  1. I would, except I don't look that different Some of my clothes fit just a little (and when I say little, I mean only a little) bit looser. I don't know where the weight was lost, but it's not a big difference looks wise. I have a feeling it was in my boobs, which SUCKS.
  2. CONGRATS SHERYLL AND RICH!!!!! That's amazing that you both accomplished so much together!!!!!!!!!!! Well, well, well deserved And extra good job losing more than your FI! Not an easy task, since boys lose it soooo much easier than us girls.
  3. Nott sure how you all feel about this, but after watching the news all evening with everything going on in Boston, I thought I would put a suggestion out there. I know we have all worked insanely hard to lose weight (through sickness and health). I don't know what the outcome will be, but I was wondering what you ladies (and gents) thought about donating the pot towards helping those injured in today's devestation?

  5. I would love a copy of the script- haven't gotten it yet from Eleane. I'll PM you my email?

  7. I believe I have seen other people use the photo's that come with the package for their bonfire/ rehearsal dinner/ ttd or other events on the resort. Mind as well make use of the photo's from the packages! I'm not sure what time the sun sets in May, but in September it started to set around 7:30-7:45, with the brightest colours in the sky at around 8:15ish. I know it makes the day so much shorter having the ceremony later in the day, but to hold the wedding in the blistering sun at 4:00 just seems like too much (especially for us brides getting married during the rainy season- the humidity alone is incredible).
  8. No problem at all! I'm just glad I have the experience from being on the site to be able to give to people It is truly breathtakingly beautiful at Dreams. The ballrooms are your typical ballrooms, but we saw a wedding take place within the ballroom and it's definitely big enough to hold a lot of people. I love that you are adding to the script- makes it so much more unique to your special day
  9. Congrats Kate! That's amazing!! Keep up the good work So looking back over the past 9 weeks, I am not nearly as happy with my results as I would like to be. Down about 13.5 pounds, which is good, but not nearly good enough! So this week I am going to kick ass, work hard and hope to make that at least 15! Definitely not enough to win, but I am sooo proud of all of us, for the effort we have put in! Keep it up ladies! One more week to go!!!!!!
  10. CONGRATS!!!!!!!! It looks breathtaking! Excited to see all your photos when you get back!
  11. Yeah, from their pictures alone I fell in love with them. Pierre was really fast at responding, and provided us with many different varieties of pictures- from an album already done to a whole log in of a previous wedding. Glad you enjoyed them (love your picture too!), and I am looking forward to seeing your pictures!
  12. I had read about this on the Dreams website! It will definitely make the stay that much easier! My only concern is that the wifi is sparatic, so be cautious about using it. The Preferred tower is better, but the old tower' wifi is touch and go. But this is an amazing app! I will be glad it will be in use by the time we get there
  13. I was hoping this thread would become a little bit more popular. I found the other thread outdated (not it's fault), but figured it would be nice for us all to have a space to discuss the recent packages/ experiences. To be completely honest, it is REALLY hot and humid. As the evening comes along, it starts to cool down and the temperature at night is perfect. Warm enough to not need a sweater, but not so hot that your uncomfortable being outside. I don't know if the weather gets any better as the rainy season comes to an end, but mid- September it was really hot. BEAUTIFUL and perfect, but really hot. If it has started to cloud over a bit at 5PM, it will be perfect. I would suggest giving your guests fans or something to cool themselves for the ceremony otherwise, because in the direct sunlight, it is very hot. I wish I could be telling you it will be absolutely perfect, but from our experience, it was very hot. It rained our second evening there, around 6:30- 7:00 for about an hour. Otherwise, it rained overnight/ into the early morning. As long as you get up after 8:30, you will be fine, and the rain won't bother you. Otherwise, if it does rain in the afternoon, it's sporadic, and extremely brief (maybe 10-15 minutes). We are planning to have our reception at Las Palmas as well. To be completely honest, even though it's not perfect, even if it does rain, Dreams seems to have a back up plan of putting you in one of the ballrooms, and they are gorgeous. It won't be ideal, but it won't be the end of the world either. However, from our experience, I highly doubt that will happen. It rains out over the water, as the mountains seem to push the clouds out and away from the resort. I would suggest telling your guests to wear a very high SPF for the first couple of days- I burnt after the first day, wearing spf 40, and it made sleeping miserable. By the third day I was better, but I continued to have a red hue for the rest of the vacation. Wear a high SPF for the first few days, get a base tan/ your skin used to the temperature and then you should be fine. Drink lots of water too- especially at night. It helps offset all the drinking throughout the day. Their hangover drink (clamato juice and corona) really does help. I was feeling really bad the day after our engagement (I essentially drank two bottles of sparkling wine all by myself), and after two of those drinks, I was feeling much better. Oh, as nice as it sounds, don't sleep with the door open at night. We did our first night and we had so many bugs in our room the next morning. Enjoy the air conditioning and sleep well with the door closed. You can still hear the water crashing on the beach, so don't worry about that. It's just a little bit muffled is all.
