  1. Hey ladies, So I heard back from Ramon. I have the pricing sheet for 30 guests for the Eternity package. We're not doing any over the top decorations cuz I'm bringing that all down. If any of you would like to see that sheet let me know. Also, we wanted to have one long table instead of multiple tables so here are the dimmensions for that. Let me know if you have any other questions. Hope this helps girlies. Best! From Ramon: We will set 6 rectangular tables all together . each one has 2.44 mts long , 75 cms width. This is what the basic set up will look like.
  2. Thank you so much Sam! BTW one idea you could do to save some $$ is to use the Eternity menu vs the Devine menu for your guests since you'll be having the extra people. Or even see what it would cost for you to do a buffet. You are a god send. Still no word from Ramon. I'll let you ladies know if I get my budget list.
  3. Sam you opened pandoras box. I would also like to see. I sent an email like 2 weeks ago asking for the sheet as well as about doing one long table for the reception and the dimension but no answer yet. Shocking I know....anyways, I've PM'ed you with my email. KellawayandHank- Holy Buckets I live in Broomfield too!! Although we're getting married like a month after you it's still crazy we're so close. I'm going to be look to you for all the best tips and tricks since you'll be going down before me!!
  4. Thanks all for your input. From the look of things it's going to be way cheaper to fly my photographer down for a few days then hire an outsider. Then they can capture the entire weekend. For those of you waiting for airfare I say wait till after the holidays to see if they go down. Also, sign up for the airlines emails, follow them on twitter/facebook. Then you'll be the first to know if they have a sale. Good luck to you all!
  5. Tulumbride- You are always such a wealth of knowledge! Thanks for all the great ideas All you May 2013 Brides- Are you hiring a photographer in Mexico or bringing your own photographer down?? From what I can tell it would be just as expensive or even cheaper in a lot of cases to just bring our own photographer down. Then I could have them take pics the whole weekend and I could get out of the vendor fee. Thoughts??
  6. Hola lovelies, So I am wanting to plan some group excursions while we are in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Do any of you Cancun/Tulum/Riviera Maya brides have any suggestions? I could always just google search it but I'd much rather go with a company that comes with a good recommendation. Let me know!! Thanks!
  7. I don't know what size she needs but I saw quiet a few plus size online last night, I was looking for Mom of Bride dresses for my mom who is also plus size. I ordered my 2nd dress off the Nordstrom website and then if I didn't like them I could return them right in the store. What type of dress is she wanting to wear?? She could always browse online and request that they bring the dresses in. Also, there is a fantastic Non-Profit that I donated my first dress to call Brides Against Breast Cancer. All the dress are brand new, donated from vendors, designers and private parties. They travel all over the US and best part of buying a dress from them is all the profits from the dresses go to women with Breast Cancer!! The prices are unreal too...they're like 50-75% off. So they have tons of dresses in all price ranges. I looked at their website and it looks like they're going to be in your area in Jan 2013! It's worth a shot. I also agree with you about getting a dress that fits her now and altering if needed. That way if it comes down to the wire she's not freaked about having to shed a ton of weight to fit into a dress...one less thing to stress about. Good Luck! http://bridesagainstbreastcancer.org/index.php/upcoming-events/
  8. WOW! You make me feel super under prepared. I better start buckeling down now that we're all at the 6 month mark. Weeelllll, I wanted to let you know about The Wedding Suite at Nordstom. I noticed that your FI Amy isn't a fan of any dresses or trying endless amounts of clothes on. I can't blame her! Especially the stress of finding something perfect for your wedding!!! Anways, this is where I got my dress and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I tried dresses on at all the bridal barns and boutiques and nothing came close to the service and fun I had at the Wedding Suite! First of all it's Nordstrom so you knooow their service is impeccible. Secondly, I was able to find my dress UNDER budget, in fact I got my dress for $400 with tax!!! The stylist never made me feel like I was less important because I wasn't buying a $10,000 Vera Wang. She always had good input and even helped me bling my dress up a bit. The best part is becuase it's The Wedding Suite is literally right in the middle of the store they handle appointments for all the attendants and family. You could set up an appt for Amy and talk with a stylist about what her idea is and what the budget is and they'll pull the looks for her. Sure beats having to comb through racks and racks of clothes and dresses. I don't know if they have one close to you but it's worth a shot if she's super picky! Good luck to you and Amy!
