I'm renting hanging lanterns from our resort but I was also thinking of releasing chinese lanterns for good luck.. if I do those, I will most likely bring them with me.

I am also doing the maracas + kissing! I think that too should be enough, right? I was actually going to use them as place cards. On the other side of "shake it for a kiss", I am going to right name and table number.

I'm with you, Shannon.. I will only start OOT bags and decide on center pieces once we know guest count.. I'm not sure how many of each to order or how many tables we will need and I don't want to buy extras of anything!

I think children under 2 are free because when I got my group rates, they grouped children 2-12 and 13-17. No clear indication of how much for them to attend the reception.. sorry.. if anyone knows that, please share!

I know the feeling! I also feel that 60 is large for a destination wedding.. Now that my list is at 201 guests, I hope the statistics are not accurate.. lol

We have to present our final list on April 14 but I have inquired about that and have been told they are flexible and will add more guests as long as rooms are available. We started our guest list with 125 guests.. this would have been our max for a traditional wedding.. couldn't afford more than that.. now that we are having a destination wedding, we are at 188! I'm nervous because I wanted something small and simple. They say usually one third of guests invited normally attend so can you imagine if I have to make 60 OOT bags? I'll be in trouble! hahah I would love if our guests started to book.. right now it's only the two of us! A bit nerve-wrecking but I know of at least 30 people who will be there (including family, of course).

Hmmm where's your wedding? Be very careful before taking all that medicine on your suitcase! I haven't done proper research on it yet but they could consider it "smuggling drugs"... last thing you need on your wedding weekend. I would love to hear from other people how they got medicine over the border. Or maybe they bot it there?

Do you know what you will include in your OOT bags? I think I will start mine when I have a better head count. Also, I have no idea how I will get all this stuff to Mexico without paying duties!

Hi Shannon, We were going to just send out our invitations but we didn't want people to sit on them for 8 months. Also, I used groupons for both STD and invitations so they were pretty cheap. I got a $300 groupon to spend $800 at delphinepress.com. But back to the plan, I am thinking of sending the invitations in March/April. What do you think? Also, I'm not sure if I should include an RSVP or info card.. I guess I will decided based on how many people uses our website to RSVP by then. Invitations for destination weddings are tough.. there's not much formality to them or set etiquette to follow. I feel that everyone just seems to do whatever works for them. My best friend is getting married in May and she also just sent out her STDs as well. I'm not sure if she will send out invitations.

Hello Everyone! I think I'm a little behind but I'm haven't freaked out yet. - Venue is booked (flowers, menus, add-ons, cake I will decide later). Getting married at El Cid in Mexico. - I have a photographer I'm interested in. He's reserved our date already but hasn't put any pressure on a deposit. - No dress yet.. I have two that I love and I have until next Monday to place the order - STDs went out last week. No one has booked but I have seen some interest. - OOT bags.. I think I should wait to know how many guests before I spend a ton of money.. am I wrong? - What about invitations?? I'm confused.. wedding in June so when should invitations go out?? Do we include RSVP or info card? We have a website too but only 10% of our guests have visited so far. What am I forgetting?? lol

Hi everyone, I have emailed Deyanira today because I needed to clarify this. Here's our exchange: 1) Once we have met our 30 combined nights at the Platinum rooms, will our guests booked under non-platinum rooms (if any) be able to attend our wedding reception free of charge as well? I would think so since the contract states a free reception but I just want to be sure. Once you had completed the 30 room nights in Platinum rooms. The rest of your guest or family will be available to reserve any category of room.
