  1. Congratulations! I can't wait to read your review & see more pictures. A question about symbolic ceremonies, does anyone know how many days prior you are required to arrive? I know there is a requirement for legal ceremonies but I can't find any info on symbolic & pilar hasn't replied to me in over a month. :S
  2. Can I ask you ladies how far in advance did you all start looking at travel agents and prices? I do not travel often and I'm not sure how this works. What time are January prices the lowest? Some are saying Spring but when do your guests have to pay by? Also did you include your travel agent info on your invitations or just on your websites?
  3. I know the DJ is offered at the resort but does anybody know if they allow external DJs? I would like to keep the live music for entertainment so I would need to hire my own DJ.
  4. Does anyone know if the resort allows cold fireworks in the bamboo room from The DJ? I've seen them done on beach receptions and they look beautiful.
  5. The ones you mentioned are all great. I'm going with Dean Sanderson. He has amazing photos. He charges about $2450 for 6 hours and $850 for a trash the dress. Check out his portfolio here: http://www.deansandersonweddings.com/
  6. Oh I see it now. Thanks! I completely bypassed through the vegetarian & gluten-free options. It's such a tough decision because most people do like chicken. I wish there were food reviews on here.
  7. Where do you see the chicken? Are you guys looking at Divine or Eternity? In the wedding guide I can't see any chicken option.
  8. Thanks that answers my question. I can definitely do $1 per chair bow. Now a question about your invitations. Are any of you including the menu options in your invites? I'm confused as to how to word it on the invitation. I see there are 3 divine dinner options. Should I include all 3 options for my guests? Please let me know if this is correct. For example: Menu options: _____Beef Fillet & Shrimp _____Yellow tail tuna steak _____Salmon supreme & Ratatouille
  9. Hi everyone, a question about chair bows. For anyone bringing their own, do you have to bring them already tied or can we just bring in the fabric flat? I'm afraid the bows will get wrinkled if they are already tied. Does anyone know what the resort prefers?
  10. I made my own cards but I guess we have to bring our own card holders too?
  11. Does anyone know if they provide table card numbers or the card holders?
  12. Pilar told me differently also. I was told only 2 hours included in reception & each additional hour is $350! How are some ppl getting 3 hours plus cocktail & ceremony?
  13. Pilar quoted me to do a trial run it will be $49 USD for makeup and $59 USD for hair. It seems the pricing is inconsistent. Some people are getting it for free and some are being told it's extra.
  14. Thanks ladies, all great suggestions for the chair bows. Unfortunately, I seem to be having some trouble finding my theme color: peach. I guess I will have to do a search on ebay and see what I find.
  15. I have a question about the chair bows. What kind of material did you all use and where did you buy them from? Is there a website that sells them for cheap?
  16. Does anyone know if the lights change color in the bamboo room? I have seen different colored lighting from past brides' pictures. Some pictures it appears pink, and in some blue.
  17. Thanks, that helps a lot ladies! Now I have a question about the reservation process. Pilar had emailed me asking me to scan my credit card and the back of it with my signature which they use as the ID. Did everyone else do this? I'm just a little sceptical because I have never heard of this.
  18. Can you please share what site you are getting these real touch flowers from? I'm curious to see what they look like!
  19. Mlite83: thanks for your input! I'm wondering if anyone knows if they have vases you can rent out and if so, how much? I really don't want to pack fragile items in my luggage nor do I want to leave the resort to go shopping for them there.
  20. Hi, I'm new to this thread but I've been reading all the helpful posts. My wedding won't be until early 2014 but I have already started planning the little details. I have not seen anyone do this yet but I was hoping for some opinions. First off, does anyone know how much they charge for a floral centerpiece? Second, what do you all think if I used the bridesmaids bouquets as the centerpieces like in the picture below? Would guests think that's tacky/cheap?

  22. Thanks for your response tulumbride! So I'm looking at approximately $3000 on top of the ultimate package. Plus the cost of our air fare & hotel. You think around $10000 is a good estimate?
