I would LOVE to hear about this! Our resort charges $60 per "mini bouquet" and with 4 BM's this is just laughable. I don't need anything huge. I was think like a few gerbera daisys or something "yellow" for each girl. I'm mean they will be hold the darn things for all of 20 min so I don't want to spend an arm and a leg!

OOT bag welcome letter
melnryluvco replied to RRsmile's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Just emailed them to you. Let me know if you are still having an issue opening them. -
I totally agree about the money we're brining in for the resort. Honestly, for that price I would say only if they would have shopped, bought and assembled all the stuff would I consider paying that kind of money. You could find out the times your guests are to be arriving a meet them after they check in at the pool or lobby or whatever. Or just do it at dinner each night. I say you save that money and get yourself a massage!

Why don't you do a Welcome Mixer at the lobby bar or something and hand them out there? Paying money to have them pass the bags out makes my stomach turn! That's money you could be spending on a fun activity or a nice dinner on the beach! Also, if you have bridesmaids and groomsmen put them to work. Divide and conquer have each person take a few bags and be done with it. You should save your hard earned money and do something fun with it...don't pay the resort more than you already are when you have so many people there to help!

I posted this in the Now Sapphire thread but maybe some of you other brides staying at an AMResort knows. Our wedding is at the Now Sapphire. I was wondering if anyone knows if we can stay at the sister properties (ie Secrets, Dream etc) as a "honeymoon"? I was thinking maybe the FI and I could head to one of the sister properties after we get married for a mini-moon. Would it be a ton more money or would they allow us to trade properties for a few nights? If anyone knows or has suggestions let me know.

Welcome!! Congrats on finding this amazing site. These ladies are my sanity life line. I honestly don't think my FI has a clue how stressful things can be. I'm sure he'll be just as surprised as our guests. Men!! Anyways, I'd love to see you Koozies. We're thinking of doing the same as favors for our OOT bags. So I do have a question for you. How much is the boat over to Cozumel? I was thinking about heading over there after we get married as a "honeymoon" for a few days. Well, I'm happy you found us and we welcome your insight and advice! Best, Melissa

I know they have that kind of stuff on Pinterest but if someone has advice that's been there done that I'd be interested as well. I want to find the balance between having just enough time to get ready but a lot of that depends on the resort

We are going with the resort photographer. We don't have the extra funds to put towards an outside photographer. My FI wasn't keen on the idea of the packages at first but with just the bare minimum things that I wanted it (ie. hair, makeup, bouquet, extra chairs for the guests, photographer, etc) it was like $1200 just for those things. Also, you will come to find out that if you chose to do you reception dinner outside of the package anywhere but the buffet they charge you for a "private" menu at $22 a person and if you want it in a "private" location in the restaurant it's another $500. So basically if you don't want to spend money on dinner or a location you have to head to the buffet. I wasn't too happy about getting married and then asking out guests to hurry off to get tables all together at the buffet. Also, the thought of walking around the buffet with a tray in a wedding dress makes me shutter But that's a matter of personal preference. I just knew my guests would all want to eat together after so one way or another we'd be paying because I wouldn't have asked my guests to shell out the $22 to eat together. Good luck and let us all know if you have questions!

Hello fellow frugal brides, Just thought I would let you know that I have found tote bags for OOT bags for $.79 from Ikea!!! They're reusable and can be folded up to put in your guests purses or what have you. All you have to do is join the Ikea Family, which is free, and it qualifies you for the pricing of $.79. This is by far the cheapest tote bags I've found. They only catch is they don't ship these from the website you have to go into the store. Good luck! Best, Melissa

They have some super cute and inexpensive ideas for the kiddos on the Oriental Trading Company. They have both flowergirl/ring bearer stuff as well as stuff for kids that attend the wedding. Good luck!

Hi Megan, Congrats on deciding with a destination wedding...now good luck on deciding where to get married! After the hard decision to move our wedding from Maui to an AI resort we knew we wanted to make the most of our small budget. After much research we decided on the NOW resorts based of the fact that they allow 25 people vs 20 people in their packages. Dreams and Secrets are sister properties the package costs are the exact same as now. So why would I not want to have an additional 5 people that I could invite for the same price as the other resorts that only offer it for 20 people? As you can see from the pricing sheet it's super expensive per person outside the allotted amount. Also the resort is beautiful so it was a no brainer. As far as your dilemma goes between choosing between Puerto Vallarta and Cancun. They are both so different because one is east cost/gulf coast facing and one is west coast/pacific facing. Both are beautiful but different. Cancun has the turquoise blue waters while Puerto Vallarta has the plush jungle feel to the area. So it's a toss up!

Ooooooh Thanks ladies for all the suggestions. Now I'm going to have to look all these up on Spotify!

I know there is probably a thread for this but I want to know what my May brides have to say. What songs have you chosen for you wedding? Walking down the aisle? After vows? First Dance? I'm looking for new or different ideas. If you don't want to share I understand. I'm just looking for new artists or new versions of songs that haven't played a million times.

We're doing one long table as well but I kinda liked the idea of being in the middle. That way you literally are the center of attention and you can be even more surrounded by your guests then just stuck down at the end. Just my thoughts though...

Hmmm maybe you had a blessing by being busy with school the whole time leading up to your wedding! Def can't overthink things with only 10 Days till the wedding. Your wedding was beautiful and you don't seem like you stressed one bit. You know I'll be asking more questions so don't be diappearing on us
