On a resolution note- did you answer with "what are you going to do o compensate me?" If not you absolutely should! Put your foot down, be bold, and demand that they do something majorly freakin awesome to compensate you for their error!

Good luck and worse case scenario... You'll be in Mexico, so if your room is a little "..eh" at least you will have a beach! :)

I'm working with Dennis and he has been fantastic.  He happened to be in Mexico when we visited for the first time and he drove us around and showed us a bunch of resorts with his wife, Pam.  He has been very attentive to our guests and I don't know that this is his fault or the resorts.  We spoke yesterday and I just told him to make it right.  The resort needs to make someone else upset, not the guest who's bring another 40-something guests and a ton of business.

I know we will be in Mexico but this is the one thing I requested so we could have friends and family over.  I will have at least 8 people with me while I am getting ready and it will not fit in the room.  Who is your TA?

  3. My Travel agent called me on Friday to let me know that our resort is almost sold out and they never reserved my room upgrade.  I am entitled to 2 upgrades which would have given us a 1-bedroom.  They are all gone.  I am so pissed off.. my choices are:  a small suite or a honeymoon suite.  You might think a honeymoon suite is awesome but it has a jacuzzi.  I honestly don't want my father (or anyone) visiting us in the room and looking at the used jacuzzi.  It's embarrassing.  Months ago I asked them to confirm the 1-bedroom and I can't believe they dropped the ball.  I also don't want a jacuzzi in my wedding pictures.  I'm livid that they dropped the ball like that.  My guests have better accommodations when we do!!  FML

Such a thoughtful, hard-working bride :) There will be tables and chairs set up on the beach, but maybe I'll see what they can add as far as splashes of color go. That or I'll just feed everyone a ton of booze so they forget about the details.. KIdding!!! No... no I'm not kidding.

Speaking of decorations, I got two huge hard-shell suitcases from TJMaxx and fit ALL of my centerpieces and OOT bags in one and have another one ready to go for the other stuff. They are, by far, the most hideous suit-cases I have ever laid eyes on. One is covered in PeaCock pattern and the other is a bright purple...probably geared toward a pubescent teenage girl. But hey...they work. So WOO-HOO!!!

    OMG...I"m so freaking excited. :) :) :)

Laughing so hard at your description of these suitcases.. lol

I feel like I want there to be a few simple decor items..... Ideas?!? I'm thinking maybe just flower petals, candles of some kind, and maybe pictures of my FI and I through the years or something..? Hmmmm... Anyone else bringing small decorations for these events or similar events?

Our wedding is on Saturday.  We have a tequila tasting on Thursday, a cocktail party at the beach after the rehearsal on Friday (asking guests to meet us after their have dinner) and brunch on Sunday.  I didn't even think of decorations for these events.  I think I will leave it as that to keep it simple...   I might bring some personalized shot glasses for the tequila tasting but that's it.

  9. Thank you, Ladies.. you are all right!

I will continue to use my "sweating for the wedding" to release all the stress.  I won't worry about the guests who are up in the air.  Yesterday I had a great evening with my mom and she told me:  "When you worry about all the things that might go wrong just remember that no one will know or care because they will be in Mexico having a blast!" - Mom knows best!

I actually took the time to go back to page 1 of this thread.. we all came a long way!  wow... so excited for all of us!

  10. Thank you guys.. of course I want them to come but I just have to get started with other projects.  I can't dwell on OOTs forever!

We don't have songs picked out yet, we don't have center pieces, flowers, etc.. I am so overwhelmed and this is the last thing I need.  Ah!  even the ring bearer is thinking about it!  lol

Also, guests can't book from our website anymore because our group rooms are sold out.  Each time they ask for a quote, I need to chase after rates for them.  Not cool... this is driving me crazy.. literally.. I have a cold sore, my face tingles (yes!  I had an MRI done! All good though).. really, people?  Work with the bride for a change!  lol

  11. Hey ladies.. I need some serious venting...

We have 46 guests booked.  My RSVP data was April 1 and so many people have not rsvp'd.  The worst part is that I waited until the RSVP to start my OOT bags because I didn't want to buy anything in excess.  I have now ordered the bags and started to purchase the items.  Suddenly we heard from people who are still "thinking about it" - I mean, almost 20 possible guests! I have two girlfriends who are teachers.  I understand their schedule will not be released until end of April but everyone else has no excuse.. I just think they don't realize what it takes to plan this.  If I run out of bags, is that ok to explain to them they were ordered a week after the RSVP date and we just didn't know they had plans to join us?  Or do I have to go out of my way to make them OOT bags?

    Anyone going through that??

