YEAH!!! Best feeling ever....well since he proposed at least. Sorry for all the bad news but you can look forward to 230 days to marrying your best friend. Congrats! We haven't even taken our engagment pics yet but we are set to take them this Sat. Makes me feel so far behind since everyone has sent theirs already. So I guess we hope to have ours out late Oct/Nov.

Show us your wedding dress!

YaaaHoooo!! That is so exciting -
That's the same package we have!! Just as a heads up I heard the fish option can be a bit on the salty side. And you should totally have the right to know what your eating if your the paying customer AND the bride. I hope to GOD we have no kids at our wedding. Don't get me wrong I love kids I just think they have a time and place. And one of those places is not at my wedding screaming and crying and hogging the dance floor. That is one of the main reasons we chose to do a DW. I think it would be a different story if we had kiddos or our immediate family but that is not the case. Do you know how much more they charge per person(adult) over the 25 people?
-
Emily- I was entertaing the idea of a welcome dinner/rehearsal dinner but if you have more than 10 people in a reservation they charge you to have a "plated dinner menu" at $20/$25 a person. And heaven forbid you want to have a private area for any of it they charge $200. The only way to avoid having to pay out the nose for all that is to do it at the buffet. For us that is just what we're going to do. I'd rather save all that other money for fun excursions or spa trip. Anel is slow to respond but she always does. If you think about she has brides and weddings, checking in and organizing all of it everyday of the year. Ramon is also super helpful too. Whatever you choose I'm sure it will be beautiful. Congrats!! I think I do remember from reading another BDW brides review of I think either NOW Sapphire or Jade....or maybe Dreams Tulum. I've read so many I can't remember. Anyways, I think she had to pay the fee but she said that it was well worth it. So if it's super important and your picky about it then do it.

So to touch on the subject of price of trips we are using a TA and thank god. When people are asking detailed questions about flight times or cost of hotel/flight I just don't have the time in my day to give long winded answers. Anyways, our TA is a trusted friend of the family and she brought up the fact, and sent an article, on the rising costs of airfare. She said usually this isn't such a big deal when planning trips. But the airfare increase has been so steady and has made such huge profit margins in 2012 that hotels are now starting to raise their prices as well. Long story short she said it's better at this point to at least put down a deposit, if you're fortunate enough to work with a TA, and lock in the price than take the gamble with airfare coming down becuase recent trending doesn't suggest they will a whole lot if at all. Just another reason to tell your guests to get a jump on it and stop messing around Sophia- It's so funny how people tell you how you need to plan your wedding! It's like "sure we'll do it your way but only if YOU'RE paying". We purposely had a DW wedding to "weed" out the family that are complainers and dream crushers. Don't get me wrong we love our family, most of them at least, but if I'm going to pay for a party I want to have fun at it. I don't want to have to worry about offending someone with our music choice or feel obligated to invite the cousin with 4 kids from different dads and her "baby boo" and his kids. We're doing a AHR so those that can't make it like our elderly grandparents or my FI neice and nephew but it's not going to be anything over the top. Just a simple laid back party. I honestly think it's amazing you have 45 people. That's crazy to me! Your are going to have so much fun becuase you will be partying with those that love you and would do anything for you. Good luck and Congrats!

Who would want to stop wearing an engagment ring after being married when you have that rock??? It's beautiful, congrats!! -
I know I'm on a post blitz here but I haven't been able to "get my fix" today Uhura: April...May...it's all the same! We love having new people and ideas. Besides, us May brides are going to need your advice on the do's and don'ts of traveling with a dress, and organization of guests at the location, and so on! Welcome! MissBubbles: You atleast have your act together. Your STD, Invites, and engagment pics are done. We don't even take our e pics till next sat, we wanted the fall foliage. Oh well, I agree with Choco I'm no one's babysitter I have enough to deal with so either your in or your out. Ok post blitz over... for now

Honestly, I think we're probably all there too! Of course I want people to celebrate with us but in the end it's about the journey I take with my FH. And I wouldn't know what to do without all you girls!!

There comes a certain point in any relationship, friends/family/intimate, where you have to ask yourself why keep giving 100% if the other person only gives less than half and is always making excuses. You can only pour so much of your heart and soul into these deadend friendships. Sorry for the hurtfullness she caused you but it sounds like you have lots more loving friends and family!!
-
Is there any way to do both? Would your parents and his welcome the idea of hosting the dinner and then doing the catamaran as your treat? If not I say don't hold back on something that is fun and will make your and your FI's DW more memoriable. Yes you will miss not having them there but the whole point of the trip is to make new and fun memories with your FH. Best of Luck!

Wow! Yeah I would thank god she showed her true colors before it was too late instead of leading you on to believe she was going to to be there every step of the way and then back last minute leaving you in between a rock and a hard place. Sorry friend! I know you'll have a beautiful wedding surrouned by true love and hapiness of friends and family.

So sparkly!! Very nice!!! -
Whaaat?? Sounds like the type of people that you wouldn't want involved in your wedding anyways. They don't sound very honest or dependable. I think you should let you FI know the truth since obviously they weren't honest with you in the first place. You wouldn't want him to find out and feel like he was the last to know. And you can bring it up to him with out throwing anyone under the bus and let him come to his own conclusion. I'm sorry! That is a tough pill to swallow

OMG the second one sounds AMAZING!! I volunteer myself as your official taste tester for these. MMMMMMMM

I've seen really good reviews on DJ Doremixx in other forums. Also, from what I've seen/heard from other girls is to avoid the resort DJ at all costs, one girl said it was a waste of her time and money especially since she had to take over MCing the party and the resort DJ never played any of the songs she or her guests wanted. We're just going to rent the sound systems and play our own DJ to save a bit of money. Good luck to you! We just got all our confirmation stuff last week and started looking at the menu choices ourselves. I think I remember one of the girls on here saying that they got a beef plate and fish plate and she said the fish was pretty salty. So I'm kinda wondering the same thing. Also does anyone know if the vegetarian option counts as a meal choice or we can just let the resort know that we need a few veg plates and still keep our two options?

It's so hard not to come on here and get dress envy. There are soooo many beautiful dresses! Your dress is one of them. Congrats on such a pretty dress. -
What?? Who wouldn't want a paid for vacay to Mexico? Well anyways, we're lucky enough to have a family member who currently has a photography business, he does high fashion and sports shoots currently, so hopefully we can twist his arm into coming. He's been wanting to get into wedding photography so he could use us for his portfolio. I hope they are still running the same deal when we go and I'll have to have our TA explain the fine details to us. Thanks for the input!

Ooooh sounds tasty!! Margs are a good idea since we'll be in Mexico as well. One of our colors is blue so maybe we could just add blue curacao. We tried making a few different drinks tonight and they were good but they weren't WOW! So we'll keep trying. Oh shooooot more drink tastin for us
