  1. I am so in! The picture did make me laugh- I was like "WHOA, hello bum...." but it's a good motivator! I think we all want our bum's and legs to look like that! I also agree- it DEFINITELY is our men that make us gain weight. So not fair! And all they have to do it change one small thing, and presto, off comes 15 pounds!
  2. GO CARLY!!!!!!!! That is amazing! Good for you! I am sure you will see a slight movement, but even if not, better than it going up!!!! I have noticed this thread is slow.... I can only do so much to keep it going! haha! And even I have been quiet on here as well. WELL, let's see..... how am I doing..... decent on eating better/ losing the weight. Have been able to keep that big jump up off, and lost a few more pounds this past week. Tonight I hope to get to the gym and do some cardio and then my boxing class, so that will help with this week. But AF will be returning..... so we shall see what she has in store. I haven't been as ravenous (yet) as I normally get in the pre-days, so either it will be mild, or I have been better able to not give in to my urges!
  3. I would have people RSVP before the final paid in full is due. That way you can send that information to the TA to follow up on, or if you are, then send out a reminder to those who have RSVP's that the final payment is due on ___ day in December. Hope that helps!
  4. Hi all, This may be a post being made with no answer to come. I found a website on here a couple of months ago (and sadly didnt bookmark it ), in which there was a store location where a member had found a bunch of things she used for DIY. It wasn't Michaels, it was a resource type of store, that had this entire bridal collection component to it. I believe it was located roughly North- east Mississauga (Dundas or Eglinton). Any GTA brides, if you have any idea what I am talking about, just send over ideas of what you think it might be! I could also be completely losing my mind, and this place does not exist at all hahaha!
  5. SERIOUSLY, Thank you to everyone who commented here. Your advice, comments, experience and patience meant the world to me in my deep dark place of hiding.
  6. haha yeah, the engagement is 2 years, we dated for 10, so it's sort of like, okay, let's just do this. WOW!!!!! 10 days!!!!!! That's sooooo cloooosseee! You must be excited!!!!! (And anxious I am sure!) Yes indeedy weddings are expensive. BUT, DW are soooo much cheaper than at at home wedding. Granted, I have no idea where I would even begin with at at home wedding, because I have ALWAYS wanted a DW. It is awesome about his promotion! So since I pay all of our bills and am the caretaker of our budget, he asked me to write it all down in a spreadsheet and to send it to him. What a difference his bi-weekly/monthy pay made. Especially since we had to increase the gas spendage, and adding in his student loan payback (which we have been deferring), as well as a monthly RRSP contribution, and bringing our savings up to around $500/month. It doesn't completely wipe us out, we have a little bit left over every month for miscellaneous, miscellanous costs. Now it's just up to me to get a better, more relevant and higher paying job and we are good! haha.
  7. a blue garter? (or with blue sewn into it? your wedding date sewn into your dressing in blue? Blue flower for your hair? Blue nails? ummm.....blue in your jewellery? blue contact lenses?? haha
  8. Thanks for the tips! Good things to remember as the wedding comes up
  9. search for mlite83. I know she did a TTD and her pictures were gorgeous and absolutely LOVED her photographer.
  10. I'm just going to be using the resort salon for my hair and makeup. It's included in my package anyways, so mind as well do it! I am considering paying for my BM's hair and makeup too, if she wants it. I havent decided on whether I am having another bridesmaid or not, as my MOH cannot make the trip.
  11. I hope everyone's week is going well! Ali, glad you are okay, and it wasn't anything super serious. Now just have to get you healthy for your wedding in less than 2 months! I managed to lose the majority of that crazy weight gain from the previous week (thank goodness!). Now it's just trying to keep on top of that and keep the losing going this week! I realized I stopped writing down what I was eating last week, so I have a couple days I have to fill in for this week and I will have to forgo last week's record keeping, as I know I won't accurately remember what I ate. Let's go ladies (and gents!!!!) Only 4 more weeks to go!!!!!!
  12. Our engagement is already two years- if we push it out, I think someone might snap (me!) haha I know we will manage, I was just having a moment of anxiety, and wasn't sharing it with FI because I felt I needed all the answers before we talked about it. Over the last couple of weeks, I have let him in on some of the numbers, and he hasn't flipped out, so I think things will be okay. This wedding is my dream, not his, so I was so worried about how he would respond to a fairly large number. He seems to understand, so here's hoping our chat this weekend goes well! I also know life happens, and if something big comes up that eats into our budget, then that will be the time to make the decision about where this wedding is headed. But worrying over the possible what ifs will drive me insane, so I have to just stop and let it go. I am fairly realistic with our expense budget anyways, for our regular, non- wedding lives. Put so much into our account to pay bills, know what our regular expenses are every month, have so much left over for entertainment, etc. and then it's putting away for the wedding. As much as I would like to say we would put away every last penny, I know that is unrealistic of us, and we aren't big partiers/ adventurers, so cutting back on the very small things we do would make us go crazy and end up resenting that we had zero fun for 2 years. On a VERY good note, FI got a promotion/ new job on Friday! It's for the same company, but into the corporate side, and a much bigger position, which came with a very nice salary package. So we know that realistically, we will basically be putting away what his new income will bring in, and still living off of what we currently are at the moment.
