  1. For any past Beach Palace brides- just curious, how close to your wedding date did most of your guests book their trips? I am about 5 months away and we're only at 33 room nights, around 10 people I know there are a few more guaranteed booking, but I'm just nervous. I invited 70 people, and only a couple have sent back the RSVP cards saying they can't go. So there are still so many up in the air. I hope people make it! Also, I was wondering for any past beach palace brides that didn't have a huge wedding party- how was the private dinner reservation after the ceremony? If we don't have at least 30 people, we aren't going to have a big reception. Instead, we're going to utilize the dinner reservation for 30 people that the wedding package comes with. But I still want to have first dance, cake cutting, etc...I wonder how "private" the dinner reservation really is? Like is it private enough to have a ipod dock setup for background music? Any help would be great! Thanks, Nicole

  3. JSAV is there preferred vendor. They are not working with PSAV anymore. My coordinator told me it would cost a $500.00 outside vendor fee to bring PSAV in
  4. Here is the model in the dress I bought... and here is me... :-) My favorite part is the corset back! I love love love it!
  5. I'm so frustrated! I booked my flights from San Francisco International Airport to Cancun, Mexico for July 9th, 2013 and July 16th, 2013. Both flights were NONSTOP flights. Flight was supposed to leave at 8:45 a.m. and arrive in Cancun at 4:00 p.m. on July 9th! I booked this back in November! I just got notified that my flight intinerary changed and that my new flight will leave SFO at 6:00 a.m., stop in Houston TX, and then arrive in Cancun at 3:30 p.m. Flight time is almost the same, with just an additional 1 hour lay over. But I'm sooo frustrated because I booked nonstop flights for a reason! I'm going to have my huge wedding dress, and I didn't want to have to deal with getting on and off flights. Has anyone dealt with this type of thing? I feel like it was false advertising by UNITED airlines to advertise nonstop flights and then switch it on us a few months before the departure date. I'm so frustrated! And then to top it all off one of my bridesmaids just found out she's pregnant. By the time we leave she'll be 6 months. I highly doubt she's going to go to Mexico now :-( And another bridesmaid of mine may not be going either, because he husband doesn't want to spend the money on the trip :-( And I have a million people complaining about prices still. I feel like no one is going to be there. Can anything else go wrong?
  6. Thank you! Yes, I think I'm going to go with the silk bouquets. $100.00 each for the real flower bouquet is just too much. Thanks for the advice :-)
  7. Hey Kristie, Wow, I checked out that website! Amazing, they're beautiful and look so real. It says you have to order 4-6 months in advance though. My wedding is July 12th, so I'm less than 6 months away. I'd be worried they wouldn't come in time. How much did it cost for the 5 bridesmaid bouquets? Good idea, that would be terrible if he couldn't play the songs I brought him. But I also wouldn't want him playing some weird songs I don't know or like, lol. Do you know what song you're going to walk down the aisle to? - Nicole
  8. Has anyone ever seen silk flower bouquets? I'm seriously thinking of ordering 6 of these ivory/purple silk bouquets off this website I found for all my bridesmaids, instead of paying $100+ for each real flower bouquet through the hotel. I think that price is ridiculous. The silk bouquets are only $35.00 each, and I was thinking each bridesmaid could carry their own in their suitcase to Mexico. I may just order one to see what they look like, but I was just wondering what you guys thought? Do you think it will look tacky? Also, I chose to have the live saxophone player for the ceremony. I was wondering what you guys are doing RE: music for the ceremony? I was thinking of providing the saxophone player music sheets of the music I would like him to play, so he doesn't just player whatever he wants. Kenny G is one of my favorite saxophone players I may print his music and give it to the musician. What song are you planning on walking down the aisle to? Maybe the traditional "Here comes the bride" song? Or will you have a different song play? Decisions decisions... - Nicole
  9. Hello, It looks as though everything is going great for you! Happy to hear! I thought I had reserved the sky terrace with Clarissa, but since she left (which I wasn't told either, until I contacted her a few times and finally this new Rocio Delgado emailed me back saying she had left), I have no idea anymore! Clarissa had told me I get the sky terrace, but when I tried to confirm with Rocio (to make sure we were on the same page), Rocio told me that they can't guarantee reserved ceremony/reception locations until 90 days before the wedding. So confused here, because I thought I had already reserved it! She told me they will write a note in my file that I want the sky terrace, but it can't be guaranteed. Would you mind sending me Marisol's email? Rocio has been so hard to reach! She doesn't email me back. I have to send her like 5 emails before she finally responds. It's frustrating! Clarissa was wonderful and I am so disappointed she is gone. Good luck with everything! - nicole
  10. My wedding coordinator, Clarissa Arzola, doesn't work for Palace Resort's anymore :-( I just received an email from Rocio Lizbeth Rioja Delgado, who seems to be my new wedding coordinator. I'm a little dissappointed. Clarissa has been so wonderful throughout this whole process, always responding to my emails right away. I also made special arrangements with her on a few things. I'm hoping notes were taken on my wedding requests, etc... I feel like I'm starting over. Anyone been in contact with Rocio Delgado? I hope she is just as good as Clarissa was.
