  1. Also, I left the wooden sign I made that says "Shoes here, Vows there, love everywhere" for future brides to use. Gloria said people are always looking for signs like that but people always have their names on them....so future brides, enjoy!!! A pic below, taken from a relative.
  2. Hey all! I'm officially back to work today and all I can say about the resort and our wedding is WOW!! Everything was fantastico! I used the resort photographer and knew I was taking a risk but Oscar from Beach Wedding Studios was AMAZING! I'll post pics prob tomorrow. My wedding video included was expertly edited and done wonderfully (I don't know if that's because I used the in house photog.) Gloria was absolutely awesome and made everything so spectacular. All of my guests want us to have a 5 year anniversary trip!! Seriously the most amazing experience I've ever had. I'll be doing a review as soon as I can get my thoughts together about this whirlwind trip and wedding of a lifetime! If anyone has any questions I'll do my best to try to answer. Karijean, I just got married on 7/27 and it was 93 degrees that day. I got married at 5 on the beach and didn't sweat a bit there or having cocktails on the pier. Our photographer took us around to the resort and it was a little warmer but the temp did drop. I actually expected it to be much worse. We did have our reception at Barcelona (where the buffet is everyday) and it was much nicer than I thought it would be. They transformed it and didn't make it feel like the same restaurant. Hope this helps! Mandy
  3. Well ladies....I fly out tomorrow, wedding is Saturday! I just want to thank everyone for all of their help! I'll be sure to reciprocate with a review when I get back and I'll try to pop in while away! TrishaJ34, thanks for the bug spray tip. I already have some packed! Was the bug biting during the wedding or just in general? Thanks again girls!!! Mandy
  4. Thanks so much! I absolutely cannot wait! I can't wait to see more photos of you! BTW, your hair looks amazing and not frizzy at all!
  5. OMG! I was wondering how everything went!! So happy to hear that everything went so well! You look stunning! I'll have to request Elias next week! I'm super excited. You could have written more or included more pics...I would have kept reading! Mandy P.S. Did you get upgraded from a standard junior suite to an excellence club room? Congrats!!
  6. Thanks so much about the cake stalking info I'm so glad everything was so super fantastic for you! I'll be arriving next Tuesday! Can't wait! Mandy
  7. I'm getting married 7/27 in Puerto Morelos and will be staying until 8/2. I may have a few things you may be interested in. I have a rustic sign that says, Shoes here, Vows There, Love everywhere made from old wood. I also have lightweight plastic lantern type things with branches , and several burlap table toppers. PM me if you want pics! Mandy
  8. TealMarie, I know! I can't believe it's already almost here!!! I am very excited and prepaired to just roll with everything. I have some minor personal touches but I really tried to not complicate things. In the end, if the flowers are flourescent yellow, the cake isn't served and something else happens, I'll still be getting married! That's the most important thing! Mayerlis, Thanks for your review! I really wanted the Foyer but I was concerned it would be too hot. Nice to know about the pool and no other 24 hr options except room service. I guess nothing can stop a group of friends from hanging out in one room and ordering a bunch of food tho! All future brides here, Destination weddings are meant to be laid back. Please don't stress the little things! I am detail oriented and orgainzed but kept things simple. I may make some enemies here by saying this but my travel agent said it best when she said "if you need to have control over every detail a destination wedding isn't for you." I can't wait to party with my guests and be a Mrs! I leave on the 23rd and return on 8/2. I'll be sure to check in and do a review. Mandy
  9. Wow, that's a shame that your experience was bad. I wouldn't wish that on anyone!! Good tip on the cake TrishaJ34! (Btw, congrats and I'll look forward to your report when you get back.) I'll be sure to mention it to Gloria as well. I'm also bringing basic cake bags in hopes that our guests can take some back to their room. I leave in two weeks from today!!!
  10. Also, I read on this forum somewhere that a past bride asked the resort to charge them in pesos not USD and they saved about $300 based on the exchange rate. I'm wondering if this is true or if the resort will even do that? Thanks everyone.....1 month from today I'll be getting my hair and makeup done. Mandy
  11. Sofia, That helps ALOT! I had already planned on calling my bank and making them aware. I heard some people have asked the hotel to charge them in pesos instead of USD. I don't know if that's a good idea or not. Thanks again!!!! Mandy
  12. Hey girls! I posted this in the general forum but I want to ask here too because you'll all know this resort best: Hi! This post goes out to anyone who has gotten married or has used a credit card in Mexico. I'm hearing that banks typically charge you 3% on all transactions using your card. I plan to pay my balance of my destination wedding with mine and 3% could turn into a decent chunk of change. Is this true and are there any ways to get around it besides carrying a load of cash? Thanks! Mandy

  15. Quick question...a guest of mine is asking if ERC has vendors come in for shopping? They did this at another resort I stayed at a few years ago. I think she doesn't want to leave the resort but still wants to buy souviners. Thanks! Mandy
  16. I know it sounds kind of weird but I ordered my fiance this: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/128839289?ref=fb2_tnx_title It's a man bracelet, lol. Basically, a piece of copper on a leather cord with the lat. and long. of the general area on the beach where we'll be getting married. To everyone else it'll just be a bunch of numbers but he'll know. I am also considering boudoir photos but I'm still undecided. We didn't discuss getting each other gifts and this was inexpensive, but I hope he likes it. After all, he got me this giant rock!!
  17. You look absolutely AMAZING and so happy!! I can't wait to hear all of the details. Also, so glad to know Gloria is a wonderful as she seems!! Congratulations Mr & Mrs!!
  18. I can't wait to hear how everything goes! May all of your dreams come true!
