Where Does the Photographer Eat?
Jenny2014 replied to Kate G's topic in Puerto Vallarta Wedding Vendors
I would make them feel as included as you could. Most photographers always get put out, and pushed to the side. Whoever I end up hiring, I will be sitting them with everyone, as they are just as important to me on this day as any of the guests there. Just my two cents! -
Oh Easter week was certainly rough for me! I completely and totally forgot to send my weigh in for this week- don't even know how it is Wednesday already! Sorry ladies! I do make a fairly big decision this morning. The gym I go to is coming up for renewal this month. While I absolutely love the boxing classes, I am finding I am making maybe twice a month. Then I have major guilt over not going. And it is because the class isn't until 6, and I get off work at 4:30. My intention was to get to the gym, do cardio for an hour and then do the class. I did that twice maybe. We weren't eating dinner until 7:30, 8:00, and then going to bed. So all I was doing was being a fat ass, and gaining weight, being completely counter productive with chowing down so late at night. Long story short- I am deciding not to bother renewing my membership at the gym. I learned enough boxing moves to be able to shadow box on my own, plus my gloves give you a work out routine to use without a bag, which is awesome. My plan is to change into work out gear at work, go home, do the squat challenge, and then go for a brisk walk/ jog for 30-40 minutes. On the days were there is a break for squats, I will do the shadow boxing instead. With FI's new job being downtown Toronto and me looking for a new job down in that area, it is completely pointless for me to renew a membership out here in Mississauga, when our intention is to move downtown in a few months. On top of it just being a waste of money for me, when I can do stuff for free, especially since it is warming up now. I lost 20 pounds 5 years ago over the course of 3 months, just by simply walking for 30 minutes every day. Changed up my eating habits a bit, but not drastically. I ate ice cream at least once a week and went out for dinner twice a week, so similar to what we are currently doing. (HA, not the ice cream, but we don't cook on the weekends). What do you guys think? Am I crazy? Am I just fooling myself?

Welcome welcome fellow 2014 bride! MY FI and I were in PV during the worst of the rainy season (September) and honestly, it was perfectly fine. It rained for about 20 minutes the first day, around 7 pm. Then, it rained at around 4 pm on our anniversary, again, for about 20 minutes (we were up in the mountains, so it might not have even rained at the resort!). Otherwise, it rained overnight and into the early morning and was beautiful during the day. Hence why we aren't really worried about having our wedding there in September next year. We were there during that exact time and saw the weather. Of course, FI has now jinxed it and said we won't have beautiful weather and it will rain, so I could be completely wrong. However, you are right, even some rainy weather is better than anything we get out here! Your in Mexico, it's amazing! I to am excited to see how our fellow Dreams brides weddings go this year! Congrats!!!!!

I am doing a lot of DIY projects myself. As I am only having two bridesmaids, I am just going to order a couple more bouquets for them, just basic white roses, to keep the costs down. I am on the hunt to find a florist in PV who will give me a quote for blue orchid's though. The resort quoted me at $150-$180 for 12 stems of orchids, which I find absolutely ridiculous. I know orchids are expensive, but that is a bit much. I am okay with spending $100 for 12 stems, as I don't want that many orchids, but enough as I am basing my colours off of the orchid. And the real touch flowers I have seen just don't capture the vibrant blues and purples. If any of you know of a florist who is giving quotes, let me know! I would just want to pick the flowers up while in PV and give them to the resort to add into the bouquet. That is so amazing that you are doing the bonfire and ziplining for your guests! I wish my budget would allow for us to do something like that for our guests, but as we are staying for two weeks, that eats up any extra cash we would have to do something like that for our guests. Makes me feel like a bad bride, to see all the wonderful things you all are doing for your guests! So touching! Can't wait to see how your planning is coming along! Congrats!!!!

Hi Kate! Congrats!!!!! Your wedding is soooo close! I am so excited to see activity on this thread- I was worried there weren't any Dreams brides out there and I was going to be going it alone! We are going to be doing the bonfire, so I can't help you there. Well, the intention is to do the bonfire... however, we are sitting down with my parents and FI's parents in the next two weeks to discuss the guest list, and we are already at 29 invites ourselves without the people they will probably want to add in. I am expecting roughly another 15-20 people from them, which pushes us to the even more expensive bonfire package, so we will see. With 30 guests, I think you can put together a spot in the buffet for everyone- I remember from the email from Eleane that the buffet can accommodate about 50 people- maybe put together a dinner there? I will be making my own decorations- just going to bring some fake flowers from home, some stones and immersible lights, and buy some clear vases/ big glasses while in PV for the tables. The prices top get decorations from the resort was just too much. We're just going with the sound system as well, and bringing our iPod. Save a couple hundred bucks, why not. Congrats again! Close friends of ours are getting married on May 18th of next year! Excited to follow your plans and see your beautiful pictures!

You're wedding will be as beautiful as you want it to be, because you and your FI will be there. If other people cannot appreciate the importance of this for you/ sacrifice their own plans to come to your special day, that is on them. I just want to give you the biggest hug, and want you to know you are so loved on these boards, and we are all here to support you, and to celebrate in your marriage!

It's not an automated turn over- it's manual for the systems admin to go in and change you over, so that is why there is the delay! -
Here's the love of our lives. His name is Bowzer, and he will be 7 this year. He is a mix between a tabby and Siamese. His face shows the Siamese, but it's his talking where it really shows. He answers you back EVERY time you talk to him, interrupts us with things to say, and has such a variety of things to comment on. It's awesome. He didn't speak to us for a week after we came back from Mexico for our anniversary. I can only imagine the anger and hostility we will get from him when we are gone for two whole weeks for our wedding.

Going to do Day 1 of the squat challenge today. Had planned on going to my boxing class last night, but I ended up working nearly 12 hours yesterday, and then had to go visit my poor Mom- she slipped on some ice yesterday and broke her elbow. Left home yesterday morning at 6:00 a.m. and didn't walk back in the door until 7:30. Crazy long day. So.... today will just be a cardio and squat day for me then.
