  1. Oh jeez, I didn't even consider that! Thanks ladies, it sounds like the train song would fit in perfectly here. I could even do the lyrical one Love my BDW helpers!
  2. I didn't think about the signing...when does this happen in the ceremony? How long does that take?
  3. That would be a fantastic idea, but my FI really wants to walk out to "All I Want is You" from the Juno soundtrack. Oh well, if it comes down to it i'll flip a coin, or go with which he likes best.
  4. Okay ladies, I have a music question. Well, more than one. We were told that our guests needed to be seated by 3:15 for our 3:30pm ceremony. As such, we planned about 17 minutes of music for our playlist, and then the last song is the one my FI and his BM will walk down to. My question is, how early did your guests start arriving? Meaning, do you think I need to have more than this 17ish minutes of music? I couldn't imagine people arriving much sooner than that. My other, and I know this is probably more of a personal preference, but I am torn between what to walk down the aisle to. Originally I was going to do the Vitamin String Quartet version of Bruno Mars (thanks, Allie!) which can be found here: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_i_0?rh=k%3Avitamin+string+quartet+bruno%2Ci%3Adigital-music&keywords=vitamin+string+quartet+bruno&ie=UTF8&qid=1364216396&ajr=0 But then I really love the song Marry Me by Train, and found a nice acoustic one that I fell in love with (like #2) http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_17?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-music&field-keywords=marry+me+train+instrumental&sprefix=marry+me+train+in%2Cdigital-music%2C444 I can't decide! The two are totally different. The first is a bit more happy/upbeat, and I really love it and could see myself walking down the aisle smiling. The second is a bit more somber, but so beautiful and I love the lyrics of that song. I could see myself getting teary eyed walking down the aisle to that. At this point I just want someone to decide for me haha. My FI likes the Bruno Mars a bit more. Figured I'd poll you ladies and see what you think!
  5. Some people have done a hand ceremony? It sounds sweet, you can search BDW and find some forums.
  6. Maybe a stupid question, but what did you do on the weekends? Food Plan.doc
  7. I would figure out what color looks best with your skin, and go with that. I'm very fair-skinned, so a light ivory looked better on me. They can make so many shades of ivory, I'm sure you could find a light one.
  8. This is the picture my WC sent us when we asked for reception spaces! You guys are famous!
  9. Are there games specific to a Jack and Jill? If not, we did the "Left Right" game and my shower and it was really fun. The shoe game is also a good one.
  10. I was so excited, we just got back from Dollar Tree and they had the tumblers with straws! I think I've seen a few people have those for their OOT bags - Allie maybe? Anyways, it was very exciting. Have people said they bought waterproof labels to put on them? Also, anyone have good recommendations of where to buy iron-on patches for bags? We were just going to do like "Mexico 2013" or something like that.
  11. Oh girl, story of my life haha. I wanted lace, and get jealous everytime I see it on someone. Just gotta remind myself it didn't look good on me!
  12. As always, thank you for all everyone's kind words. In my head, logically, I know it all will work out. But sometimes I forget that and have panic moments! I think the fact that it's LESS than two months propelled me into freak out mode haha
  13. Ok ladies, I'm getting a little nervous and have been having some nightmares about the actual ceremony. I'm starting to freak out about how everything is gonna play out and work logistically, and I'm afraid it's gonna be a sloppy and look unorganized. I did make a very detailed ceremony script (shout out to Alli!) so it does have like "stage notes" telling the officiant what to do. Ladies who've been married, how did this all go for you. Did they speak English well? Easy to understand? Any tips you would give? Did the person running the music help make it go smoothly? I'm just trying to think of walking down the aisle, exiting, meeting up with my Dad, etc. Since we're having such a small group (19) I just don't want it to come off like it was thrown together at the last minute. I'm sure once we're down there and meet with the WC I'll feel better, but that's not for two months haha. Do you recommend trying to do a rehersal? I know the officiant isn't always available, but if he isn't is it still worth it? How long is the actual walk down the asile? I'm trying to think of how soon Sam will see me before I actually get to him. Since the 2 month mark hit I've just been so nervous! Also, random, but did any of you use/get a videographer through EDR? I didn't think I wanted one, but now think I might? Not sure how much they are or if it's in the budget. Ahhh Sorry for the long post!
  14. I just ordered one for my Dad! https://www.etsy.com/transaction/121914193
  15. I like the white with purple - I think it's easier to read.
  16. I'm OCD, and sitting down and making lists always seems to calm my nerves. Being able to see it all on paper helps ease my brain a bit. Once the 11th hit it was a "holy crap it's in two months" type of thing. I just had my shower Saturday, and my first alterations appointment on the 11th, so that was a reality check. We kept putting things off thinking there was time, but I told my FI we are buckling down on that list this weekend. I'd rather scramble now and be able to relax later than vice versa. Plus once we start having to get a packing list together, that'll be a whole other animal! Cherany, I feel you the dogs. We have 2 Cairn's and the longest we've lest them was to go to Toronto in October (when we got engaged). We were only gone 5 days and my dad stayed with them. This time it'll be 10 days and a family friend. Scary!
  17. Mine didn't mention it, she just said they'd be sure to set it up near an outlet since ours requires plugging in. I think it's swept up in all the other set-up fee.
  18. I would definitely still check, because you don't want bring them down and not be able to use them.
  19. I don't think that's right. I was able to choose a stuffed pasta as mine when I chose which two meal options we were offering.
  20. Thanks! I like that. "you can't change the situation only how you react to it." May need to be my new mantra!
  21. Very true. As my Mom just told me, "If they don't want to be there, they're not wanted." Just hard to remind yourself at times. I just need to get better at learning to accept it, seeing as his family has always been dysfunctional, and now they'll be in my life forever!
