midsummerbride... I totally understand how you are feeling. People in my family are making us feel so guilty for having a DW especially as the cost goes up and up. I keep hearing about how expensive it is for everyone to travel. I get so frustrated because people think its so much more expensive for them. Really they are attending a wedding but also going on vacation. Plus what I have ended up telling people is when I've been a bridesmaid for friends/ family (i think 6times now) the costs are almost as much. Dress, shoes, accessories, hair, make-up bridal shower gift, wedding gift and bachelorette party can add up some where close.

I totally think that they should pay for themselves. They had ample time to book and new the consequences. I know its easier said then done though. Good luck.

I'm hoping that my wedding will be less then 20K but i think with travel expenses, OOT bags etc, I'm now hoping it does stay under 25k

I'm glad to see that a lot of people have similar feelings. I have three BM. The dresses cost $185each so I paid $110 for each. I still haven't decided if I am going to pay for their hair and make up yet. I'm planning on getting them a piece of jewelry as a keepsake. Plus putting a few extras in their OOT bag. It definitely adds up quickly!

I think I'm going to have my FI homework to do as well. We have similar tastes in music but when this discussion came up we had different ideas of what we wanted. So I think its a good idea.

My date is fast approaching and I'm hoping to have my invites out to everyone by April, with RSVP by June 1st. I did send Save the Date in December so people would have an idea. The challenge I had is that every time I looked into booking group rates, they would not extend the date for when people would have to pay by. They pretty much would only give us a time span of 3-4 weeks. Therefore decided on which travel agent we are gonna go with. When we put our invites in the mail, we will secure a booking rate at the same time.

When I started the whole wedding process I for sure thought I could keep my wedding simple and costs low. With originally thinking 30 people would come, we're now at about 50 (hoping that does not go up). On top of that after seeing more and more ideas, themes etc... decided that we didn't want to skimp out on certain things. Plus getting married in Bahamas can be very pricey. My original budget was 15K max but I think with rings, our own trip etc we're hoping to keep it under 25K. I get anxious just thinking about the number.

I'm also having a hard time finding a DJ. We are also thinking of going to the Poop Deck for a rehearsal dinner. Luciano's is also another good restaurant. I'm actually doing my wedding reception there. Good Luck with everything!

I know that One and Only can be a kind of expensive for you and your guests. Another suggestion to try and save costs is to stay at another resort close by like Atlantis or RIU and just to you ceremony there. I think the only down side to that is that you can't have a reception there.

I'm planning on getting married this July in the Bahamas. I'm having my guests stay at the RIU because its ALL INCLUSIVE... but we decided to get married off the resort so it can be more private. Definitely think you should talk to an agent, you can get a group deal, Your guests will have an option to book on their too if they want. I've never been to the Wyndham but I heard it was nice.

I've decided to do yellow and grey... I'm having a hard time trying to incorporate another colour.
