It's so tough to say because I think that either the gazebo or beach would be beautiful, and it's really a matter of your preference. I'm really not sure about that package, but I believe the "Chill Out Chic" comes with the beach decor that is in the picture. I think the flowers cost additional. If you email the resort, I'm sure they will get back to you quickly.

The trip was amazing! The hotel is gorgeous and the food is awesome! I can't wait to go back! haha The girls there are very helpful. We are all in great hands. The only change for me was that I didn't realize how small the beach was, so we decided to move our welcome BBQ to the poolside location, which is gorgeous as well, so no issue! Also, the 2 sides are much closer to each other than I realized, so my concern about people being too separate was not an issue! I encourage all of you to get there if you can. Pictures are helpful, but to see how everything is laid out really helped me visualize the entire wedding.

If 16 people, the beach is great! I have to say, I was a little concerned after reading reviews online of the beach, but it is beautiful, just short. I am having 100-125 ppl, so it's not an option fr me, but is perfect for you! Poolside is perfect for reception! Don't second guess it. The ballroom would be tough because it is VERY big. I think you made great choices! I would ask the hotel how they privatize beach ceremonies. I believe they privatize the pool for the reception.

Newly engaged and trying to choose a venue!

Hi! Yes, I can definitely send you the document with locations, and another that shows the upcharge for certain locations! Send me your email address and I'd be happy to shoot that over! The resort is absolutely gorgeous! You are in great hands! The Gabi bridge and beach club is perfect because everything is close together, and easy for guests! -
I would double check that they are letting you have children for the ceremony on the La Perla side. I was told no children are allowed at all, even on the wedding day. They have a decorating company, Alquimia, that can do everything for you [flowers, decor, etc.]. If you speak with them they can give you prices. I am most likely buying maracas on 5th Ave. because they are pretty cheap.

Finally got a response from them. They want a set menu for everyone, but an exception can be made and yoou can do 2 entrees to choose from , everyone has to have the same app and dessert. You also have to let them know what everyone is eating, and a seating chart the day of the wedding where which dishes will be served. Extra step, but I guess better than making everyone eat the same thing which is what they originally said.

Ladies, I need help! I am confused with the food options. I am going for my tour and tasting in 2 weeks and was sent the menu options and to choose 2 to try [background--I have the Tailor Made package]. What I am confused about is, for the wedding, do we only get to choose one set menu with no choice for guests? Trying to get a real understanding. I can't imagine that it is set for everyone...I couldn't possibly choose a beef dish for everyone when some people would never eat beef and prefer fish. Then also, I have 2 vegetarians. If anyone has any insight, please let me know what the deal is! Thank you!!!

Thank you, you also! I would have to say that it is easiest on you to use a travel agent, though maybe not the most cost effective. I like the idea of having everything run through one person who keeps track of everything, and can list their contact information on our wedding website. It costs nothing more to the guests, and costs nothing more to you (ultimately). The only disadvantage is that you have to pay $100 for every room in your block, which the balance for your room comes out of 60 days prior and then the rest gets refunded to you at that time. It's a tough pill to swallow that they are holding $5600 of mine until 60 days before the wedding, but I netted out not worrying because we chose a pricey room close to that for ourselves, and we just think of it as paying for the room now. Another advantage of using the TA is that she added a complimentary welcome drink (waiter served) to our block, so there is an additional event where I can hand out the welcome bags--the resort charges $3 each to deliver the,/ None of my guests have booked yet, but I can imagine it being VERY smooth. I used Wendy Hicks on the recommendation of other ladies on the forum, and she is fantastic, responsive and very helpful. I am going down to Playa del Carmen next week and have an appt. for a tour and tasting, make up and hair and engagement photos. After I receive the photos, I am going to have the save the dates made. I will list the wedding website on there which points to Wendy. Please ask away on the questions! I was very confused as to how to approach everything at first and am happy to help anyone! -
Newly engaged and trying to choose a venue!

Yes, there are definitely different room categories available. I am going down in a week and will have a much better handle on what is going on We booked our block with the travel agent for some rooms in La Esmeralda and some in La Perla. The only things I'm worried about now is that it is going to create a divide in the group. I am hoping I can settle this when I go down. The $191 is the group rate, offered at a minimum of 10 rooms. For every ten rooms, they give you a free room (I believe for 3 nights, double occupancy), max 3 free rooms. Our ceremony is on Gabi Bridge and our reception is at Gabi Beach Club. Send me your email address and I can send you a document that has pictures and descriptions of the venues -
I have had a range of responses from, "That's an amazing deal!" to, "That's really expensive", so I guess this is tough to answer because everyone has a different opinion and bank account. I found that most places that I didn't even come close to liking as much were $50 less per person per night, so for a $50 difference, I didn't see the point in sacrificing what I envisioned as my wedding. The only thing I could suggest to you is that if there are people who really can't afford it, have them stay somewhere else and pay for day passes for them. It's really hard having a destination wedding and sacrificing who can come, but unfortunately that's the way it is. Good luck, and I hope everyone can make it to your wedding!

Love this thread! You are all so creative! I was set on making my own rhinestone hoodie with "The future Mrs." because I was disappointed in the quality and expense of the ones they sell online. Didn't even think of etsy for the iron on rhinestones! Thank you! I was going to do the maracas too--with little "Shake at the Kiss" tags, and came across the wooden ones on Oriental Trading. All great ideas! I haven't started making anything...I will need to wait until I get an idea of how many are coming, but I love all of the ideas. I am getting married at the Paradisus in Playa del Carmen, so close to the Royal! Best of luck ladies!