  11. Anyone have pictures of the Pearl Shimmer package they can share? :-)
  12. I'm only using Tania for airbrush makeup + fake lashes- for that it's $125.00. Bridesmaids are $90.00 each. Regular makeup for the bride (not airbrush) with lashes is $100.00, and for bridesmaids is $70.00. Hope that helps! I think Norma from MAC is a little less expensive, but I likes Tania Tagle's work more.
  13. Kristie, My wedding is July 12th, 2013. My coordinator is Clarissa but my planners name is Margarita (both from BP). Clarissa has been a huge help! She is the one I had to pay for the Pearl Shimmer wedding package. Margarita emailed me with flower, cake, food menu, etc...options but I haven't had much contact with her yet; mostly Clarissa! Are you doing the complimentary package? I'm thinking maybe they contacted me so soon because I'm paying so much for the Pearl Shimmer package, and it was paid upfront. I don't know though, just a guess. I started planning in September 2012, so I never worked with the Miami office at all.
  14. Hi Jenni, I'm hopefully doing a cocktail hour after the ceremony, before the reception as well (if we get to our 75 room night goal!). I have a friend who did a cocktail hour after her ceremony at the Dreams Resort at her destination wedding and it worked out perfectly! It gives the bridal party a chance to go down to the beach after the ceremony for pictures, and the guests have a cocktail hour to attend during that break. Then when the bridal party is done with pictures, everyone heads up to the reception. My ceremony is at 6 as well. The ceremony should only be 20-30 minutes, pictures about an hour (during which your guests head to the hour long cocktail party), and everyone heads to the reception around 7:30 or 8:00. That leaves 2 1/2 to 3 hours for reception. I didn't know there was a 10:30 cut off time, but I guess that's ok. I think 3 hours is long enough for dinner and dancing. That means you would only have to pay 1 hour extra for going over the 3 hour limit. My wedding coordinator ( who I paid directly for the wedding package- I'm doing Pearl Shimmer) has been so helpful. I actually spoke to my wedding planner (through email) as well, but she's extremely busy with current wedding at the Beach Palace so my coordinator (also through Beach Palace) has answered all my questions. I would email Beach Palace directly and demand that someone contact you ASAP. I've booked Tania Tagle for makeup. She is will known in Cancun for airbrush makeup and she comes to your hotel to do yours and the bridesmaids makeup. I also have her coming the day before the wedding for a trial makeup session (which works well for the rehersal dinner). For hair- I have a couple hair dresser friends attending the wedding who will do mine and my bridesmaids hair. For flowers- I'm going to purchase silk bridesmaid flowers beforehand and have my bridesmaids each hold their own in their suitcases. The flowers look really real, and they're much cheaper than buying through Marvin or the hotel. I believe the wedding package comes with a real bouquet for the bride. Congrats and good luck with everything! - Nicole
  15. Yes, Brooke! You're completely right. I agree, I chose BP based on rep and reviews as well. It's a beautiful resort and I know our weddings will be perfect. We only get married once (ideally), might as well do it right! We totally understand if people can't make it as well. It's expensive! I'm hoping airline prices drop a little after the Holiday. I'm a July wedding, so I think Jan or Feb will be the best time for my guests to book. But either way, everything will turn out ok. Good luck with everything!!
