We were working with Elsa, which needless to say wasn't the best thing in the world. We're getting married on North Beach and our entrees are Chicken and Fish. These boards are a life saver! Lol! Now I just need to stop looking at the weather channel and freaking myself out! Lol

Hi Girls... I've been trying to get info on their videographer and photographer but I can't for the life of me get an example of the videos they do I'm getting married here in 11 days and leave in 8! GULP!! I'm nowhere near finished with all my projects and don't even have a bathing suit yet! I'm more nervous about not getting everything finished on time than I am about the wedding! lol! I'm going to try again tomorrow to get some info on the videographer and see if we I can get somewhere! Fingers crossed! ~Stina

Thank you. There's no video example thought...they seem to have another site as well with a marketing video which wasn't thrilling. The fact they never responded to my information request months ago really annoys me and makes me nervous though! Lol

Most places offer you one for free or with a fee depending on the package you choose. Ours comes with a Christian preacher or a justice of the peace-type person so nobody will be any the wiser that its not technically "legal". Welcome to the boards!

So you have it?? Is there a link to it online anywhere? It's not part of our package but its so expensive for the smallest video (we'd just want the ceremony taped) that I'm dying to see an example before forking over a ton of money for it.

You look stunning and happy!! Yeah!! And I'll second your shout out to Wendy Hicks!! She is the ONLY reason I still have a shred in this planning process! When I couldn't get through to my resort she's been with me every step of the way!! When I was about to pull our entire wedding two weeks ago (a month before the wedding) and move it elsewhere she jumped into action and made some calls (which I didn't ask her to do) and the resort called me in about 2 minutes! Talk about going above and beyond!! I want to squeeze that woman and thank you every time she helps me!!

Did your husband happened to see any of their video footage? Lol! Or did they not take one...I still can't find an example anywhere! Very frustrating!

Agreed!!! Like I said I finally got him to sit and figure out music with me but after a few hours he had "cabin fever" and had to go to the gym...so technically he listened to music while I scribbled notes then he left = the project still isn't finished and that's the 1st thing I've asked him to do!! Lololol! "But don't worry baby, we'll get everything done" were his words as he went to the gym! Oy vey!! These boys!! Lol

Ohhhhh don't get me started on this! As our numbers went up I clearly had "American ATM" stamped on my forehead!! And those fees started changing willy-nilly all the time. Several were: Cost for local guests, cake and champagne toast costs changed, cocktail hour" was apparently "champagne hour" (why would they think we want this when we're having a champagne toast begore??) when our numbers went up and it was time for final decisions so another $5/person was added on top of the $10/person for open bar which isn't even premium (AND WHY AM I PAYING FOR THIS WHEN IT'S AN ALL INCLUSIVE ANYWAYS????), and the straw that broke this camel's back and caused me to tell them I was going to pull my entire 60 person wedding and go elsewhere was the final payment being due and THEN they tacked on a "privacy fee" per person of about $25-30/person when all along the prices quoted me were for a private function. After bringing that many people to their resort for a week stay to then be treated like that was a slap in the face!! As soon as I told them I was finished with their price gauging and was going to move locations they were on the phone calling me to fix things in 2 minutes!!! It was still a HUGE fight but when I showed them 8 months of emails they were nice enough to bring those fees down to a more reasonable obscene amount! Lol! After that headache I wasn't going to give them another penny for things like decorations ($5-10 to RENT a chair sash???? HAHAHAHA) so we'll be taking all our decorations with us!! Bought over 70 table linens and chair sashes for about $40 and some fabulous lanterns so hopefully it'll all work out! Another ridiculous fee that I refuse to pay is $7 per bag to deliver the OOT bags! Oy vey!! Stick to your guns girls and keep EVERY email!! Talk to past brides to learn and gauge how far you're being taken advantage of and then don't back down! And lastly...ASK FOR ITEMIZED INVOICES BEFORE PAYING A CENT!! I went to pay a deposit and there was an extra $1,000+ on there and when I called them on it demanding an itemized list the charge mysteriously disappeared and they never even acknowledged it!! Wonder who would have pocketed that mulla had I just blindly paid! Praying hard that everything goes smoothly in 2 1/2 weeks and there aren't anymore nightmares! Lol! Good luck girls!

I haven't slept in two nights...zero hours...I'm SO anxious that I'm not going to get everything done!! I can't seem to catch up with myself even though I've been working non-stop on wedding things it feels like! My FI doesn't truly seem to get how much is left to do!! I've finally pinned him down to attempt to figure out music right this second! Lol!

I That's devastating!! I hope the resort can give you a free vow renewal in the future! Won't make up for missing your special day but could lessen the sting!

Which one are you using? Do you mind me asking prices? I would only really need the basic package for video of the ceremony...that's all I really care about as our photographers can document the rest

They charge this for prime nights because its prime real estate! Lol! Sunset! Just one of the fabulous fees (and this one you won't be able to argue your way out of)...and I'm pretty sure you can have just the light up dance floor without the DJ but I don't know. It's listed on the optional sheets and doesn't say it's contingent on having a DJ...but I wonder if it would work without being hooked up to some sort of sound system...hmmmm...maybe it would work with an iPod attached or it runs on its own. I'm sure someone here will know

I've had no luck

We didn't want to make our legal signing anything special in our minds since we want our destination to be THE wedding etc. We even talked about doing the whole courthouse legal stuff AFTER our ceremony in Mexico. We decided to do it on my FI's bday so we'd forever remember it as his birthday, not our anniversary and only celebrate it on June 15th (the day in Mexico with all our guests)...long story short its his birthday on Monday which happens to fall on Memorial Day this year. My parents kept hinting they didn't want any anniversary present for their Amniversary on May 1st so we decided to do all the legal signing that day. My parents, my FI and I snuck down to the courthouse and said the basics of what needed to be say and even though we didn't want to kiss it just sort of went with it! Lol! We didn't exchange rings though and nobody knows!! Now we'll share our secret anniversary with my parents and its a great secret that made it very special without making me feel any different or taking away from the main even in 3 weeks! If anything it has made us much more relaxed! We'll be doing the symbolic ceremony in Mexico and exchanging vows and rings and nobody there will have any idea that its not the "real" thing, because for us it will be. I am a tad bit nervous about June 15th though because with only my parents, FI and the judge at the courthouse I broke into the giggles as soon as he started the vows...I guess it was nerves and it all seemed really surreal to me! I'm praying hard I'm not a giggling or sobbing mess in Mexico!! Lolol! We shall see!!

Hi there! I thought of another phrase that's important that I don't know how to say and was wondering if perhaps you could help me again? Lol! We're carrying a Polaroid camera and film down with us and the film can't go through the X-ray machine and needs to be hand checked. I know on the way out of the airport in Cancun all our luggage including purses has to be Xrayed so could you tell me how to say the film can't go through the X-ray machine or it will be damaged and could we please have it hand checked? Thank you so much!
