I "lurked" for months before I realized you had to have 150 posts to see a lot of the pics and downloads...I'm not very computer savvy! Now I feel like I wasted a lot of time. But I did find some reaaly cool ideas and read some great advice!

I agree! We were all into looking at a bunch of stuff to buy...decorations, favors etc. and I finally realized that one of the reasons we decided on a destination wedding was to simplify. Then we turn around and started making it complicated! We will do save the dates and invites. We want to add a little colr with chair sashes and possibly table runners. I am going to do the centerpieces myself...maybe add a few cheaper flowers. We will do some kind of small gift, but otherwise, I feel like we are going to be in a beautiful setting....let it speak for itself! We plan on giving out OOT bags before we leave so we don't have to drag all that stuff with us!

I have a question for those of you farther along in the planning or those who have already had their wedding...If you could give us one or two pieces of advice on planning a destination wedding, what would it be? What has worked well for you and what have you stressed about that you wish you wouldn't have?

We picked the resort we really wanted and went with it even though we probably could have found a cheaper place for guests. I figured it was my daughters day and she should have it where she wants! Getting ready to order save the dates as soon as she gets back from out of town. We need lots of advice! Already having people back out that said they would be there....And haven't even sent the save the dates yet! LOL! Not going to let it put a damper on things...I keep telling her that we will be there and so will his family...that's all you need, really!

That's exactly what I did...lurked for months until we finally booked the wedding! Now I'm kicking myself! I'm actually still reading through the whole thread from the beginning!!! Darned everyday life keeps getting in the way!

We fainlly booked Now Sapphire for the same reason....more people included. Stayed there last summer for 4 nights and it was beautiful! Their wedding package seems to include a lot more than most other resorts.