  9. Hi Jennifer, I believe TulumBride is doing a Tequilla tasting. I thought that was a fun and creative idea. Ours might be as simple as meeting in the lobby bar and then going out to the beach at the resort for their movie night or beach fire. Still haven't really put it all together yet...I'm trying to get throught Christmas first. Good luck to you! Best, Melissa
  10. Hey Dina- Don't know if you have already purchased air and what not so I'm speaking from our own personal experience here. We decided to go through a TA who used Apple Vacations. I feel between our TA and Apple they are able to negotiate better prices because they block rooms off and have chartered flights. So for example I believe my FI and I are paying about $1375 for Ocean Front with flight for 6nights so like $229 a night but that is including the flight in there. Anyways, prices are going up by the day so if I were you I would jump on the ball. We used a TA cuz we didn't want to play everyone's traveler coordinator. Also, we and our guests were able to put a deposit of $250 per couple down to lock in our prices/trip. Let's face it not everyone has $3000+ just laying around. If you don't really want to go the TA route then I would suggest contacting the groups department ASAP at the resort. There are a ton of TA's on this site or you can PM for our TA's contact info! Good luck to you! Best, Melissa
  11. Hi Ciaocarla, Our wedding was going to be in Maui but we went from like 12 people to 30+ so we switched to Mexico for the easy of group travel and $$$. Anyways, I did a TON of research about getting married in HI. All you'll need to get is a "Right Away Permit" for the beach and a officiant legally certified in the state of HI. Other than that you can't do much about the crowds but you are honestly going during a slow time for tourism so it shouldn't be tooooo bad! CONGRATS! I'm jealous of your HI wedding. You'll have to share lots of pics with us! Best, Melissa
  12. Hi Dina! The resort is so beautiful and I'm sure I'll be much less stressed about things once I'm there but for now as you can see a majority of us all have questions about different planning issues and we're all here to help. Good luck planning and congrats!
  13. Are they going to allow you to do that? I thought you couldn't alter the packages?? Can you just use the cocktail hour money towards having over 25 guests? This is all so confusing
  14. Pleeeease let me know what they have to say! I want to make sure of the same thing. I hope to God it's not another 15%. I'll cancel my package right now and just go with the complimentary wedding service and have dinner at the buffet if that's what it comes down to.
  15. YAY! Ok I"m going to have to go back and look through the pages again. Thanks so much!
  16. Those were my thoughts as well! I wonder if they charge you to have corona buckets or bottles of wine at the table since it is AI. There's just so many questions that I know if I sent an email I wouldn't hear back from them for a while. So does the service charge mean "tip". I could see them charging tax and then if that 15% is a "tip" then that makes sense too. Hopefully we can get this cleared up.
  17. Yeah I've heard from other brides that they've been able to subsitute/alter certain aspects. I kinda feel like they pick and choose who'll they'll allow to alter packages. Which is super unfair
  18. Amy G- YAY! Do you have any pics or did you do a review for the resort? Any suggestions on meal choices and what to stay away from? You opened up a can of worms and now we'll all be asking you since you've already been down there. Congrats by the way!
  19. Thank you all for the beautiful centerpiece ideas! I really like the ideas in the below pics but unsure how to tie it all together. For those using candels will you use real or flameless? Dazeydawl thanks for the great hint the linen website. Love it.
  20. Murmel- JACKPOT! Thank you for all the gold nuggets of info!! Thank you thank you!! Taegan- Thanks for giving me hope for my dyi centerpices making it in one piece!
  21. First of all I love love love the color purple. Especially, deep purples. I am not doing purple for my wedding but tossed the idea around. Secondly, are any of you lovely ladies doing DYI projects for wedding decor or centerpieces? If so what are you doing or do you have in mind? I am of course addicted to pinterest but would love to see some of the ideas you have!
  22. OMG I love it! I am going to contact our WC or TA and see if that's something we can set up. We were going to spend that money on people anyways and I don't have to lug more than my wedding decor.
  23. Awww so sorry to hear! I've been praying for pretty much all of the east coast since the hurricane. So sorry to hear about the future bro in law!
