  1. Of course I don't mind! I actually didn't stay at the resort, because it was a vacation I already had planned when I got engaged. I am going back to stay there in August, wedding in December. As far as the tasting, they offered that I choose two (2 apps, 2 entrees), but they made an exception and let me try 3 entrees, which was very nice. I was not offered to try the hors d'oeuvres. The food is amazing!!!!
  2. I would contact Myrna (the other WC onsite) at [email protected] I also had a hair/makeup trial when I was there, which you can schedule with the spa manager, Mariela Wiley, at [email protected] Hope this helps!
  3. Look on etsy. You can get custom ones with your new last name
  4. No, I'm talking about if you have to pay for the vendor to stay in your hotel. Like, to have the DJ that we are flying it stay there, the group rate for a single is $300/night.
  5. Has anyone booked live musicians? Was thinking acoustic guitar for ceremony and mariachi for BBQ, but wondering if they have samples of them playing.
  6. Yea, I think they make you fill out that planning form regardless of what you've talked about so that they have everything in one place. Take a deep breath, and definitely schedule that massage =)
  7. I think they have schedules that they charge. At least in my contract it has dates when they automatically charge your card on file.
  8. My onsite coordinator was Ana. She brought me through the tasting. But I did also meet Myrna and I thought they were both very helpful. I think it's hard for them to be "hands on" via email because they have so many weddings to work on at the resort, and think of how many weddings are scheduled that people probably contact them. I would just send them emails confirming everything you talked about. Don't worry about the small number. It will be more intimate. =)
  9. You are lucky! At the Paradisus Playa del Carmen the rate is $900 something for the room!
  10. I'm not sure how much of a help I can be, but I can weigh in that we scheduled our ceremony on the bridge at 3:30 and cocktail hour to start at 5:00 so we don't miss it. Figure 30 mins for ceremony and hellos with everyone, and then an hour to take pics. Since it's all inclusive, they can go find a bar somewhere in between. I think if you want signs you will have to bring them. I know a few ladies on the forum bought some on Vistaprint with Groupons. I am flying in a DJ from New Jersey, so thankfully I don't need to worry about all of the order of everything, he is a wedding DJ so he's very familiar. I had a call with him the other day and he said we should get everything done at first (all the dances, then speeches), then dinner and dancing. I recently went to a wedding where they had to postpone the speeches until much later (grooms father fainted) and it was not the best scenario. After people had a few drinks they were much less interested in hearing what the best man had to say. It was sad, really. The guy I have been dealing with to rent the AV equipment, Ruben, seems very knowledgeable and experienced. I would default to them on any questions regarding the order.
  11. I made them as well using rack cards. I love the ribbon as well, but I used a large fiskar hole circle punch and just made a round cutout. If you go that route, put a circle centered in the picture so you don't drive yourself crazy making the holes
  12. I can't post pictures yet, but I wanted to let you all know how AMAZING mine came out! I can't believe it!
  13. I'm interested in the same thing! Thanks for posting this! One thing we are doing (which might not be what you are thinking) is instead of a sand ceremony, we are going to do the love letters that you lock in the wine box. It's more representative of us
  14. I know how you feel I was pretty surprised that the preferred vendor would charge an additional fee for PDC weddings. This is definitely the company they use, and I am unsure why the discrepancy between documents. The spa contact is Mariela, the spa manager. [email protected]. You can book your appointments with her via email.
  15. Thank you, I will try that! When I tried it was with a living social deal so maybe that's why? I appreciate the help!
  16. I'm wondering the same thing! I read earlier in this thread that people were able to do it, but once I tried it wouldn't let me!
  17. They told me if you were an adult, you could utilize both sides. Just the kids can't go on the Esmeralda side