  14. I haven't seen the script yet, but it definitely sounds like we will have some changing to do. I have found some threads along here, with some passages I would like to incorporate into our script. So I am sure I will be editing the script like crazy! Question for all your brides: Are you using the ceremony vows or doing your own? I am thinking of doing a mix of both. Saying our own vows, but also having the traditional "I Do" type of vow afterwards.
  15. After posting this and looking at our budget, I figure regardless of whether we can use fake petals or not, it's a small area I can save money. And it won't ruin the day if we don't have rose petals, so it's just not something I am even going to worry myself over anymore. I have been very impressed with Eleane's responses as well. Not always happy with what she says, but the speed of her responses I won't ever say is off point. Max I wait is a day for a response, but I would say it's usually a 12 hours email turnaround, if not within an hour. I would expect your day will go beautifully. After our stay there, we were so impressed with the service from the staff. They went above and beyond to make our anniversary week special, and to make our proposal evening spectacular.
  16. We will be doing the bonfire as well. Even though we are setting a limit of 40 people max at our wedding, it just is going to be too much to organize everyone into one restaurant. I absolutely can give you the information for Photoshoots Vallarta. They are really amazing, and I am excited to use them. Their pictures are gorgeous, and the full day package price isn't that bad. I wish I was as brave as you, about bringing your own sound system. I will be booking the sound system, but not having a DJ. I would suggest having a dance floor, if your having your reception on the beach. Word of advice, when we were there, when we spent the evening on the beach for our dinner, we got munched galore by sand fleas. Poor FI's legs were a mess for weeks when we came back, because they were eaten alive. I would suggest getting a dance floor, for that reason alone. And tell your guests to wear loose fitting pants/ dresses. FI wore jeans, with socks and runners and yeah, it was pretty bad. Originally Posted by amysis Hey Ladies! I'm so excited for you! When do you leave the resort? Would you be willing to give me a rundown after your big day? And we are doing the Bonfire as our "rehearsal dinner". I completely agree that it's pricey, but I didn't want to risk getting everyone together at a restaurant, and past brides at Dreams all say the bonfire is awesome. @SLetendre I'll also give you an update on the weather this May @Jenny2014 would you be willing to PM me the Photoshoots Vallarta info? We are getting our details together and have pretty much everything under control other than the final guest count (common...people know by now if they're able to make the trip or not, but I still can't get commitments or declines from some people!) and a few details with the resort. Thought I'd let you ladies know (since I really struggled with this) that we are going to bring our own sound system (a portable Bose) and use a microphone app for both the ceremony and reception, which I am praying will be loud enough, but sounds great in my open back yard (and I live near an interstate, and we can still hear the system very well with the interstate background noise). Have you ladies given any thought into a dance floor? I hate to spend so much money on one (we will be having our reception on the beach), but I'm not sure people will be too excited to dance on the sand.
