  1. Hey Kt62913- I'm pretty new here myself but I do know that the ladies and gents and vendors on this site are always super helpful. You may be better off by posting this in the Destination Weddings in the Caribbean forum or even the Music/DJ and Photography forums. There are tons of review on here as well under the Vendor Reviews tab. Hope this helps and good luck! Quote: Originally Posted by kt62913 Hello All! That dj really did a great job, really helped make a great party atmosphere!" Any suggestions would be great! Has anyone used Mario Nixon Photography? I love his pics from his website, just looking for feedback. I'm also wondering if anyone has used the powerboat adventures to the Exuma Island? I'm looking at doing this as an outing one day to offer to my guests, but wondering if they offer decent group rates or discounts on large groups? I couldn't find info on groups on their website. One last thing, I'm looking into cool locations for a rehersal dinner... a place with great food, good service, and possibly an entertainment aspect would be ideal. I'm currently looking into The Poopdeck Sandyport. Thanks in advance, any bit helps!!!!!
  2. Thanks soooo much ChocoTaco!! Once again you are my saving grace.
  3. Just so you ladies know my FI has me addicted to Spotify. If you haven't been on there yet you can get a free month. Annnyways, you can have access to pretty much any artist/album out there and then click "make available offline" and it's like accessing your playlist from iTunes. If you have a smart phone or iPod touch they make an app similar to iTune/Music. What's great about Spotify is that you don't have to pay for each individual song. I think it's like $4.99/month but you can always just pay for it right before the wedding and have all the songs you can dream of. My FI and I are big music geeks so this is PERFECT for us since we have so many songs. Not going to lie most of my ceremony list is VSQ...they're just too awesome! Hope this helps you all!
  4. Hey Ladies, I need some help ASAP! We are trying to book our wedding/reception at NOW Sapphire. My FI wants to know exactly how much time we get with the photographer included in the Now to Eternity package or he thinks it's a waste of money. It's too late to get a hold of anyone at the resort and I need to know by the AM so we can send in our deposit. I know you girls would probably get back to me faster anyways. So if you know pleeeease pass that along to me. Thanks!!!

My FI wants to know exactly how much time we get with the photographer included in the Now to Eternity package or he thinks it's a waste of money. 6. mrsnova- 3 weeks isn't bad! That would deff be enough time to come home, rest a lil, and gear up for the next fiesta! My FI wasn't too keen on doing a AHR either until he got a guilt trip from his elderly family members that won't be at the DW that still want to celebrate with us. So after they mentioned that he was on board with doing an AHR. We were suppose to do our DW in Maui but now we have over 25 confirmed guests and it was getting WAAAAY to stressful on me trying to plan a DW for that many people in Maui that wasn't going to cost us an arm and a leg. So we moved it to Rivera Maya but because we decided just this month we now have to find a resort with an evening date on 05.31 or 06.01 available. I'm hoping the NOW resorts but they're pretty books so it might be the Dreams Tulum. At this point I don't really care. Just as long as I can have my sunset pictures. LCB803- So are you having a tough time wither to do an AHR or not or how far apart to space the DW and the AHR?
  7. YAY another CO bride!!! The FI and I are in Boulder. That is a tough one! Just based off what my FI and I are doing...we are getting married end of May and having our AHR Labor Day weekend of 2013. Which may be an option for you. Then you can have an extra day, paid for by your company hopefully, and not have to take much if any time off. And I can only assume Aug/Sept in Portland is nice. Friends of our that have had DW have said that they wished they would have given themselves a little time to do the AHR after the DW so they could get settled back in from their vacay and not have the stress of another party to plan/attend right after they got back. But it's what ever works for you in your life. If you don't have the time and your parents are offering to get heaters then just go with what makes you the most comfortable. Good luck to you and congrats!
  8. We are using a TA and it saves me the hassle of playing TA to my 25+ guests. It's stressful enough to worry about planning a DW let alone worry about who sits where on the plane and multi city travel for my guests. And from the research I've been doing about the quotes my TA has been giving me are spot on with what I've been finding at most travel sites. Also, my TA is more than happy to work with my guests and my FI and I when it comes to using hotel/air credits. She really is a godsend because she gave us so many choices and personal insight to each location. I would suggest if you are going on a muti destination honeymoon you leave the details to a professional annnd I know our TA is going to make sure it is well known we are getting married so we can get all the perks and upgrades. Who doesn't love to get upgraded?? Anyways, if you are only planning a small wedding of just a handful then maybe it makes sense to just play the role of TA but honestly it's nice to have a professional TA who can answer all of grandma's questions on "how safe Mexico really is?" to finding smoking rooms for some guests. There are many TA's on the BDW website but if you are interesting in my TA's info just PM. Good Luck and Congrats!!!
