Hey! I wanted to ask you on the FB page but what made you change your mind and have a private dinner? I am SO undecided about this. We are having our reception at the Parrot Bar but I am currently booked at the Steakhouse. I originally wanted the Sea and See but it was booked back in October lol. I can't help but think we'd have more time if we had our dinner at the Parrots Bar as well. Instead of getting there after dinner at 830-9pm, we will have already been there for two hours. I've gotten so many great ideas on there. So far this is what I have: - Beach bags from Dollarama - Tylenol - Dollarama - Fun sunglasses - DH Gate - Waterproof silicone watches - DH Gate - Lens cleaning wipes, - Tide sink packets -cheetos - gum - bubba keg mugs - spf chapstick - room key/tip holders - kleenex - first aid kit - Dollarama - Bath puff - hand sani/ holder - Bath and Body works - Hmm that's it for now. I am gonna throw in some tums, pepto, gravol, Emergn-C maybe some bubble bath because there's jacuzzis in each room, beach ball, aloe and maybe some more snacks lol. They are coming along though! Welcome Misskay! You should check out the Majestic Elegance brides facebook group for info on hair/makeup. They do a great job on the hair and there is a ton of pics posted there that you can check out. I am definitely getting my hair done at the resort. Not so sure about the makeup though. Many brides have commented that the salon applies the makeup quite heavily. But again, I have seen some pictures of brides that have had their makeup done and it's gorgeous. So it depends on what you're looking for. Have you confirmed a date yet? The BDW site along with the FB group has really helped me with all my planning. If you have any questions, ask away!

You couldn't have said it better! I had a lot of bad experiences as well. Sometimes I felt like I was inconveniencing them! Funny you mention the gift thing because I was actually laying in bed last night thinking about what I should send my TA as a thank you afterwards. I was thinking a giftcard or something? I don't really know what's appropriate and I searched on the forums for some ideas but couldn't really find any.

Hey Holly! Those were the only two places I ended up going because I found my dress at Nouvelle. I really loved it there. Pure Bridal.... Not so much lol. Did you already find your dress?

See that's what I am worried about so I waited long enough to order them lol. I emailed the seller asking if they have those little pull tabs but picking up extra batteries for ones that run out is a great idea.

This entire process has been a breeze. I didn't settle on an agent for 3 weeks and it was really frustrating. The different quotes I was receiving was astonishing. She did the same with my finicky guests and has a lot of experience with wedding bookings. I'm in Edmonton and my guests are all over and she has been so organized. I'm sure everyone will probably recommend their TAs now and flip you info and you should definitely look into them all. You will know instantly who you want working with your group. Oh no! That is super stressful. Has anyone put their deposits down yet? Have you and FI put yours down? Thats awful that she has Cancer and i dont mean to sound rude, but she'll probably have a lot on her plate. I can't even imagine that but if she's telling you that she can handle it, then maybe she means it. But regardless of her health situation or that you used to work together, you need to do what is best for you and your guests. I went through a lot of travel agents before I settled on one who is actually in Mississauga Ontario. Knowing how our families are, I wanted someone who was getting the best deal for us but also has great customer service. My guests LOVE her. I hope you end up with the same experience!

Ah so cool that there's an Insanity Thread!!! I am going on Week 4 right now. I LOVE this workout. I am also doing a 30 Day hot yoga challenge but I think a lot of my results are coming from Insanity. I am excited to finish this month off and then go onto month 2. I have never been so motivated in a workout program. Just gotta start eating properly! Are any of you following the diet? I don't eat poorly but I'm not sure that I'm getting enough protein.

I bought my dress at NoVelle bridal and they were amazing. They even let me help pick out my dresses which I loved. I went to Pure bridal first and my experience wasn't so great. It was like get in, get out. Very rushed.

Hey Roxy, I would email Rick York directly to see what his availability is. His email is [email protected]. He is very quick to respond After I booked him (he doesn't require a deposit) I let my WC know and she said no problem. We have to pay $90 for a day pass and $350 directly to him the day of the wedding. I'm sure your resort is familiar with himbut I guess it'd be wise to look into what it'd cost to have him on the resort. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

We are signing the papers before heading to DR and we are having Pastor York perform the ceremony. His fee is $350 and I think the proceeds go to his mission in DR. I didn't want to have the wedding co-ordinator perform our ceremony. He has excellent reviews and tons of brides have recommended him. Has two types of ceremonies that he can perform: Traditional (religious) and Contemporary (less church style). He will also add any personal touches that you want in there. I'm really excited that we were able to snag him for our wedding.

Hi Sillafeliz! Any luck on finding coral ties? My BMs are wearing David's bridal Coral Reef and it's hard to find coral ties that match that shade because it's a bit more pink. I am also having a hard time deciding on the GMs attire. We also were thinking casual but now we are getting married in a gazebo so I feel like it's a bit more formal. Although nowadays, it seems more common for the guys wear suits/vests/dress shoes on the beach or in a gazebo. Anyway, the vests do look really sharp!! My FI wants to be in a suit and I've googled tons pics and it looks so nice when the GMs are in a vest and the groom in a suit. What colour are you ordering?

I am so thankful for this thread!! This is definitely where we'll be ordering. Just trying to decide what the groomsmen will wear. We were thinking that maybe my FI will wear a suit (Hawaiian Grey) and the groomsmen (3) will wear the same colour but only the pants and vests. My bridesmaids are wearing coral so I think they will also wear coral ties. I was also thinking that maybe the groomsmen should be in a darker grey (tropical grey) with just the pants and vests and my FI in the lighter grey (Hawaiian Grey), full suit so he really stands out. It's so hard to decide!
