Beach Palace????
Nicolew412 replied to Carly9495's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Wow, with 40 people you didn't qualify for the private function? I was thinking with just 30 people (15 rooms at 5 nights each (at least)) it would bring us to 75 room nights which would allow us to qualify for unlimited private functions and cocktail hours. Eekk...I'm worried about all the additional fees if we don't qualify for it, but I guess it is what it is. I also opted out of doing the room block, because my wedding coordinator is allowing me to have all my guests book on one outside website (I chose travelocity.com). If they all book on one website, I can still qualify for the wedding group benefits. I'm just worried about not having rooms blocked, because it's a smaller hotel and I know a lot of my guests will book last minute. Was the hotel packed when you went, or did it seem like there was some vacant rooms? -
Hi Melmelly, I am getting married at the Beach Palace on July 12th, 2013. I am going with the photographer who comes with the wedding package, Ocean Photo Studio. I paid for the Pearl Shimmer colin cowie wedding package. It seems a bit pricey at $3,500 just for the ceremony, but you can use your $1,500.00 resort credit toward the package, so it comes out to only $2,000.00. I am worried about my guests booking enough nights to get the reception free, but hopefully I qualify for the free private function and cocktail hour. I was worried about guests wanting to book through a travel agent too, which is why I opted out of doing a room block. I decided to have all my guests book through an outside website, like www.travelocity.com where they can book flight and hotel together. It saves them money! I am unsure about the DJ as well. I think I'm going to just rent the speakers and do an IPOD hookup & have a friend announce first dance, etc... I am booking Zuniga for reception decor. She found decor that matches the Pearl Shimmer package well for the table decor, and I'm doing purple lights under the table and floating candles in the pool. That's about it! Don't want to go too crazy on decor, the prices add up quick. I have bought my dress already. It will be ready December 10th. My bridesmaid dress has been picked and almost all of my bridesmaids have been fitted and bought their dress already as well. What are you doing for bridesmaid flowers? I believe the package comes with flower for bride to hold during ceremony, but are the bridesmaid flowers really expensive? Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have :-) - Nicole

Beach Palace????

Hi Saric83, I had a question RE: your reception. How many guests did you have? I'm a little worried about the reception costs. They're adding up quick! My hopes are that my guests book 75+ room nights so I get the unlimited private function and cocktail hour. That will cover the food + alcohol costs of the reception, however I was told that it's still $30.00 per person to have your reception outdoors (even if you receive the free private function). Is this what you paid? Or did you have your reception indoors? I have also contacted Zuniga. I plan on having the reception on the sky terrace next to the pool. I have confirmed with Zuniga on getting floating candles, reception table decor, and purple lights under the table. I'd love to hear about what you had! - Nicole -

I don't think that's the Beach Palace. I went to your facebook. I don't see any albums for the Beach Palace. Can you share any pics you've done there? -
Beach Palace Wedding- Colin Cowie Package 2013
Nicolew412 replied to Nicolew412's topic in Newbies!!
Dear Matt, Thank you for these pictures! They're stunning!! I actually contacted Del Sol photography and they sent me this slideshow. You did an amazing job! My ceremony is at 6:00 p.m. in July 2013. Del Sol Photography gave me that time suggestion. Beach Palace won't do a 5 or 5:30, so I had to go with 6 p.m. Thank you for these photos! If you capture anymore Beach Palace wedding in the coming months, please share :-) -
Yea, I figured that would be a problem. I know you mentioned you only had a group of about 10. I plan on having 30 guests, so about 15 rooms. I didn't do the group block. If my guests don't book till February 2013 or later (wedding is in July 2013) do you think they'll have any issues getting a room? I know some of my guests are slackers when it comes to actually booking their trips (last minute!), but I don't want them to not be able to get a room at all! A little nervous about not having the blocked off rooms What do you think? How far in advance did you and guests book your trip before wedding? I appreciate all your help!!!

