Hi Ladies =) I was wondering if you could offer suggestions... I am having just a one drink waiter served cocktail party (one drink included is the main point) the first night where I will be distributing the OOT bags. What I am struggling with is what to call it. I don't want to call it a cocktail party because I feel people may think they can be served many drinks. Do you all have any suggestions of what I can say on the invitation to drive the point home that this is only a quick thing? Maybe "Pre-Dinner cocktail" or "Out of town bag distribution"? It just sounds so much tackier than "Welcome cocktail reception" or something. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have a travel agent, Wendy Hicks, whom a lot of people recommended on this forum. I know some of the other girls have a good one as well. It's a lot easier to have a TA because then they can deal with all of the guests, and you can get all of the booking information from one source. I found it helpful. Best of luck!

Oh I LOVE that! I may be changing my mind! Were the votives included in the price? I was tempted to order a bunch of these candle holders from Dollar Tree and bring them! For the price, you can't beat it, but if they are included, then it's one less thing to worry about! http://www.dollartree.com/floral-decor/Wholesale-Bulk-Candles-Holders-Votives/Long-Stem-Glass-Tealight-Candleholders/202c205c205p331127/index.pro

On the maracas, I am waiting to hear back from the resort. She said she had a source for the hand painted ones. Waiting to hear the cost on that. If it's too much, I may just buy them on 5th Ave. There were multiple places that had them for $1 each, and I would bet if you are buying a ton they would even negotiate the price. That is probably the route I will take. Plus, you don't need to deal with getting them to Mexico which is a plus. Yes, I think the rose petal storm is just people throwing them. I was going to get the cigar roller, but a friend of mine who is big on cigars said that you shouldn't smoke the fresh rolled ones right away and they should sit for about 2 weeks--it would be better for people to take them home. Given that, I think I will just buy a box for people to smoke if they wish, at the Welcome BBQ.

I think we will just stand on the sand at the end at the Gabi Club and say hello to everyone as they exit (like a receiving line). After everyone proceeds through, we will go off to take pictures. If anything gets thrown, it would need to be as you walk down the aisle together. We are just doing the maracas and "shake at the kiss'. Hope this helps

This thread is amazing! Thanks ladies! -
I would definitely avoid October. I have been to Playa in July and in end of November. In July it was hot--mid to high 80s and even into the lower 90s. In November it was beautiful--high 70s to low 80s, but rained 4 of the 8 days. When I was trying to pick a date, I avoided that time because I thought it would stink to ask people to spend the money to come down only to have it rain on their vacation, not to mention on your wedding! I would go July before end of August because I would avoid approaching the rainy season at all costs! But you should definitely go with your gut!

Hi Ladies! Wondering if you can help. My colors I settled on are a light, light peach, gold and ivory. I would like the bridesmaid dresses to be this light peach, but I haven't come across any designers that have this color. I am stumped! I see blush pink everywhere, but not peach. I was thinking when spring 13 came out that would help. Any help would be much appreciated

Ring Bearer ring holder

I recently purchased a small hand painted ceramic bowl when I visited Mexico that I will be using. It looks kinda like this, but in our colors. We bought two and will be using them as ring bowls for our nightstands when we get home http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=Lnq&sa=X&tbo=d&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1616&bih=960&tbm=isch&tbnid=BnUAj3Nru-PPcM:&imgrefurl=http://www.craftmontaz.com/products/mexican-ceramics-bowl-info.html&docid=HA5l2H46h5uBdM&imgurl=http://www.craftmontaz.com/webImages/5958_talavera-style-bowl-1a.jpg&w=1200&h=900&ei=MtTUUMqwKJKE9QTy9oGoDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=181&vpy=128&dur=804&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=157&ty=103&sig=109375355936164979038&page=1&tbnh=141&tbnw=187&start=0&ndsp=41&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0,i:94
