Hello, My FI and I are treating everyone coming to our wedding to a complimentary group excursion to Xel-ha to thank them for spending their time and money (!) on joining us at the Gran Bahia Principe in Nov. 2013. Has anyone else done this? All the quotes I've received are for $107pp and the companies say this is already a discount. Anyone had luck with a better discount for large groups? Anyone have advice on the logistics of getting 50ish people on an excursion? Paying for just the entrance fee and taking taxis to Xel-ha will no doubt be a bit cheaper, but perhaps not at the price of my sanity.... Thanks!

Hi everyone, Going back through the info, it seems everyone suggests paying for the cheaper poolside bar as you will likely receive access to the full bar anyway. Has anyone paid for the cheaper bar and actually been denied the selected drinks (rum, vodka, tequila, etc)? I've been quoted $3100 vs $1550 USD (max 60 ppl) so obviously I'd like to pay less but am nervous about this. Thoughts?

Eugenia sent me an email probably 5-6weeks ago with all kinds of questions and options. I finally started to get really excited but then never heard from her again. Mine is in the first week of November, so I'm relieved to hear it's not just me that's maybe a little frustrated? I'm anxious to get a poolside reception booked, because how can I move forward with a DJ and whatnot if I have no idea what we are doing? Gah! I'm not so good at this wait-and-see stuff.

Has anyone had the private Caribbean dinner?

Hi everyone! I am getting married in November, and just got some emails from Eugenia. I was wondering if anyone had any luck getting a different restaurant for their wedding dinner than was previously offered? We are staying at and getting married in Akumal, but we had our hearts set on Gran Tortuga (not Dolce Vita or Frutos Del Mar) with a private poolside reception afterwards. Any advice? Thanks!
