias Finlandia. Even if it's not quite the same as the original, I am so satisfied with it!
  14. My DHL Santa just delivered my reception dress! It's a replica of Pronovias Finlandia. Ordered a custom size on DHgate from charm_baby. The skirt looks a little bit more ruffled than the original, the beading on the belt is rather different and the dress is a little bit longer than I asked. But overall I am really satisfied with it (expecially for the price!). And it's also so comfortable and nicely lined inside.
