@ The wedding was perfect! looking back i am so happy that I didn't change anything about it. It was my dream wedding for sure! with regards to my family, there have been a few attempts from my estranged aunt. About a month after my wedding i wrote to her requesting another get together to talk every thing out and she didn't reply. Last Christmas she came to my house while I was at work and left presents on my front porch....I wasn't too happy about that....i'm not 5 and can't be bribed with gifts. I called her for her to explain...she refused to take ownership for anything she said and did and insisted I owed her the apology. I donated the gifts.... a few months ago she mailed me pictures of my deceased father with a note saying "keep them or throw them out...i don't care" that I believe was her attempt to get i rise out of me but I have not responded. my entire family has "cut me off". they have deleted me from facebook and don't reach out on birthdays or holidays. Sorry for the long winded reply, its been a tough road. Fortunately I have an amazing husband and a fantastic group of girlfriends and the cutest baby girl in the world. My life is as it should be. hopefully you are not going through the same thing...if you are...keep your head up and smile (people hate that!) lol

Hello Ladies My FI and I had a civil ceremony (in ontario) to make our marriage legal before we went away. Does anyone know what documents I need to bring to Jamaica with me? will a photocopy of the marriage licence be enough? also, is there any other documents they need. This forum is more helpful than my WC... I'm leaving in 2 days and I want to be prepared. Thanks!! Sher

Thanks for all the support ladies! I'm leaving this Saturday to Jamaica for my dream wedding with 63 people who love and support us!! The week will be amazing and my wedding day will be nothing short of perfection!! As much as I wished that the situation never happenned....it made me realize who is really there for us and I appreciate those people so much more! Hello Brides My wedding is next week....July 23rd. We are leaving this weekend and I can't wait!! As i'm tying up all the loose ends before I leave I had one question.... Does the resort accept credit card to pay for the balance of the wedding? I don't feel comfortable travelling with a large amount of cash. I did email the wedding coordinator but it takes a while for her to respond. Thanks Ladies!

So, I am less than 2 weeks away from my wedding and my family is driving me mental! The aunt I originally posted about has gone way off the deep end. Over the past few months I have tried numerous times to sit down and talk to her. She has ignored me, hung up on me, invited me to her house for a bbq and when I told her I could only come for the afternoon because I had another party to attend....she called me 2 days before and told me not to bother coming and hung up on me. She then wrote me an e-mail telling me saying "as you know from past family history we have cut people off for years and went on to lives our lives very nicely" she also said "you have turned in to someone I dont even know...and don't even like". I told her that she is not cutting me off but cutting herself off...my life will continue whether she is a part of it or not.... I heard nothing since...that was in May. This past weekend we had our jack and jill. Since we had to legally get married here (in Ontario) before we leave, we decided it would be fun to have a civil ceremony to surprise our guests. It was very informal (hubby wore a t shirt with a tuxedo print on it lol) and I wore a fun novelty veil for the ceremony. We had a great dinner, played some games and then surprised our guests (120 ppl) with the ceremony! then we went on with the jack and jill. in no way, shape or form was this a wedding. Our guests loved it and it really made the party awesome! until the next morning...... I get a txt from the aunt saying "THANKS!!!!!" (twice) another from another relative saying "people are very upset with you...." let me say that EVERYONE in my family knew about the jack and jill and not a single person replied..... whats that saying "you snooze, you lose" I'm getting awful msg's from family members. One is even insisting that the jack and jill was my wedding and that i'm being selfish by having people spend money to go to Jamaica (which they claim is now my honeymoon) I hate when people base their story of assumptions....use the facts, There was no ring exchange, no wedding gown, no first dance....nothing but a few words and signing of the legal documents. Its not my fault that they decided to "cut me off". rant done!

Hello Ladies I'm getting married at GPLH 5 weeks today!! I'm so excited! I have a few questions... My ceremony is at the angels atrium, do they have a cart or train that will take me and my bridal party to the atrium? its a faaar walk from the honeymoon villa's. also, is there a place for us to "hide" so that the guests (or groom) dont see us coming? Our dinner is at the Blue Lagoon, we are having a buffet style dinner (no dj or dancing) My question is...is there a bar at the blue lagoon? is it extra? I did email my coordinator but she takes a while to reply back. Thanks ladies, Sher

I called my uncle the other day...I needed to hear it from him. He told me that he felt that there was no need for all of us to get together because it was between my aunt and I and he felt it didnt concern him. I told him that it did concern him....maybe more because I had asked him to walk me down the aisle.....and he said "yes". He replied "that was before I knew the dates" He went on to say that this was not the time of year they prefer to take their holidays and that one of his coworkers takes his holiday in July (I guess that means the entire month?!?) I asked him if he even tried and he said "no". He knows the coworker wouldn't budge so he never even asked. So, they didnt even try..... they gave up back in Oct and when I wouldn't change the date like they asked.....they blame me for not accomodating them. I'm hurt that they wouldn't even try, I'm offended that they are talking such trash about my wedding, I'm sad for the once beautiful relationship that now can never be......