  16. Thank you Erika! You're so right. People are wanting to stay 7 or 8 days and I'm thinking well if you want to stay that long it's going to cost you! I went to a destination wedding 4 years ago in Cancun, and we only stayed 5 days, because that's all we could afford. I'm hoping people realize that! Thank you for your response! Made me feel better. I will try not to stress for now. What happens, happens. I'm sure everything will work out in the end. And you're right, all that matters is my future hubby and I. Thanks, Nicole
  17. Hey guys, So I was just curious if you've been hearing any complaints from guests you invited to the wedding about how expensive Beach Palace is? I got a great deal on Travelocity.com for my fiance and I- $3,600.00 for 8 days, 7 nights, room upgrade to Ocean View and nonstop flights to Cancun from San Francisco International Airport there and back. I booked Black Friday weekend so they had really good deals. Only problem, is normally for two people to book at Beach Palace (before room upgrades) with nonstop flights it's close to $4,000. I've had people complain and ask why I didn't just stay at one of the cheaper hotels in Cancun. They thing the prices and ridiculous :-( I've been encouraging all my guests to book at Beach Palace because I really want the wedding benefits (free reception, cocktail hour, etc...). I'm just feeling stressed. Has anyone else ran into this problem?
  18. WOW, your pictures are stunning! They were so creative! I bet you're so pleased. Congrats to both you and your new hubby :-) I have a couple questions for you... 1) Who was your photographer? I am in love with your photos. 2) My bridesmaid dresses are almost the exact same color as your bridesmaids (royal purple). Did you purchase bridesmaid flowers at the hotel for your bridesmaids? I love the mix of pinks and purples in your bridesmaid bouquets. I was thinking of buying silk flowers for my bridesmaids and bringing them down to Mexico with me. Beach Palace wants to charge an arm and a leg for maid of honor bouquets, etc...so I was just wondering what you did here? 3) Did you receive the wedding benefits? Free reception, cocktail hour, etc...? If not, how much did it cost you for the reception? 4) Did you use Zuniga for reception decor? I have contacted them to do floating candles in the pool, lights under the tables, etc, so I was just wondering what you used? 5) What is the name of the terrace where you had the reception? I want my reception at this rooftop pool as well. 6) Did you have a DJ, or did you just do the ipod and speakers through PSAV? Thanks so much! Congrats again. It looks as though everything turned out perfect :-) - Nicole
  19. Dear Shan0487, I heard differently. Clarissa from BP told me that JSAV is now their preferred vendor, and you do have to pay the $500.00 outside vendor fee if you use PSAV. Good Afternoon Nicole, We are not longer working with PSAV, the only vendor now is JSAV any outside vendor will cost you $500 usdL Do you still want to get the PSAV pricelist? Regards, Clarissa That's her direct email to me.
  20. Stacie, I now remember I had emailed Clarissa at BP about this. Their preferred vendor is JSAV, and they will charge an outside fee of $500.00 for any outside vendors, including PSAV. Good Afternoon Nicole, We are not longer working with PSAV, the only vendor now is JSAV any outside vendor will cost you $500 usdL Do you still want to get the PSAV pricelist? Regards, Clarissa That's the email I received from her! Hope this helps, - Nicole
  21. Hi Stacie, I'm a July 12th, 2013 bride, so we're pretty close! I've put a deposit down on the Pearl Shimmer package. They've confirmed that I'll get the sky terrace for my ceremony, and the other sky terrace with the pool and bar for my reception (not sure what this terrace is called). I've contacted an outside Vendor, Zuniga, for reception decor. I'm not going too big, as I don't want to spend too much money on this. I'm just doing a simple reception table decor that kind of matches the Pearl Shimmer theme, purple lights under the tables, and floating candles in the pool. As for PSAV- I am still up in the air about getting a DJ. I'm definitely getting the speaker and IPOD, but I may just have a friend DJ for me. I'm not doing a dance floor, too expensive. I'm going with Ocean Photo Studio for photography. They come with the wedding package, and I like their work. I will probably upgrade to a better photography package and video. My wedding dress comes in on December 10th, so excited! All my bridesmaid dresses are ordered as well. My fiance and I have booked our trip. Hotel + airfare on travelocity.com for 7 nights, 8 days at the Beach Palace. None of our guests have booked yet though, but I'm expecting people to begin booking in January 2013, after the holidays. I sent my Save the Date's out about 2 months ago, and my invitations are all ready to go, I just have to mail them. Clarissa from Beach palace has been very helpful. She's the one who helped me book the Pearl Shimmer Package and has been sooo helpful, answering any questions I have. Margarita Patino is my wedding planner. She sent me food options, etc...after I booked the Pearl Shimmer package, but I think it was a mistake, because your wedding planner isn't really supposed to contact you until 60 or so days before the wedding. I've been emailing her too, but she does not respond. Clarissa is much better at responding. If you have any questions let me know! - Nicole