  17. I had to pay for two dresses myself as a bridesmaid. The last one was easy, as the bride simply sent us all a picture and what store to find it at. The dresses were on sale, and being discontinued, so they were $25 with tax I believe. My first dress though, that was waaaayyyyy more (close to $350 for a dress I HATED, in a colour I despise and will absolutely never ever wear again). As MOH (to my current FI's brother's fiancee, during that time he was boyfriend), I went with the bride to look at some dresses and get an idea- I was a student and had NO money at that time, as I wasn't prepared to buy anything that day. She decided that day we had to order them, which put me in a really tight spot. As I was panicking internally over the cost of the dress, how I was going to be able to afford it, FI's parents told me they would pay for it (amazing, incredible, blessed people that they are). They didn't end up doing it, in the end, as I called FI and he said we would make due with the small amount left in our account after paying for the dress. But the bride didn't care at all- all her other bridesmaids were her younger cousins, so their mothers were paying for it, and she didn't care one small ounce what her spur of the moment decision did to me (or care afterwards either). (They are divorced now, BTW, and she is an evil, crazy, psycho woman I am SOOO glad is out of our family). I will be asking my bridesmaids to pay for their own dresses, but they have a year and a half to find a dress that fits in with my colours, at any price they want to spend (I am asking them to be realistic and ensure they will wear the dress again and to keep it affordable to their own personal budget). If they cannot find anything within the colours of the wedding, I am more than willing to adjust to something they currently own/ want to wear. So far they are fine with it and understand that they are paying for the dresses themselves. I will pay for them to get their hair done at the very least, make up maybe after I get quotes from the resort's spa.
  18. Bought a Sottero Midgley JSM 1220 (I think it was from a couple of years ago). Mine doesn't have the staps, so I will be wearing it as a sweetheart neckline
  19. Favourite Moment: Lounging on the couch watching TV, and holding hands/ playing with each others fingers. It's simple and nothing special, but it is in these moments when I feel like our lives are most complete. We are happy, safe, and with each other. For now, that is completely enough. Biggest Pet Peeve: Everything ends up on the floor, to be picked up by me (or him, whenever he decides to get to it). Clothes, shoes, dry cleaning tags/bags, hangers, etc. Ugh!
  20. So I was randomly thinking last night what a fun idea it would be to share in the happy and most annoying moments being with our significant others. It's always easy to think of the things that annoy you, but write about the moments that make you sit back and appreciate the lives you have together. So here is my challenge: Write one moment between yourself and your significant other that you have when you feel the most content, happy, grateful for your lives together. Second, write your biggest pet peeve that he/she does/says/ etc.
  21. hahahahaha no worries! I am the same- for me, it's not going home that counts for me. Going out to a gym just isn't cutting it for me, even though it is on my way home. But more often then not, I would find myself turning to go home instead of heading straight to the gym. So now, I can go home, that's fine.... I just can't go upstairs. I get out of my car and I walk. I love our neighbourhood- I love looking at the houses, and just walking around. Walking has always been my one joy, and I don't do it because this body of mine is far too lazy and just keeps getting that way. I also know my best friend is coming home in 3 months, and I promised her at least two days of wedding dress shopping (even though I already have my dress, she want's me to go try on a bunch, just to have that experience, as I bought mine at a sample sale with my Mom, it was crowded and I didn't enjoy it). SO i need to get rid of this excess grossness I have on me- because it's really getting bad, and I am so sick of hating me, in clothes, out of clothes. My health is also starting to be affected- I am hurting myself more because I am getting clumsy, I am bumping into things because I'm wider than I should be, etc. So no, no more of this uck me. I am beautiful, I am kind and special and I deserve to see myself that way. (Ha, even though I don't believe it)
  22. You'll do it! I believe in you- you have worked so hard to get here, don't let a measly 3.5 lbs get the best of you! It's water weight, or as someone once told me, maybe you just need a BM and you'll be golden! Cleanse will definitely help- Easter sucked the life out of most of us- as much as we all tried so hard, everyone over indulges, even when we think we aren't. On the two days where we were having big meals, we didn't eat anything else that day. Doesn't matter- the meal themselves were probably 5000 calories, geez.
  23. *shudders out her breath* Wow. That was so beautiful, and what an absolutely inspiring couple you are. That sure manages to put my entire life back into check and make me appreciate everything we have, for there are some truly amazing people in this world, who make it look easy. This wedding is so deserved, and will be such an incredible experience for your entire family. I wish you and your family all the best, and may your black and white day be forever beautiful! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!! xoxo