    1. Fi is all set with his clothes (he ordered and received his khaki slacks and shirt)
    2. I have ordered my dress and should have it around April 20
    3. I ordered dresses for our best peeps (3 are female, now need to sort out what the best guy peep is wearing)
    4. I ordered my maracas
    5. I finally touched base with the resort regarding the small details
    6. I the cake topper and cake table decorations (we are huge travel junkies along with a lot of our guests, so we found play airplane sets that we are going to decorate the cake table with and friends of ours found mini Lufthansa planes for the topper.  I figure since he proposed on a Lufthansa flight, that would be perfect)
    7. Found a small suitcase we are using for the card box
    8. Ordered cake boxes
    9. Started on the wording for the ceremony programs, menu cards, welcome letters, etc (need to finalize so I can use my VP coupon)
    10. Ordered the travel tumblers for the OOT bags, created the template I am using and have printed them.
    11. Found the actual OOT bags - we were going to order totes but found perfect pink and orange gift bags instead (love the dollar store)
    12. Started buying the contents for the survival kits

I still have lots more to do on my list, but it is a good start.  cheesy.gif

    Hi CatGirl!

Wow, that's a lot of progress!  My turn to freak out.. lol

Quick question... What are you including in the survival kit?  Also, if you are including any meds, are you bringing them with you?  I'm a little worried because I read the authorities are very strict about that..

I ordered my bags on Friday but before I emailed them to ask if any coupons would be available.  They said no.  Then on Monday I saw the email and I was so upset!  I emailed them last night to ask if they would honor the coupon against our order.  Let's see what happens.. that would save me $80!

  14. I love it!  Thank you so much for suggesting the site.  They have a few bags on sale for $100 (sets of 20) and a couple of designs could work for us!

THese are the ones I ordered, but they even have Mexico themed/Spanish ones as well. If you sign up for their emails, you might get a coupon to use towards the purchase too.

Also i was having trouble finding the soduku books as well. I know our dollertree had crossword puzzles...but that didnt seem as fun! Let me know if you find a place.

  15. Hi Ladies!

Today I have finally started with our OOT bags!  FI is being so helpful!  Here's mint and lip balm I have ordered.  I used the same designed so they will match (will have to buy the mint separately):

    http://www.pricewisefavors.com/wedding-favors-by-theme/beach-wedding-favors/personalized-lip-balm-p-864.html

We have 44 guests so I have ordered 55 of each to be safe.  I'm looking for ideas for the personalized tote bags.  I really like canvas and I will need about 36 (1 per couple and 1 per single traveler).  Please let me know what you have used for that.

    For Mexican Brides:

    - we wanted to include a small bottle of tequila in the OOT.  What would you do:  1) buy it in mexico 2) buy empty bottles in the US, use personalized labels and fill them with tequila in Mexico?

    - are you bringing tylenol, tums, alka-seltzer, etc for the OOT with you or are you buying it in Mexico.  I don't want to "smuggle" drugs into the country and be fined!  Any advice on this?

    Cute idea for mexican brides:

-I'm waiting to hear from my WC, but I would like to order Mexican Wedding Cookies and add them to the OOT with a cute wrap.

    For all brides:

    - Is anyone including Sudoku or any games in the bags?  I can't find them online to buy in bulk.  Any suggestions?

Other items I am considering:  Maps, hand-sanitizer, shot glasses, door hangers, Spanish 101, etc.

    Thanks everyone!!

I LOVE those badgley heels. I was looking at them before too and haven't found wedges that I like more. Im with MK though, even though im 5'9, I feel 10x sexier in a heel...even just a 2 inch heel makes a difference for me. But some people feel just as sexy in a flat. If you're one of those people then id def go for the flat. Its whatever makes you feel prettier.

I just got shoes in the mail and they are def going back. I put them on and got flashbacks to Easter sunday when I was little...I think its because thwy are white. Haha...maybe I'll be sticking with metallic

    Yay!

I really like the Gisele but I am afraid of being taller than FI.  I'm 5'8 and he's 6'2... decisions decisions!!  I also found this one and I might have it adorned with left over lace from my veil and some extra bling.. they are really sad on their own!

Are any of you girls wearing shoes for the ceremony?I know this is a stupid question because we are getting married on the beach and toes in the sand sound SO much more comfortable. However im worried my dress will be too long to go barefoot. I think we are getti ng the runner so that will make it easier to do shoes, but just wondering what you ladies are doing.

    Thank you!

    And I'm a June 15th bride too!!

I have been having a hard time with shoes until today!  I need wedges in the ivory color.  I had passed on this Badgley Mischka shoes I loved but after a closer look I realized they are dyeables!  Also, I found them cheaper at 6pm.com.  I'm divided between the high heel and the flat.. any suggestions?  One is really hot and the other is really comfortable!  LOL...
