Hello Ladies, I hope you are all doing well. I am having major stress at this time. While finishing grad school, working full time, finishing up a part time internship and having family members who are not doing well health wise. I was told by a family member that maybe i should cancel my wedding and have something small in NY. I have been waiting for this moment my whole life and it seems like (i am getting the impression that) people are just not happy for me... or have other priorities which is understandable. For example, i sent out my "will you be my bridesmaids?" cards to all of my bridesmaids (8) and i only got a call from 2 of them. It seems like the rest dont really care or maybe i am just reading into things. I have always been someone who accomodates people. UGH now i dont even think we will be able to even afford an at home reception. I am just really upset. I notice that i cry everyday. Sorry ladies. I find that this forum is a place to vent and get support from other brides going to the same or similar situaiton. Its hard being a bride!!! Good luck ladies.

Hi Ev, I have been reading the forums regarding the Miami office. I read one about a bride who got married at PPC and worked with the romance office in Miami. She went thriugh some stuff and her guests did as well. But she shared that everything worked out in the end. My concern is that people will not enjoy themselves or they will regret going.

Missy, So sorry! Its an all inclusive resort it should accomidate a party of more than 10 people. What about when they are at max capacity... I dont get it... Howhard is it to accomidate you and your family... I was there in january and the resturants look like they can accommodate more than 50 people. If you book the bana for hibachi... they have about 4 tables which can accommodate up to 12 people. My fiance and i want to do the welcome BBQ on the beach the day before the wedding which will also be our rehearsal dinner. The more my fiancé and I read the reviews the more concerned we are...

Hi Ev, This is a site for us brides and a place for you to vent... Girl vent if you have to!!! We Re here to support each other. I am happy to hear that things are working out for you... This whole back and forth is not what a bride needs and I am not happy that you have gone through this... Still looking for a travel agent in NYC who is Spanish and English speaking. Ugh I am torn because my friends mom is a travel agent but I am concerned that people will give her a hard time, or things won't work out and that this will cause a problem and ruin a fruendship. I don't want to ruin a friendship and I don't want to go with the Miami office either. We tried speaking with liberty travel and that is not gonna work...

Hey ev, Sorry you had to go through that. Yea it's a different person and reading all of the reviews about the Miami office makes me kinda anxious at times. We were gonna do the wedding planner but already had money down for our site visit and didn't want to loose that credit.... I am keeping all of the emails cuz it sounds like things can get crazy.... I hope that you don't have to go through any more craziness. This should be a fun and relaxing process. Massiel, that name sounds familiar. the manager at PPR's name is Massiel as well.. I didn't get to meet her when I was at the resort but she was on vacation. We met with Mariella another planner. Good luck and good night!

Typo... when you paid

Hi ladies we have our date!!! march 22, 2014... yay! My save the dates are ready and we should be mailing them out soon. Question: when you pained your deposit...how much was it? I am reading the invoice and is says we owe money but we were told that it would be 500 dollars. I am so confused! Has anyone worked with Lauren and Jessica? I was working with marylin but was now transferred to Lauren.

Ev, You are absolutely right!!! There should not be hidden fees or surprises... A contract is a contract and it is their responsibility to let you know... This is ridiculous. I hate how one minute you think things are going smooth and then we hear something else and it shakes things up... This creates anxiety for all of us!!! Regarding the DJ I met with aventos entertainment. The guy George seemed really nice but did not really speak English my fiancé had a difficult time communicating with him but as I mentioned before we will get our best man to take over.... They give you a sheet where you list the songs that you would like them to play. They make sure to have it ready for your day. it is not just carribbean music they play what you would like Them to play....

Hey Missy, Thank you. I need someone who is in the NYC area since i know my family would like to go to their office. UGh it is so annoying but they are not as modern as we are and i know they are going to want to go speak to somone in person ha!!!

Hi EV, Yes. I know all of the changes are annoying to me. During our love at first site my fiance and i requested to have DJ mannia and asked what happened to them since we had read all of the amazing reviews. The ladies in the romance department shared that their contract expired and the new entertainment company was aventos which we had never heard of... I am sure it will be fine. As long as you give your dj the song choices that you want it will be fine. I do not think they will charge you for an outside vendor fee since you booked your wedding in 2012. I still have so many questions. my fiance and are in the process of filling out our contract yikes... Does anyone know of a travel agent in the NYC area???

Hi Erica, The food is amazing and the presentation is great. We are really into having the sit down dinner which gives it a nice feel... Yes i met the new DJ Aventos entertainment. I was told by the romance department at the resort that the DJ mannia is no longer working with them and that all of the DJ's that worked with DJ Mannia have transferred to another company. I was not happy with the MC who does not speak much English. Which may be a bit a problem because my fiance's family does not speak spanish. So we have decided that our best man who is a dj and MC in NYC will take over lol at some point.

Hello all, I was at ppr in January and had a menu tasting. we had the fish, chicken and steak which were all delicious. I also tried the two options for salad which were both amazing. the desert choices were good and the cake was amazing... I am so happy with the food at the resort...

Thanks ladies!!! Yes, you were right they give you 3 spaces. We are thinking of having the beach wedding, plaza colonial and Olympus terrace... Can we get an LED floor for the Olympus terrace? Do you know if theere is a possibility to have a sit down dinner in this area? I am starting to have anxiety lol again... So much to think about!!! Does photo souvenier do videos??? What is the charge for that? Last question, We are looking for a travel agent in the NYC area that speaks spanish and english.... Does anyone have a recommendation? Thanks gals have a wonderful day!

Good Morning ladies, I just Learned that each wedding is allowed two event spaces and that the cocktail hour has to take place where the reception takes place... How are you ladies handling this? Which are your locations???? We are looking at the wedding on the beach, cocktail hour at plaza colonial or Olympus terrace and reception at one of the Apollo rooms or Olympus terrace.... Were you ladies able to book the Apollo rooms one year in advance??? Thanks

Hi DP1andDP2, I am having some trouble with the Miami office. I have not heard back from them in over a week and i have sent a few emails. I am waiting to see if i hear from them this week. I hope this is not how they are when the wedding gets closer.

Good Morning Ladies, I am having trouble with the miami office. I emailed them after our trip home over a week ago. I have not heard back and have sent various emails. My fiance and would like to have some questions answered and want to book our wedding for spring next year. How long does it usually take to hear from them? before our trip it usally took a day or so but it has been over a week. Even though we had a bit of trouble during our trip my fiance and i are set on this place. It really feels like paradise when you are there and that is the feel we are looking for. I feeling anxious because i would just like to book our date already...