  13. I haven't heard back from Adventure Vallatra in weeks either (well, at all!) I am considering going with Photoshoots Vallarta. They responded same day, with a video, package prices and a very cheerful attitude. When I asked for pictures tthey have taken at Dreams, I was sent a photobook & a link and password to an entire online collection. Seriously impressed me and the prices are fantastic. I'd look them up, send them an inquiry. Pierre was so fast and so efficent with his response. Really won be over- it will be a challenge for the resort photographer to sway me away from Photoshoots. I am thinking we are probably going to be up around 40 people as well. Sitting down in a couple of weeks with both sets of parents to discuss budget and the guest list.....
  14. Okay, so I was thinking the same thing about favours vs. OOT bags. I know most people just throw away the favours, so is this considered acceptable, just having the OOT bag and not having a favour the day of?
  15. Read your newsletter! That is so amazing! A tough of story, with all the details they will need for the day of (including some possibly surprises!). I absolutely love it all! Congrats on your planning and upcoming wedding!!!!!
  16. I agree- don't lie. We told FI's parents and my parents about our plan to get married legally here before going to Mexico. We are actually getting legally married a year out from our wedding. But we won't be exchanging rings, or even saying the vows. I want the Mexico wedding to be as special as possible. Side note: My MOH told me she couldn't come because of the timing of our wedding and her work. I was sad but completely understood. My mother then tells me that we should just change the date, to accomodate her (and anyone else who the timing might not work out for), because it's not like the wedding there "really matters anyways, since we're getting legally married here". I was so shocked and hurt she said this, because we only told them we were doing it out of curtosy, and don't want to make it a big deal. The wedding in Mexico is our big deal, and for her to throw it in my face like that, made me realize that everyone is going to have an opinion, and express it to you. Regardless of whether it will be insulting or not, or offend anyone. It's your day, and I think at the end of it, your going to make some people unhappy, but as long as it is your dream, and your happy, then let everything else fall by the way side.
  17. Looks amazing so far!!!!! Congrats!!!!!! Loved your DND sign Looking forward to seeing more of the planning, guest list count and your wedding after the fact!
  18. GORGEOUS! I love the simplicity of it, but the elegance it states with the beading and the crossing under the bust
  19. I will be looking forward to seeing what your wedding looks like in May! We'll be going with the Ultimate package as well- are you only having 20 people come? We both agreed we like the Tiffany chairs better than the standard white chairs, so we will be upgrading to that. I will be getting a bridesmaid bouquet on top of the package (maybe two.... haven't decided whether or not to ask another friend of mine). We will probably do a bonfire as well (either as a welcoming event, or for our "rehearsal dinner"), and maybe the fire dancers for the reception. We are going to go with an outside photographer- I just don't like only having 50 photo's. Yes, we can have all the photo's from friends and family, but I want some really good ones of us and the whole experience. FI thinks that 30 minute video of the ceremony will be enough and refuses to get a videographer- which, fine, I now agree was a bit much for me to suggest haha. Definitely going to DIY the decorations (invites/OOT bags/programs/menus/etc.), find fake blue orchids because Eleane quoted me at $150-180 USD for 10 stems of blue orchids, which I found completely and totally ridiculous. I might look into a local florist for those- but we will see as it gets closer. What was your budget/ how close are you to keeping within it?
  20. WOO! That's insane! You posted what, 70 times in one day????
  21. Amazing!!! I don't know if we are doing a garter toss or not- guess that will come up with our budget/planning. If we are going no holds barred on guests and parents are paying the difference for their friends coming, well, then we might do a garter toss. I'm either/or on it. I see the humor and fun in it, but I wouldn't be saddened if we didn't do it.
  22. Well give yourself another day or two, posting like this and you will get there! It's not instantaneous. It might take a couple of hours to reflect you reaching 150. But once you do, it is glorious!
  23. HAHAHAHA. Only on the internet is this kind of talk completely okay and amusing and not horribly, horribly embarrassing! You'll get past it- can you switch up a routine a bit, add in a new cardio or meal that is different, to give your body a shock and jump past the plateau?