Kita's Beach Palace Thread
Nicolew412 replied to Renewing32's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Congrats on your vow renewal Kita! Looks like you're on top of everything. I am getting married at Beach Palace on July 12th, 2013 I noticed on a previous post of yours that your coordinator said that you can't reserve the sky terrace until 3 months from your wedding date. However, I don't think that's true. My wedding planner has already reached out to me (her name is Margarita), and she said the sky terrace is reserved for my wedding ceremony on July 12th. I decided to purchase the Pearl Shimmer Colin Cowie wedding package for the ceremony, and to make things easier for myself I'm just going to go with the reception table decor that comes with the package. It's $300.00 per table, which is pricey, but I feel like it will be worth it. Quick quesiton- have you thought about music at all for the reception? My planner sent me info on JSAV, which is quite expensive. But I've been reading on this website, that PSAV is another preferred vendor and that they're cheaper. Just curious if you have any info on them. Good luck with everything and please reach out if you have any questions! - Nicole -
Does anyone know how quickly Beach Palace fills up? I know it's among the smaller resorts, and I'm a little worried because I opted out of doing a group contract (and blocking off rooms) because I know my guests prefer booking flight + hotel together on outside websites (due to cheaper pricing and convenience). I'm just a little worried that if some of my guests book later next year, there may be no rooms available. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Also, what has your experience been using the $1,500.00 resort credit to upgrade your room to a ocean view? I've been telling me guests to book a cheap, lagoon view room because of that resort credit. Thanks guys, Nicole

Beach Palace Wedding- Colin Cowie Package 2013
Nicolew412 replied to Nicolew412's topic in Newbies!!
I would love to see some pictures or videos of recent brides at Beach Palace or any of the Palace resorts who have done the Colin Cowie package! & hear about their experience :-) -
I was told directly that Ocean Photo Studio's is there preferred photographer. If you use them, there are no day pass fees. If you go with an outside photographer there is a $91.00 day pass fee- but the $500.00 outside vendor fee does NOT apply anymore. I was told this same answer multiple times, so maybe just email your planner once more and confirm. I'm actually going with Ocean Photo Studio because the Pearl Shimmer package I purchased comes with a a photo session with them, so that was the easiest thing for me to do. As far as the outside reception/private event costs- my sales coordinator broke this down for me. I undestand that you have a group contract correct? So if you earn enough hotel nights through that, then you get the private reception/cocktail hours at NO additional costs. You won't have to pay the $30.00 outside fees etc... Those extra fees only apply if you don't qualify for the private functions/cocktail hours. When I asked my planner about music, she only send me a info packet for JSAV. I read on this forum that PSAV is cheaper, so I emailed her for info on them. She hasn't gotten back to me. I'd love to use PSAV for music, DJ, etc...because JSAV had quite expensive Hope that helps! I'm a little worried about the $300.00 fee per reception table for decor. But I'm only planning on 30 guests, so I'm fitting 1200 into my budget for reception tables. It would be a joke if I had to pay an additional $30.00 per guest to do an outside dinner. That's not happening. lol so hopefully they stick to their word. - Nicole

Quick question- What time did you guys book your ceremony for? I originally chose 4:00 p.m. but after contacting Del Sol Photography they suggested 6:00 p.m. for a July wedding, so I contacted my planner and she changed it to 6. The photographer told me the pictures would be beautiful at sunset, and with a 20-30 minute ceremony 6:30 would be a perfect time to go down to the beach and take pictures. Just curious what you guys decided. Also, I asked my planner to send me the music services brochure. She only sent me JSAV, however I've read on these forums that PSAV is an alternative that Palace Resorts used to offer and they're cheaper. I asked my planner to email me their brochure, but she hasn't gotten back yet. I am dead set on having a traditional type of reception, and would love to have a dance floor, dj, music, etc...but the costs are adding up quick I'm hoping PSAV is considerably less money, and will help me afford at least a DJ. Let me know what you guys are doing as far as music goes. Thanks! - Nicole