  9. I would see if any of the local sponsor's on BDW or your TA if you're using one has any suggestions. Good luck!
  10. Ooooh I tried that dress on cuz it's so pretty but I'm kinda busty and the diamonds sat right in my clevage and the rouching made my girls evenly more shapely but I just love love LOVE the light airy feeling and diamond detail. ROCK that dress sister since I could not!! We'll need to see pics on the wedding day of that beautiful dress
  11. Love it! Just the right amount of sparkle to the dress too. Congrats!!
  12. ha ha ha if guys only knew the half of wedding planning I'm sure we'd all be getting married at a court house in our slippers!! Buy him one of those tux tshirts and tell him he'll be stuck wearing one of those if he can't decide! He's the only who'll have to explain to his mom why he's stuck it a tux t
  13. Man there's some good choices out there ladies!!! Gosh it's so hard to pick just ONE for each cuz there's so many amazing songs out there but I think we have it narrowed down to: Bridal Party: All You Need Is Love- Vitamin String Quartet tribute to The Beatles Bride's Walk: Look After You- Vitamin String Quartet tribute to The Fray Recessional: Clocks- Coldplay or You Are The Best Thing- Ray LaMontage....so torn between these two. My FI and I are such huge music fans it's hard to pick just "one". I do like the the Vitamin String Quartet is elegant and modern. I think words in music can sometimes distract from the moment, especially well know songs, and they do a beautiful job putting modern songs to classical string instruments.
  14. You should check out a great trunk show that goes to a great cause. It's called Brides Against Breast Cancer and all the dresses are brand new and donated from the designers or retailers. When I went they had a ton of Maggie Sottero dresses. Most dresses are 50%-75% off the retail price and ALL the proceedes go to women with breast cancer! So you can get your designer dress and help out women with breast cancer!
  15. OMG!! That's a brilliant idea. Then just take the OOT bags for the guests coming from diff states. Perfect! Thanks MissBubbles
  16. Gas prices have been going up but my smarty pants FI brought up the point that this is an election year and "magically" the gas prices always seem to coinside and go down closer to election. I would keep your eye on them end of Sept and Oct.
  17. Ha ha I was feeling the same dress regret buuuut I know when I put my dress on again I'll fall in love all over!
  18. If eating right is what's hard for you make cooking meals and eating meals more enjoyable. Ask the FI to help you chop up veggies for the week or try a new recipe together. When was the last time you busted out the nice plates and did a romantic dinner? Try new veggies or styles of cooking. Also this time of year is a great time to go to farmers markets where the veggies and produce are going to be ultra fresh and organic. Nothing gets me more excited to cook when I know I'm shopping locally and about to eat some delish organic veggies/produce. If working out is your issues, which lets face it which one of us hasn't wanted to just curl up on the couch and never move but that's neither here nor there, find an activity that you don't just like but LOVE. I'm not a big runner. In fact you could say we don't really get along but I know that it's necessary to maintain good health. So I compromise by going for hikes or running around, playing football with the FI. Also, I joined a HOT yoga studio. I don't know what part of the world your all in but Core Power Yoga has studios nation wide and offers a free week of yoga to their new clients. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Core Power Yoga http://www.corepoweryoga.com/. They aren't your typical studio. They're upbeat, youthful and fun. They have classes for just about everyone. What I love is you really get a good workout blasting calories but also you sweat out toxins in your body plus you get to take a moment out of your day to just breathe and center yourself! Anyways, point being is like ChocoTaco said. This should be a life style change. Something that you can continue after the walk down the aisle! But it sounds like you're on the right track with getting a trainer. I'm at the 9 month mark for getting married and I def want to tighten and tone up a bit. Good luck to all you lovely 2013 brides!!

  20. Rollerbride: Thank you so much this did help! Did you take an extra bag for OOT bags and DIY wedding decorations? If so what sort of stuff did you bring? Samuel- Ok perfect! Thanks for offering such wonderful services for the contest. And believe me I have my fingers, toes, legs, and arms crossed!! ; ) Moments- I love the captured moment of the beautiful Indian bride. So lovely! Thanks for the info.
